Amazing tour of grounds and animals. Educational, informative and interesting - appreciate the heart and work of this family to own and operate this preserve. Being up close to the animals, asking questions and learning more about conservation and animals was amazing. Great for individuals, adults, children, families, etc. It is operated on donation and by the end you will be compelled to give more than intended! Schedule your tour fast because they fill up and since it's lead by the caretaker, it's limited!

This is how the place looked when we arrived.... Looks like trash.

We saw tours were available (VIP) with a girl named Becca. Their website showed so many large cats, so many experiences we could have that would be hands on. It looked exciting! So, I reached out via fb messenger and requested a VIP tour for our 4 children, my husband and I. They told me the charge would be $500. I thought that was a bit extreme but was hoping for a unique experience. They asked we pay prior to the visit to prepare everything. I normally wouldn't do this but sadly did. When we arrived the place was a dive and falling apart. We were very rudely greeted by a hung over (wreaked so bad of booze, old cigarettes and body odor) older man. Yep, that's who we got for our $500 tour guide. This was supposed to be a fun day and instead all he could talk about was animal rights activists coming after him. It was the most boring tour for us and our children. Even our experience with the gator that was supposed to happen didn't because the trainer left. We requested a refund of even half and they refused. 0 out of 10 recommend!

This place was so great, a hidden gem. All volunteer based, the animals are clearly very loved and cared for and have a great life. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and kind. Most of the animals ate better than I did. Lots of hands on experience, so worth it.

It was easy to make an appointment for a tour, they run on donations only and any donation is very well deserved.

This place was suggested by my parents as worth a visit while in town. First of all, it is…read morecurrently under construction (as of March 2026), so the parking lot is extremely limited with maybe 6 spots, so we parked at the strip mall across the street along with several other patrons. This isn't really a great idea as there is no crosswalk nearby, so proceed at your own risk. There are also signs designating the parking for the strip mall only. I hope their construction includes more parking! This store is jam packed with clothing, books, houseware items, decor, and more. It was super busy when we visited, so everywhere we turned we were in the way or running into people. It was pretty chaotic but I think they must be expanding since it seems very popular. You can find some high-end items here (according to my parents) so if you're on a hunt for something specific you might have fun looking. I didn't really have anything in mind to look for, but I did end up buying an Athleta tank top for yoga, which was only $10 (they retail for $40-$50). Nate got a Columbia shirt for $10 as well. They have a few changing rooms to try things on, and plenty of employees (volunteers?) helping. Checking out was easy and I was able to pay with a credit card. I don't think I need to stop in every time I'm in town, but I would be curious to visit once their construction is done.

I was greeted warmly as soon as I walked in the door. St. Matthews had two large rooms. The first room had furniture, appliances, sports equipment (they had a ton of golf clubs out front), and household goods. The second room was filled with clothing and accessories. Everything is in great condition and set up in inviting displays. St. Matthew's House began in 1987 when a group of Naples church members calling themselves the Homeless Task Force started bringing food to a homeless group living in a nearby wooded area. They started out by gathering food and clothing to help people and today have grown into a large ministry helping thousands of people in the Naples community each year. Operating expenses are covered by their businesses and one hundred percent of public donations goes directly into helping those who need it the most. This ministry takes it's name from bible verse Matthew 25: 35-36, 40 "For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." St Matthew's provides programs to help people transition from homelessness to self sufficiency. The Immokalee Friendship House provides shelter to the homeless and over 25,000 meals a year. Justin's Place Feeding Ministry has been serving meals to the hungry for 25 years and more than 20,000 meals are served each year. Wolfe Apartments offers transitional housing to male clients of the Justin's Place Recovery Program which helps men and women fight drug and alcohol abuse. Programs are funded by proceeds from thrift stores located in Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, and Immokalee. You can also support the worthy mission of helping people at St. Matthew's House by shopping their thrift stores. donating your furniture, hiring their catering company, and using their hand wash and detail center.
