Just breathe! Peter Shalit's guidance in the Wednesday evening group meditation has been terrific. So are the other leaders.

I have had an autoimmune disease since childhood, and recently started to pick up again, and I wanted to try something away from conventional medicine, which I've been using since I was 3. The room was relaxing, and I could feel the positive energy in the room, I even got goose bumps at one point. I will definitely be going back to see Jill again.

I stand out because of my extensive background in nursing, which helps me to treat a wide range of heath and illness situations. I work with a wide range of clients. Some clients request stress reduction and relaxation while others are in need of other forms of healing. I bring knowledge and experience of working with clients who have acute and chronic illnesss, anxiety, depression, and spiritual imbalances. My goal is to help clients relax, energize, rejuvenate and heal. As former nursing administrator and professor, I am able to support my students in learning the knowledge and skills necessary to give Reiki to themselves, others and even teach Reiki themselves! Whether you come to my private studio for treatments or classes, you will be treated with love and compassion.

I love this studio. It's clean and their approach to yoga is wonderful: serious about yoga but also…read moreextremely down to earth, friendly, and helpful. I've taken classes with Kip, Kelly S., Kelly C., Anjali, Sonia, Judy, Matt, and Lisa and even though their styles are all COMPLETELY different, I loved every class in a different way. Your first class is free so you can try it out without having to pay. Most of the classes are 90 minutes but some are only an hour if you're looking for something shorter. Single classes are $18 each but if you purchase packages online, you save 5%. In addition, they also offer student/senior deals on TOP of that so it truly pays to book online! My 6-class package came out to $68. My only complaint is that on hot days, it gets HOT in there. I've done hot yoga before, but this is a little different: it's just stuffy, humid, and uncomfortable. I'm not sure if they don't have A/C or just choose not to use it but if you're planning on going in the summer, dress lightly and bring a headband and towel. The Ramsey location has an overhead fan. They also have a brand new GORGEOUS location in Chestnut Ridge, although the air situation is comparable (and no overhead fan). It's also next door to a coffee shop and the walls are VERY thin, however, the coffee is great!

I haven't had the pleasure of taking class with every teacher who works at both this location and the Chestnut Ridge location, but the instructors that I have taken (Judy, Alane, Lisa, Rose, Tenley, Trish, Kelly S.) are lovely individuals, and incredibly knowledgeable. The latter is evident in not only the way they guide you, but the way they can move their bodies. It's so inspirational. I'm sure the rest of the teachers are no different. Recently they've decided to add a Pilates class, taught by the fabulous Ms. Anjali and I couldn't be happier! While this is a yoga studio, I think it was such a phenomenal idea to introduce Pilates into the weekly schedule. I'm crossing my fingers that in the near future I'll see this class offered more than once a week!

I'm not really understanding the negative reviews here. I have been coming for over a year and find…read moreit to be spacious, well equipped, not crowded, and with a friendly and helpful staff. The pool has never been closed in my visits, and I use it every time I go there. The whirlpool has occasionally been closed, but just a couple of times for a day. I have been there all times of day except the evening and have never had to wait for much of anything, including being able to swim. I have never taken a class but I have glimpsed a few of them in action and everybody seem very enthusiastic. I drive over a half hour to get there but it's worth it.

24 Hour Fitness is becoming more of a historical name than a description…read more This location is open about 112 of 168 hours a week, and the pool, hot tub, and sauna have even shorter hours. If staffing cost is the issue, heck, raise the membership a few dollars and actually deliver the 24 hour access the brand promises. The facility also needs more basic ownership. Some equipment still has cracked padding, many locker locks are broken, and I have repeatedly had to ask for cleaning bottles and paper towels to be refilled. Once at 5:30 AM, I asked for towels and got a sigh and attitude. It was 5:30 in the morning. The gym had hardly experienced a full day of use. I have had friendlier responses other times, but I still should not have to ask. This feels like a basic management problem. Create a routine. At the start of every shift, walk the floor, check bottles and towels, straighten equipment, rerack weights, check the locker rooms, and identify maintenance problems. Do it once or twice during the shift and again before leaving so the next employee starts with the facility ready. Clean throughout the day, not just once in the morning. Give the staff ownership and help them take some pride in the place. Sitting at the front desk is not a problem when everything is clean, stocked, organized, and working. But right now the one thing you can absolutely count on is the crackly announcement 15 minutes before closing telling everyone it is time to leave. That is what makes this frustrating. This could easily be a five star gym. It does not require some massive renovation. Open 24 hours, extend amenity access, fix the obvious maintenance issues, keep the place clean and stocked, and have staff actively manage the facility instead of simply saying "have a nice workout." A relatively small investment and some basic management could take this place from a 1 to a 5.
