The Granite Guy - OMG, yea, that's gorgeous!

    The Granite Guy

I would give The Granite Guy 10 stars if Yelp would let me…read more.. We had a fantastic experience, and would never - ever - work with anyone else again. We've even referred friends + relatives to them (high praise). Our salesman Chad Schirtzinger, his sales manager Chrissy Boasetti, and their fabrication + installation manager Toney Curry were all wonderful to work with - knowledgeable, professional, fair, reasonable, and genuinely nice. They have a big selection of slabs, and a huge room of remnants they can fabricate for smaller jobs, too. We weren't planning to, but found a rem to upgrade the countertop in a half-bath, too. This install was big and challenging - it took 3 huge slabs of matching Quartzite for a giant island and a full-height wall backsplash behind the stove. It took 8 strong men to carry and set the big island slab - I promise we were holding our breath the whole time they were carrying it in. There were a few small hiccups - that's going to happen with a big and complicated job like this. They fixed everything to our satisfaction - no hesitation, no complaints, no problem - they consistently "did the right thing" (which is refreshing and somewhat unusual these days). We kept changing our minds in the design process, and they handled our ideas and frequent changes with expert guidance, kindness and grace. AND... because hard surfaces aren't cheap, and Quartzite is quite expensive (2.5x-3x the cost of granite) - their prices were fair, fair, fair. They were fully 1/3 cheaper than another well-known granite fabricator I've spent a LOT of money with in the past (and never will again). The Granite Guy's prices were fair and reasonable for what we got. I cannot say this strongly enough - we recommend The Granite Guy 100%. 1,000%. 10,000%. Our customer experience with them was awesome and what you'd hope for, their prices were fair, the people are awesome, and we got exactly what we wanted at a price that didn't feel like we were being ripped off (if I show you the quote we got from "those other guys", you'll understand what I mean). This project transformed our kitchen, and our entire home. I've attached pix - check them out. Everyone loves our kitchen now. Thank you, The Granite Guy - you're a classy company full of classy people who understand customer service for a big, scary, expensive project. We loved working with your team, and love the results every time we walk into our kitchen...!!!

Chad was very quick to answer any questions. The installers were very professional. Good experience.read more

Florence Construction Company - Our little helpers!

    Florence Construction Company

****BEWARE****…read more I hired this company in January of 2023. The scope of the work was a garage transformation into a master bedroom, bathroom, closet and office. Additionally, I added a front porch update and a few other cosmetic updates inside our existing house. I worked directly with the owner, Scott Florence. At first, the process was smooth and seemed legit. The job was quoted as a 3-month completion timeframe. The first month, things worked smoothly. After the demo was complete is when this process turned into a disaster. First off, Scott and his few employee's (of which I had no issues with, Scott was the issue because it was obvious he provided zero guidance) only work 2-3 hours a day and MAYBE 3 days a week. This was NOT our agreement at the beginning. Major communication issues started in late February/early March. The excuses that Scott would come up with for not showing up or completing work were incredible (doctor appointments, golf outings, school functions, dentist appointments, vacations, long weekends, truck broke down, the list goes on and on). I started to get really frustrated and addressing these issues with Scott in mid-March. Of course, he just told me what I wanted to hear, but his words were all crap. He became upset when I continued to point out shotty and bad work he and his crew were performing (wrong color paint on door and trim, trim wasnt mitered correctly, uneven walls, ceiling stomp was done incorrently and looks bad, uneven subfloor that needed fixed multiple times and many other issues). Finally, in early May we were coming close to the end of this pathetic process. Scott said our bathroom shower glass was ordered and should be 2-3 weeks until installation. The third week of May turned into early June. Then early June turned into June 21st. Like true Scott fashion, on June 21st he called and said, "the shower glass company broke the glass". So, I left the issue alone and started asking for a date after the July 4th weekend. Scott refused to answer my calls, texts or messages on his application. Then Scott said he had a family emergency in early July. I asked for the company who had my shower glass so I could deal with them directly. He never responded. I called and sent messages for weeks and he ignored me. Finally in late July he sent me a message and said he would call me the next day to explain everything. Of course, he never did. I have filed a BBB complaint on Scott and his company and have yet to hear back. This guy is a horrible businessperson. If you value customer experiances and honest feedback, I would highly recommend you look elsewhere. I will say, the tile guy, plumber and electrician Scott used were great. I had zero issues with them. The issue is Scott, plain and simple.

I've gone several times to investigate options, and today picked out the cabinets and countertops that will be used in the final project. Courtney is our sales person, and she is awesome to work with. She is friendly and her experience makes her extremely valuable in this process. The selection is good and pricing is very reasonable.

But skipped the final step of calking my sink back in. Even tho it was clearly on the checklist of things they were supposed to do. So I had to go out and buy some and do it myself after they left at like 7pm. That sucked. But my biggest complaint was that the communication from the office staff and my so called project manager (Chianne) was terrible! One part was my fault. I got an email about the measurement scheduling, but I didn't actually open it because it looks like spam. It doesn't say the company name or a subject. Just the name of the project manager. So if you don't know that persons name, it looks like spam. But I owned that. After that mix up I was told I would be scheduled for Friday of that week but I would get a call on Thursday to give me a 2 hour window. I never got a call. A driver called me on Friday saying he was on his way. But I wasn't prepared for that and had to turn him away. So I call and talked to a different person about how I never got a phone call with a time. This person said my project manager told her that she called me and I didn't answer. THAT IS COMPLETELY FALSE. Your business model literally says honesty in it and you have managers lying about your customers. When I told this new manager she never called me she literally said, I knew I shouldn't have trusted her! So that's crazy! Finally got scheduled for Monday now. At 8 am on my day off. The measurement guy comes. He does his thing and he also tells me that the manager lied about calling me! Finally at the end tells me I'll hear something about an install date by Friday or at the latest in a week on Monday. By Wednesday I still heard nothing! So I called AGAIN! They said materials were in but they would call me tomorrow for scheduling. They didn't! Surprise! Finally got a date scheduled and held my breath that they would actually show up. They did. And I'm so glad, because now I can be done with this company forever! If I could have gotten out of this a month ago, I would have. But when you order with Home Depot you're stuck. Home Depot told me when I ordered that I was looking at a 3 week install. IT TOOK 2 MONTHS! Also I Called out Chianne on lying about me and not doing her job and there was no apology. Asked to be transferred to her boss. Left him a message. He never called me back, SURPRISE! So no accountability on their part at all. Awful. Just awful experience. Do not use these people!
