Working with Kotis Design was a frustrating experience. They are HORRIBLE at communication and I would not recommend working with them. I did a fundraising iBuy with them for an organization. We started the process on June 18th, where I emailed our Kotis representative to set up an apparel fundraiser with them and we set up a call to discuss the logistics. The call itself was a lot of back and forth to set up a time, but we chatted on June 21st. During this call, I asked him what date we would need to get the design to him by for the order shipped before August 5th. We explained that we needed two weeks to advertise the sale and it would require 2 weeks for production. We were told that if the designs were in by July 2nd, that would work. We emailed the designs on July 1st. We also sent the list of items we wanted and the uncharge for the items (since it was a fundraiser) on July 2nd. He mentioned that if I sent him the names of the schools that would be included in this sale, they would be able to look up colors and pick items from those colors. We sent the names but there were never colors picked and we ended up having to select colors we liked. Additionally, he said the shipping would be $5 total, however it's $5 + depending on each item. The proofs weren't done till July 18th and the whole back and forth was very time consuming. They had the designs but didn't start looking at them till late, and they ended up telling us they couldn't have the items delivered by August 5th. We had the iBuy from July 18th- Aug 19th. There was no tracking information provided to any of the orders. We didn't start receiving the orders till September 19th and found that there were multiple issues with the orders. Even with this, I received no response from our account executive and had to email the account director before getting a response. Some of the screen printed orders were damaged while they were made and not properly centered. Our logo was slanted. For the long sleeves with pockets that were embroidered, the logo was above the pocket instead of on top like the approved design. We later were told that was miscommunication between their production team and their sales team and so instead of communicating that with us, they just went ahead and put them on top. After that they ended up having to screen print the shirts because it wasn't possible to embroider. Furthermore, the sweatpants had the logo a lot lower than the approved design. They gave us two options, to either reprint or get refunds, we chose to reprint them overall. It was clear that no one checked the items to the approved designs. Furthermore, since this was an iBuy that had a fundraising component, we had set up an up-charge for each item and we were supposed to get a check for that amount. I specifically gave addresses on where it should be sent since billing addresses were different than mailing addresses, and I was told that he understood, however, it was sent to the wrong address. We also didn't get this check till mid-October, barely in time for our event. We didn't get all of the reprinted items till November 2nd. Even with this, the long sleeve pocket shirt that was supposed to have a white logo had a slight black outline that was not approved, however at this point, I just wanted to be done with the whole process. This was a fundraiser for an event that happened in October, and furthermore was sent out to multiple alumni and partners. It was so much more trouble than it was worth. Overall, there was so little communication through the process and didn't give information until it was asked for. There's better apparel companies out there that provide even a normal service level. I personally cannot believe that they could even quote the timeline that they said in the beginning since it took more than 5 months. read more

I'd give them 0 stars if I could! We ordered a custom product that was supposed to be a well known brand name item that has our logo printed on it. What a disappointment when we received the order and immediately recognized that it was a knock-off, not the well known brand we were duped into believing we ordered. After reaching out they accepted zero responsibility and then pointed out one place where it said "100% custom". Well duh. We ordered a "custom" printed branded item. Set up an online store through Kotis that included a custom printed Charles River hoodie. On receiving them, most people's prints peeled completely off in a matter of weeks despite following all care instructions. The rep had me collect all the defective hoodies MYSELF to have them reprinted. He also offered to issue refunds to jackets that THEY had shipped cross country that I couldn't collect BUT I never got a penny in refunds from them. They did a crappy job the second time around too. Communication was not only slow but often lacking in important details that I would have to send additional emails to get. Which caused further delays. Used Kotis Design to order T-shirts' for my moms bachelorette party. I used the IBUY, it was such an easy and fun experience. They turned out so cute!! I loved that we could pick different styles of shirts in the same order so everyone got to be in what style they were comfortable in. They have amazing customer service as well. Kotis did the t-shirts and swag for #seatech4change, a Zillow-sponsored event, and I really like their work. I contacted them to inquire about designing t-shirts for a hackathon and I was very pleased with the COMPLIMENTARY design work. They came up with several solid designs that are very thoughtful and consistent with the messaging and style we wanted to convey. Could not be happier with the design work. The minus 1 star is for the ordering process, which could be simplified and streamlined. Once I picked a design I liked, I still had to pick the colors, t-shirt material, t-shirt color and more, and this was all done via their online system, and/or through phone calls with their account manager, which was totally fine... except that it required so much back and forth because the design team would have to make the minor edit, then I would get on the call again with the account manager, then get connected with accounting to finalize the prices and get the final invoice. Since I'm local to the Seattle area, it would've been great to be able to just do a 30-minute in-person or even Skype session to finalize the design to make those tiny little changes. Another thing to keep in mind is that some t-shirt brands run smaller than others. I only know this because the #seatech4change shirts ran way smaller than regular shirts I've had in the past, so I made sure to ask for the sizing. Our t-shirts came out great and was about $12/shirt. They were a hit with our attendees! They also let us pick the t-shirts up in their Tukwila production office to save on shipping. read more

I am a third party in this so I'm only going to comment on what I wish had gone right (as a parent who purchased a jacket for her student). This was an order for about 60 North Face UNISEX sweater/jackets. UNISEX MEANS MENS SIZING. There were only five men in the order of about 60 orders. Product quality was fine (I think Patagonia is better but they do not embroider on the front chest anymore direct from Patagonia, but they WILL sell bulk orders you can have embroidered elsewhere). I don't know the project manager on this order, however ALL OF THEM SHOULD SAY to the client....check the SIZE CHARTS FOR YOUR BRAND, especially IF women buying MEN'S sizes that are also labeled UNISEX. Or at least have a link or web page showing each brands sizing; the customer shouldn't have to go searching for all the details; SIZING being the most very important. SO, we are out $141 on a jacket that fits not my daughter, myself, or my husband (not that either of us want to wear our daughter's school logo on our chest). Terrible to work with. While there were issues or slow down at the manufacturer's end, they did not have prompt customer service to reach out to tell people about it. I had to call and they said that I can order a different size but would not switch it to another design of the same size. Why would I want something that is too big for me when YOU can switch it to a different design. Also, once they received approval for the design, the account manager DISAPPEARS - cannot be reached in any way shape or form. If you are an organization that has a big order, do not give them your business. I completely regret giving them mine. I did not end up getting my class jacket, because they cannot switch it to a different jacket with the same size. This company is horrible. Had I known how bad it would be earlier enough, and how much they would keep lying to me, I would have cancelled my order. I highly suggest you avoid them at all costs. I will never do business with them again and suggest you don't either. After placing an order on November 5th with the order stating that it would take two weeks to make and one week to ship, I'm now posting on December 16th with my order still nowhere close to arriving. I wrote to customer service at the three week mark and they originally promised that it would be to me by December 5th (in time for a birthday for which it was supposed to serve as the gift). On December 5th I wrote to the company and they said that it was now delayed to December 17th. I received an email a few days ago saying it would now be December 20th. Carolyn and Caitlin are of no help whatsoever - it amazes me how high a disregard there is for the customer. A "sorry" in such a case is not enough. Kotis doesn't respect its customers or its own deadlines. If you can't commit to the deadlines that YOU post on YOUR order forms, then adjust the times to the ALMOST TWO MONTHS it takes you to make something so that your customers know what to expect. Customer service feels no remorse. They take forever to respond to emails and then when I called and asked to speak with a manager, no one called me back. TERRIBLE COMPANY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Kotis has bailed my company out on more than one occasion with quick turnarounds and excellent products. I really could not recommend them enough. I've worked with Allison and Laurie many times and they are both super nice and very responsive. If I could give Kotis Design negative stars, I would. Kotis not only failed to deliver multiple times on multiple projects, but they also continuously displayed horrific customer service with lack of responses to emails, calls, and questions and a downright inability to take ownership or responsibility for their oversights and mistakes, to put it lightly. I would have had an easier time stitching swag together myself and shipping it out than I did with Kotis. Also please note that we are a company of 500 employees, so I'm not sure if we just weren't big enough for Kotis to care or if we were simply too large for them to handle it, the end result was truly one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had in my career. The customer service was outstanding in every way and this company would have been great to work with. I had submitted my project for a quite on a Monday and wasn't able to get a price for anything until later in the day on a Wednesday. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are a great company and I'm sure they do great work. Our project just didn't have time to sit around waiting to get a quote. I had contacted several other local companies that had absolutely no problem about being able to get me a quote immediately or even within a few hours at most. It's the person who is employed in sales that also has to get quotes from outside vendors, I understand that it can take some time to hear back from a vendor about what a price could be. I just feel that it shouldn't take 3 days to hear back on a quote. Like I said nothing against this company. With that being said I will tell you that their customer service absolutely amazing and that their vendors are the ones that could step it up a little more.
