I have never gotten anything but absolute professional treatment at this Kost! For starters, I've been to a few (3) different Kost locations throughout the years and each and every one of them has treated me very well. THIS particular location is great. I sometimes worry about where I take my car; can this place identify the problem, fix whatever needs fixing, properly service the car...are they a bit crooked and padding the bill...I worry. On two separate occasions I have been to this Kost and they spent an hour or so on my car (usually tire problems, thank you Scranton for working on those potholes.) AND THEY CHARGED ME NOTHING. No charge at all the one time for taking my wheel off the car and straightening a not insignificant ding of the wheel itself. (Other time balancing the tires gratis) How can you not help but trust a place that doesn't charge you when they easily could? I honestly don't believe they add an unwarranted dime to their bills. Is it the cheapest place in town to get all the basic stuff done for your car? I doubt it, but I don't care, I'll happily pay knowing that what work I get done is what needs to get done. Another thing, I've had a time when they just kind of scratched their heads and said they weren't sure...I should probably go to the dealership. In a way, I like that a lot too. They aren't going to blow smoke up my rear and tell me they've fixed something. If it's out of their scope they say it up front and give you some advice to get it done right. read more

I went here for snow tires. Ok, I did get my snow tires BUT...they went and checked out all these other things that they had no business checking into without my permission. I knew what was going on with my vehicle; I didn't need them to tell me what was going on. They removed a piece that they had no business removing and now I have more problems than I started off with. By the way, don't bother making an appointment...you're going to have to wait regardless. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

After calling around for a price on brake repairs, these guys came in at the lowest. While it's a little off the beaten path, not so for service. From the phone call to the end of the repairs, Tad and Dom treated me professionally and with respect. What one shop said was bad and would cost $600 and another PB said would cost $815 only cost me a fraction of the cost because the original shop told me I needed more than I did. So make yourself happy. Call them for 2nd opinions before you get repairs if you can. You might be surprised. Yes off the beaten path, but we'll worth the trip!! read more

I gave the two stars instead of one because the staff is very nice and they set up appointments quickly. The reason for the negative review though, is that the same nice staff is also full of pirates lol. I went there to get a quote on getting my muffler fixed. They gave me a quote of over $400.00 stating that I needed a whole new muffler, catalytic converter, etc, etc. I decided to get a second opinion before spending that much money. I went to a nearby shop where they welded it and fixed everything that actually needed to be fixed, nothing more, for $140.00. read more

This is for Clarks Summit location. Took my vehicle there for an oil change and they put way too much in it. When I took it back they said it was a tad over (it was very much over) and that I was due for an oil change. According to my oil percentage still had 37% left. Will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I had my car there for a loud noise. I was told it was the left wheel bearing and cupped tires. They "fixed" the bearing. Well almost $300 later the car is still the same if not worse. And then when I got my oil changed the other day(months later) they found a screw diver someone left under my hood! read more

I had THE BEST experience here at the end of the summer. En route to visit a friend during a 150 mile trek, a tire blew out in highway traffic, sending my borrowed vehicle spinning on a steep incline. I was pretty wrecked by the time I managed to get the rig off the highway, but ended up waiting in the heat without shade or water for AAA. By the time I got to the tire place (recommended by locals) I was exhausted from the shock and aftermath. It was my brother's car, so I decided to replace all his worn tires, preparing to wait another day. I just stopped by to get a tire patched and had a great experience. They said they had a bunch of jobs before me but I still only had to wait about an hour and 15 min. They were very friendly and ended up not even charging me to patch the tire! I will definitely come back for any future problems. read more

I've brought my card here many times over years for tires and various services. Staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. More then once they patched a tire, fixed a loose plug, top off my fluids for free. They've informed me bigger issues that need repair but Were up front that I could get that done for less somewhere else. The honesty and good customer service keeps me coming back. It's usually busy so calling ahead or dropping off is preferred but if you need to wait there's comfortable seating with TV, water, coffee and AC. read more

I went in to Kost for brake repair. I needed some financial help for this from my father, it happens. Darren, the manager thought it'd be a good idea to call my father and express to him concern that I have problems in my life because my car is in bad shape. No idea why he thinks it's his business or right to get involved in other people's personal matters, not to mention now my dad thinks I'm a loser because some mechanic in Scranton said so. FYI....PAY ATTENTION TO THE SMALL PRINT!! Less than a year ago we paid over $800 for 4 new Kost recommended tires for our Volvo. Less than 20,000 miles later they wouldn't pass inspection. When we went back to Kost to see about the guarantee,.they said all we needed was proof of 4 tire rotations! We take our car for normal maintenance at a volvo dealer .
