Don't waste your time. Came here for Botox twice, first time went well, however it didn't last long. Gave them a try again, the charge per area not per unit, no matter how little or how much you get you will be charged by the area, at my two week mark I still had movement in my face so I came back for a touch up and they tried to charge me for the touch up, even though you can't pay per unit. I am under the impression that if you charge by area and need a touch up then you shouldn't be charged. It's completely laughable. I will never come here again. read more

I made an appt to discuss 2 things. When inquiring about cost, I was told it would be "$25 for an office visit" which I had to prepay to discuss going on Retin-A. Dr. Kovak agreed to send in Rx to Walgreens. Upon leaving appointment, Sandy Kovak told me there was a $100 Fee for Writing a Prescription. Then she told me it was a Consultation Fee which contradicted what I was told when making the appointment (Office Visit). This was never disclosed nor stated when I inquired about the costs when making the appointment nor during the exam. It is unusual and improper for a doctor's office to charge a separate $100 prescription fee on top of an office visit charge, especially if it was not disclosed upfront. A prescription is generally considered part of the treatment included in the cost of the office visit. I have asked for this charge to be reversed and to have Dr. Kovak return my call. read more

I have been going to Dr Kovac for a few years and was very happy with the results. I had fillers done in late July/follow up in early August and they dissolved in less than 2.5 months, I did talk to Sandy and she said my body might have built up an immunity to the Restalyn and I could come in and get them redone for 700.00. I really do not want to-risk spending another 700 for a product that my body might reject. With that said I would still say Dr Kovac is excellent at what he does but will not get the injections again. read more

Dr. Kovak was great, very personable and friendly. Explained things well. However his staff was not. especially the front desk (Sandy mostly) she was mean and got extremely annoyed when I asked basic questions about the procedure. I was shocked. It seemed like she wanted to kill me for no reason. Also they did not give me a print out with any after care instructors or anything regarding the procedure itself so odd. Folks, I've been getting neurotox for probably seven years in many different places in Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois. He by far surpasses any clinician with how thorough and how he listened to what I wanted to achieve and what my past experience was(Not great). The tattoo treatments are great and although it takes many treatments, it is well worth it. I really like Dr Kovak and the office is very nice. Recently i went to Dr Chung and I don't particularly care for her. She is impatient and borderline rude. I went in for tiny flesh colored bumps, not acne, to get removed. I was so excited to have them lasered off but now i just have huge red scars on my face. I went in for a follow up indicating that i had not expected to have red marks on my face where the bumps were. I explained and she said, well you do have fair skin...... How would i have known that? I've been to Dr Kovak many times for different issues, but the first time was to get rid of the appearance of veins under my eyes and few spider veins on my face that occurred as a result of waxing away that peach fuzz (eye veins unrelated). Dr Kovak is very compassionate and reasonable with the prices. I paid far more at a random laser center when I received a treatment for over 150 that did nothing where as Dr. Kovak zapped the tiny area for basically nothing after doing my under eye area which was very reasonable. I had done fillers from another doc long before I knew Dr Kovak and it wasn't a good experience for me, Dr Kovak is someone I've come to trust. That previous doctor was giving me vitrase in order to dissolve the product that migrated to above and below my lips and used a bit of steriod in the mix for the nodules I developed and it cause a dent/indentation or atrophy in my upper lip that looked pretty bad. So I went back to Dr Kovak to help fix the issue. I did my own research into successful treatments for atrophy and came across many studies on saline injections that reverse the atrophy over time by diluting the steriod crystals that prevent the fat tissue from regenerating. Dr. Kovak was concerned that I had steriod put in my face and he said you may need filler to fill the area because it may be permanent but he would be willing to try the saline injections first that I asked about... he suggested 3 times once a month. The studies I read they used a protocol of 1 time a week 4 to 6 times and when I mentioned that to Dr the next time I saw him and He said okay! Let's do it! He clearly cares about and listens to his patients and he doesn't have that large ego you're used to seeing with very successful Drs like him. I love this man, we need more Drs like him in the world. So far, I've had 3 saline injections and the indentation is getting less and less. The dr noticed it changing too. I am blessed to have found him. I saw a review that compared oak brook terrace to villa Park and she sounds sad. Hopefully she gets help with that delusion and finds a dr that's more her vibration and I don't envy that person. Growing up, I was always tiny and trim, but always with a little fat under my chin. Apparently, that's a Thing sometimes gifted by genes. In adulthood, it's that part of myself I least like. Recently, I heard that the FDA approved an injectible drug that dissolves submental fat, with very little or no downtime, so I inquired with this office, about which I'd heard good things. I've been twice now for Kybella injections, plus the initial consultation. Every part of the experience with Dr. Kovak and his team has been flawless, and I feel that I'm in very good hands. Dr. Kovak's technique is highly experienced and meticulous. Any time someone injects something into your neck area, it should hurt a little, but the pain has been truly minimal. A month after the first treatment, we could see from the 3D photos comparison that the Kybella was somewhat effective. I had a second treatment, which involved fewer injections than the first round. So far, so good! Great care, obviously concerned for safety, and pleasant people. I can only give them five stars. read more

I was looking to get the doctor to remove a tattoo of mine. I chose them, because I used them before, for skin issues. The plan was to go in for the consultation, then plan out the sessions. I went to the website, and they stated that the consultation was free. I signed up. 30 minutes later, a lady from Kovak called me. With a loud and rude voice, she told me that I have already received a free consultation, so the office visit would cost me Seventy-Nine dollars. I informed her that I never had a free consultation, and that the previous times I was there was for dermatology, and they were paid visits. She said that I still had to pay Seventy-Nine dollars. This was done in a real rude, uncaring, and aggressive tone. She was constantly trying to correct me, when I wasn't even wrong. Nothing I was used to hear from visiting there. I finally asked her, that if I had to pay for the visit, would I at least get my first laser treatment done. She literally huffed, told me she would have to see what she could do, and asked me to hold for two minutes. There at least two other laser removal companies in the same area that would treat their customers better than she did, within that two minute call. Instead of waiting, I informed her to cancel the whole consultation. You gotta have pride in your work. If you are customer service, do not call someone, with an attitude problem. Because of her, I don't feel comfortable going back there. FYI, this isn't a review of the actual doctor's capabilities. I've had no problems with them. All of my questions were answered well, when I interacted with the doctors. The only reason why I'm keeping this review up, past the angry period, is to show how fragile customer service is to a company. Later that day, the actual doctor called me, trying to smooth things over. But, the lady on the phone made it so I don't want to ever interact with her. It's a shame, but, there are other places. Dr Kovak is a knowledgeble specialist, he is polite and professional. I have never had a problem with any treatment. However there is a huge problem with wait time. Every time I came I had to wait for at least an hour before being seen. I had to come a few times because of laser ( a few procedures are needed) but I had to abandon my treatment after last incident. I came in on time for a scheduled appointment and the waiting began, I already knew from previous experience that it will be an hour or so but after waiting for 90 minutes I just got up and left. It's disrespectful to have somebody wait like that, if my time is not valued than I will take my business elsewhere. I understand that there might have been an emergency or who knows what but the front desk did not communicate at all. The place is super nice and clean and the staff was nice, but this is NOT the place to go to for laser tattoo removal. I felt a bit judged and uncomfortable and the doctor is just not experienced/knowledgeable about tattoo removal. didn't ice the tattoo before or after the laser so it hurt more and they put aquaphor and saran wrap on the tattoo after which you're not supposed to do (the saran wrap traps the heat in and can cause blisters). they also wanted me to come back in 4 weeks when you should wait a minimum of 8 weeks in between laser tattoo removal sessions. there are definitely better places in the area for laser tattoo removal. read more

I have been a frequent visitor to the office since I am working on getting a tattoo removed, which in itself is NOT a pleasant experience (and requires many visits). However, I've found both doctors to be incredibly knowledgeable, with great "bedside manners." They've both always been nothing but patient and polite with me. They have taken the time to get to know me as a person, not just as a patient. I'm so glad that I found this office and that they've helped me through a pretty lousy procedure. If you're looking for a place to go for tattoo removal, I'd suggest at least going in for the free consult - you can make your own decision if they're the place for you or not, but I personally would recommend either doctor for any treatments. read more

I traveled in from LA and becoming a new Flight Attendant and my mommy was in ICU here in illinois and I was just caring for all and still had to do what I was told to rid of my tattoo. Just the care and facts of how Dr. Kovak shared with me almost like he didnot want me to have to do it. I was determined tho. Female determination comes from somewhere else,... especially when you are an Aquarius female. Lol. Stan just was there for me and he believed in me and knew this is what I wanted. I started seeing Dr Kovak about a month ago to have a tattoo removed from my right thumb. During the consultation, Dr Kovak was very informative, empathetic, (the tattoo is blown out out, not evenly aligned, and I'm scarred from it; the person who did it did not know what they doing), and Dr Kovak was very up front about the cost and time the removal would take. I will have to go for multiple treatments, due to the fact that the tattoo was so poorly done, but it will be worth it.
