I have had an autoimmune disease since childhood, and recently started to pick up again, and I wanted to try something away from conventional medicine, which I've been using since I was 3. The room was relaxing, and I could feel the positive energy in the room, I even got goose bumps at one point. I will definitely be going back to see Jill again.

I stand out because of my extensive background in nursing, which helps me to treat a wide range of heath and illness situations. I work with a wide range of clients. Some clients request stress reduction and relaxation while others are in need of other forms of healing. I bring knowledge and experience of working with clients who have acute and chronic illnesss, anxiety, depression, and spiritual imbalances. My goal is to help clients relax, energize, rejuvenate and heal. As former nursing administrator and professor, I am able to support my students in learning the knowledge and skills necessary to give Reiki to themselves, others and even teach Reiki themselves! Whether you come to my private studio for treatments or classes, you will be treated with love and compassion.

I've taken classes with Kip, Kelly S., Kelly C., Anjali, Sonia, Judy, Matt, and Lisa and even though their styles are all COMPLETELY different, I loved every class in a different way. Your first class is free so you can try it out without having to pay. Most of the classes are 90 minutes but some are only an hour if you're looking for something shorter. Single classes are $18 each but if you purchase packages online, you save 5%. In addition, they also offer student/senior deals on TOP of that so it truly pays to book online! My 6-class package came out to $68. My only complaint is that on hot days, it gets HOT in there. I've done hot yoga before, but this is a little different: it's just stuffy, humid, and uncomfortable. I'm not sure if they don't have A/C or just choose not to use it but if you're planning on going in the summer, dress lightly and bring a headband and towel. The Ramsey location has an overhead fan. They also have a brand new GORGEOUS location in Chestnut Ridge, although the air situation is comparable (and no overhead fan). It's also next door to a coffee shop and the walls are VERY thin, however, the coffee is great!

I haven't had the pleasure of taking class with every teacher who works at both this location and the Chestnut Ridge location, but the instructors that I have taken (Judy, Alane, Lisa, Rose, Tenley, Trish, Kelly S.) are lovely individuals, and incredibly knowledgeable. The latter is evident in not only the way they guide you, but the way they can move their bodies. It's so inspirational. I'm sure the rest of the teachers are no different. Recently they've decided to add a Pilates class, taught by the fabulous Ms. Anjali and I couldn't be happier! While this is a yoga studio, I think it was such a phenomenal idea to introduce Pilates into the weekly schedule. I'm crossing my fingers that in the near future I'll see this class offered more than once a week!

They have rigid expectations of the elderly members and if a member becomes difficult, the administration claims they do not deal with dementia and sends the member on their way. We had this experience recently with our elderly father who was given a 30 day notice after being there less than 2 months. We were told, with no warning, no family meeting and without one conversation with the nurse practitioner, that our father needed too much attention and that the staff could not deal with him. The fact that he had been poorly medicated made matters worse but had there been any good will on the part of the administration, more proactive measures could have been explored to attempt to make it possible for him to stay. Since the journey of aging is unpredictable, when one goes to an eldercare facility , one would hope that a declining cognition and memory would be expected and tolerated... It certainly was not the case for our loved one and I could never recommend a place that claims to do care until end of life but throws members out when the going gets tough.
