Came to receive my package because for some reason FedEx couldn't deliver my package to my apartment weird. Was told they don't accept a photo id. Sorry mate but who is committing package theft with a photo passport, photo driver license, photo passport card, photo social security over $300 like maybe use your head or is that why you're still working at FedEx. I also needed help attaching a QR code to it. the staff was efficient, helpful, gave me good ideas, and then emailed me the file we created so that i could place my order online (vs in store) -- a suggestion which saved me $150.00. This is a terrible copy and print store. If you want to print a document from a google doc, you cannot connect to their printers through wi-if or print by logging on through one of their computers. Instead, you have to send them the document and watch the person at the desk mess up the entire document because they cannot fit it to the same number of pages. The tech at the location is old, the wi-if is slow and the customer service / people at the desk have no idea how their technology works. I give this place a 1/5. If you can, check out Ram's Copy Center or EZ Printing on the Ave. They are small businesses that handle hundreds of student documents everyday and have people working behind the desk who know exactly how every kind of document or google docs can be edited to perfection. Did I mention they have great tech because they care about customer service, not just profits? read more

I remember Kinkos when Kinkos was still Kinkos, and boy I really do miss those days. FedEx Kinkos we do everything from copies to shipping, but don't necessarily do it right the first - or even - second time, just doesn't cut it in my book. I e-mailed you my project and received an automatic response that read "A project manager will contact you regarding your order or inquiry." Three hours later, upon hearing nothing from FedEx Kinkos, I had to call and ask if you had received my project and was told "It is in production." Wait a second . . . what happened to my phone call to discuss the project? What if I had specific instructions I wanted to give over the phone? What if an employee had looked at my project and found a way I could save money? What about my god-damned follow up phone call? An hour later I received a phone call saying my order was complete. I picked it up the following morning and, luckily, it was done correctly. And then . . . an hour AFTER picking up my project I received a final phone call telling me my project was ready for pick-up. read more

Came in this morning because I urgently needed to print a passport application form for an appointment less than an hour away. I went to one of the workstations where you can browse and print, because that's what I've done in the past. This time, I needed to print something from my Google Drive, and both the browsers they have installed on those workstations are too old! Google Drive refused to load for the Firefox version they have, and while it kinda loaded on IE9 (they have IE9! I just read yesterday Microsoft is deprecating 10 in 3 months), it wouldn't go past the progress indicator. I tried downloading Chrome, but it failed to install: insufficient permissions to the temp folder! I also needed something photocopied, so I decided to do that in parallel. Couldn't figure out how to use the printer, so I asked for help. The employee working there came by and walked me through the touchscreen interface (apparently, I needed to touch the screen where you pay to wake it up, and select a service, even though that wasn't what the instructions on the printer said). At that point I noticed that one of the options was to print from Google Drive! And it worked! So, don't use those old outdated workstations that charge you per minute if you need to just print a doc from a cloud service. I would give fewer stars because of the frustrating hardware/software experience, but the person working there was really helpful. read more

FedEx is a two-star establishment. Just once I would like to go in here when I have to print or fax or use my laptop without a catastrophe. Just once. I can never get their computers working. I can never get my laptop connected to their stupid printers. Their card machine attached to said computers often won't take my card either, which is funny, since every other place on the planet takes my credit card. Except for FedEx. Three stars for the staff. They are pretty calm as I throw a fit, and say all the right words. They pretty much know the software is screwy and they are just there to smile and nod, and can't do anything, but they try at least to make it less painful with flash drives, cash cards and a lot of helpful hovering when things don't work. Which is pretty much every time I go into this FedEx. Sooo....be nice to the staff. They are pretty awesome, and offer great service. FedEx: it is 2013. Please step into this century with technology that actually works. read more

I was immediately greeted by the employee here and was asked if I needed help with anything. So A+ on the customer service end. I came here to print photos. While the photos turned out great, the machine was slower than the others I used in the past. Not a big deal but at one point I thought there must be something wrong with it. There wasn't. The cache just probably needs to be cleared. Even though the parking lot is small, I've always found parking. I have to say that while FedEx as a shipping company totally blows because you never know if the package will arrive on time or at all, their centers like this are pretty nice. read more

Anything that's related to shipping, they'll be able to help you out with, and compared to the UPS store in U-village, the customer service in this store is fab. I needed to notarize sth. the other day though and called in to make sure that they do that; however the person on the phone let me know that they don't offer this service and let me know where's the closest place I can go to. Some people are regulars at bars or restaurants. I'm a regular at Kinko's. Over the past 18 months, I have done a ton of special print orders here and have also shipped a few things, made copies, used the computers/printers, and gotten new passport photos taken. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful - and the manager recognizes me and remembers my special print order at this point, which goes a long way in my opinion. I feel like my business is really valued. That said, they do have some gaps in communication, particularly when submitting orders via email. They never follow the policy of contacting you to discuss your order before sending it into production. But thankfully, I've had pretty easy orders, and I've learned to adapt and just call them if I need to. Additionally, I feel like they could really improve their customer service by acting as the print/computer/etc. experts that everyone assumes they are and making suggestions for improvements that those of us who are less design/whatever inclined wouldn't know - e.g., a logo on the poster I print was pixilated, but they just went ahead and printed it without suggesting I switch it out for a higher res image. Overall though, I'm extremely satisfied with this location! read more

FedEx has problems shipping, I was told to take the scooter to be returned to the FedEx store, so I did, they said they couldn't take hazardous waste, but set me up with a call center that had me take it to another FexEx location. The second location refused to accept it, so back on the bus 1h each way, and they said I had to either take it to a location 20 miles away (not on a bus line) or have it picked up... To avoid the insane journey and carrying the 50 lbs + scooter (charger+packaging+super bulky & awkward) over a mile by foot I opted to have them pick up. The option they wanted was to leave the scooter outside of my building in the rain next to a homeless encampment, and after speaking to a manager at FedEx, he made a "special exception" for me to leave it outside my condo door on the 23rd floor, and they'd collect it the next day (Monday). So on Tuesday I called back (it's difficult because the "speak to a representative" option requires me to have an established account, as a private citizen the only option is "when you have your account number feel free to call us back; goodbye!") So after spending 2h trying to get a person they inform me they have no record of the scheduled pickup, and can set it for the next day (Wednesday). I agree and they finally picked it up. FedEx used to be reliable and do at least the bare minimum (I used to love FedEx) but what it's turned into is a nightmare. Seriously try and call FedEx for a pickup return (prepaid, label already on the box) without having an account number... One word... Impossible!!! read more

Few things are less appealing than being an employee of the FedEx (formerly Kinko's) Print & Ship Center in the U district - cutting Kim Jong Il's fungus-ridden toe nails, volunteering in a cow dung wrestling contest, eating your way through 10lbs of refried beans then riding up a packed elevator to the 101st floor - and yet, I've always received fairly friendly and conscious service at this location. Because of its location near the U, this FedEx center can get pretty busy, especially when it's understaffed. Several times when I've been in to pick up a parcel, I've only had to wait less than 5 minutes. For heavier shipments, the staff automatically lent me their little push cart and helped me get the parcel to my car. The last time I was in to get a passport photo, I was out the door in less than 15 minutes, despite the fact that she was the only employee there. However, many a time have I seen irate customers waiting for their printed materials, or help on using a piece of equipment (ie. Scanner/printer won't work properly, scanner only scanned half of something). Certain times of the day the line ups can get pretty long and straggly, and the quality of the staff varies from exuberantly efficient to barely treading water. Parking can be tedious here as well, since the parking spaces facing 45th street are entered through the east, though this is not marked anywhere. More parking in the back. My mantra - get your own scanner/printer. read more

I was really mad at the fact that I got the wrong information from them. I first called and asked if I can use the online print system to design the business cards and then print locally. They told me that is fine Then I went to the local store and they told me the same thing. I designed the cards and then I was told that I could not print them locally. Every thing is from off site. It wasted me sooooo much time and I would really urge you to make sure who and what you are dealing with. read more

The service here is great. They are friendly and they will even sit next to you and teach you step by step on how to use the work stations and the programs even when the instructions are already there for you to read. The paper quality used by the printer here is better than some of the printing stores on the Ave. The only thing that I sigh about this place is that the services are a little bit more on the expensive side when compared to other similar stores around it. read more

I just went to FedEx, formerly known as Kinko's on 45th in the U-district and got the best service ever. This nice man named Jeph helped me out. I had to make a ton of copies from velum. They needed to be reduced and printed and put on a j-peg, etc. etc. Phil was fast and knew a lot too. To add to that, it wasn't very expensive. I had been to another FedEx yesterday and they were no help at all and acted like what I wanted to do would take days and be very difficult and expensive. So there you have it. Horrible experience. They never gave back my flash drive which I realized 10 minutes after I left and called immediately. They said they would hold it on the safe for me. Came back and they couldn't find it and they acted put off when they were " helping" me. They said they would call me after speaking to the employees that worked that day and nothing. Understaffed with several broken machines. Everyone trying to print at once. Zero printers working. Lots of people coming in, staff backed up several hours with work. I had a 5 minute job that ended up taking 1.5 hours because of it. They did refund my money (because my stuff never printed) and took care of it behind the counter. Anyways i went to reprint my portfolio and the reprint was worst than the one i printed before in this same shop and for my surprise the price was double!! I asked why? and the guy was like we changed the machines! so let me understand, u had better machines and exchanged them for a less quality ones and then doubled the prices and you expect your customers to be okay with that!!!
