On my very first visit to Girgis, Dr. Sam spent more than an hour with me. He ordered a CT scan and a full blood panel (turns out I had a deviated septum and low antibody levels for several strains of pneumococcal bacteria, which no doctor had ever told me, or even tested for). Eventually, when we had the results, he patiently went over everything in detail, and recommended surgery. The surgery itself was very smooth and the recovery was straightforward. Two months later, it has been LIFE-CHANGING. I am breathing better and sleeping better. Before the surgery, I generally needed an antihistamine, a decongestant, and a nasal spray every day. I have not taken any of them--not even once--since the surgery. During the entire process, the whole staff--Dr. Sam, the nurses, the receptionists, and the billing department--were kind, patient, and always available to answer questions. After everything was done, I told him I only preferred the functional surgery and not the cosmetic. He said since I wasn't doing cosmetic, he wouldn't do the functional surgery either.
