Like I've said before (to basically the zero people who read these reviews), that I don't often review things when I go out of town. I'll make an exception for this burrito. I'm begging someone in San Francisco to recreate this burrito. This Koyote burrito is a masterpiece. The ingredient structure is the perfect combination and I've never seen it anywhere else. We're talking the following: Carne asada, bacon, French fries, cheese, sour cream, and pico. No I'm not going to say it's not the highest quality of ingredients. And no it doesn't have rice or beans so if that bothers you, I'm sorry. But the contents of this burrito are the magical mix of things that make it taste as good as any burrito I've ever had. Don't believe me? Recreate it (then make two and let me have the other). Koyotes is the Western Oregon University favorite for Mexican food. It's small town oregon and you wouldn't believe that they created this magic. But they did. Now the world needs to know. Also pictured is a churro stuffed with strawberry filling. After taking huge globs of fat out of my quesabirria . This is what's left .it was incredibly greasy I used many paper towels to sop it up . If you love cilantro, and hate onion, don't ask for them to put cilantro on it because they won't. It's too much trouble to chop cilantro only and leave the onion out. So my favorite cilantro was not on this. I've asked many times in each time. No cilantro.. The broth is yummy. I have to use paper towels to take the grease off the top layer. read more

I was glad they're open until 10pm! I thought service was prompt. Hubby's combination was delicious. It was Chile Rellenos and Beef Enchilada with rice and re-fried beans. My order was spicy on the first bite! After that, everything else was OK. They have a small seating outside on the porch, full of people. Had a great takeout order/service from Koyote Tacos. Fast service and quality/authentic food. Love their breakfast burritos anytime of the day (eggs & ham my favorite.). Huge portions and fresh. New to Dallas but our daughter who has lived here 2 years recommended. Beautiful area by the college. Been 3 times already and only moved her 5 weeks ago. You won't be disappointed, I grew up on SoCal Mexican food and Koyote's is a player. But I also tend to eat more mild spices as I mature. Rumor has it you can only find this location if you're an inebriated college student. The indoor decor looks as if it was decorated by said college students. Besides the interesting crowd after 7pm, which is no fault of the management, and the decor, this restaurant delivers great food every time. Be prepared, this cuisine sits heavy on your stomach, but the bathroom trips afterwards will be worth it. Taquitos slap, burritos are perfectly balanced, and every dish I've had I had nothing left on my plate afterwards. In conclusion, you must push past the crowd of drunk college students fighting to get the last enchilada plate to reach the delightfully delicious treasure chest that is Koyotes. read more

Koyotes has lost my business. I ordered carne asada fries and when I got back to my apartment the box was half empty. I went back to the restaurant. I showed her the half empty box and she accused me of eating half and coming back for more. She was very hesitant to fix the problem and acted rude towards me. She spoke to the cooks in the back in Spanish and spoke very rudely about me. (I understood what she said in Spanish). I will not come back to Koyotes with customer service like that. There food is cheap and you get what you pay for. Food that is cheaply made, tough meat, and greasy food. read more

Came here sine I was in the area. This is such a cute little food place right off of WOU campus, I wish I was a student here so I can eat at this place everyday. I got the nachos and holy cow.. it was huge. Love all the incidents of the carne Asada, lettuce, salsa, beans, etc. everything just melted in your mouth with a burst of flavors. Super good cheap Mexican food, open late however I'd call ahead if you're going in after midnight cause sometimes they'll close early if there hasn't been anyone in in a while. Their wet burritos are super good, horchata is pretty good but not the best I've had. Churros are just the right amount of crunchy but pretty thin, but super delicious. Good hangover food, good quick bite food. Only ever had one slightly bad experience with them forgetting all the add ons that were extra money in a burrito to go, but I've been there probably 100 times. read more

Friends had gotten take-out for us a few weeks ago, and the pollo asado really stuck with us -- we found ourselves craving it recently. So we hopped in the car, went over the bridge and through the woods to Monmoth and walked into Koyote Tacos. We've only had a few things on the menu, and I cannot speak with authority about regional authenticity, etc. All I know... this food taste good! The pollo asado has plump pieces of chicken with an aromatic and flavorful spicing plated with the usual suspects. The beans are a little thin, but the rice was moist and flavorful, fresh lettuce, pico, quac, etc. Eating in, we enjoyed all the spicy carrots we could eat, yummy green mild salsa and a flavorful and well balanced heat of a hot red salsa. They have a good selection of sodas (Pepsi products in the fountain, and various bottled soda including imports using real cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup). Menu is large with all the usual suspects, we'll have to try our way through a few other things as we visit once or twice a month. A friend loves their tortas, too. read more

What happened??? I have returned to this place countless times for their chicken fajita burrito. However, tonight was a terrible experience. I couldn't even finish my food. Either they changed the recipe or something else is really off. It tasted so different than any of the ones I've gotten and there weren't even any green peppers in it. I was left with partially eaten food and a ton of grease in the wrapper. I'm honestly so sad that I'm not going to be craving that burrito any longer because it's the one thing that brought me, and subsequently, my whole family there. read more

My husband and I are visiting Independence, OR for our 1-year anniversary and Koyote's Tacos was recommended to us to have a meal at. At first, the place doesn't look like much but, upon walking in and being greeted, we found they have an extensive menu and extremely helpful staff. Maria was especially helpful and kind and wasn't afraid to joke around with us or offer food suggestions. When she asked about our day (and other patrons while we ate), she REALLY listened to our answers and responded well. I would go back just to talk to her but, as a bonus, the food was scrumptious as well! We ordered fajitas, the Koyote burrito, and horchata and everything was DELICIOUS! My husband even went back the the counter to order more food so we have plenty of leftovers to enjoy later! Maria was kind enough to give us some foil to wrap our burritos in and some containers of sauces to have for later. If we ever come through this area again, we'll definitely be going back! read more
