Absolutely love this place. We recently moved to the area and the first thing that caught our eye was the walk up window. We were walking our dog at the park up the street and realized we could order coffee/breakfast right there without worrying about one of us needing to stay outside with the pup. My parents came to visit and we immediately wanted to bring them here! One of the best cups of coffee I've had, not to mention how many options and flavors they have! Awesome coffee!! I never heard of air roasting beans before coming here. The staff were great and answered our questions when we were ordering our drinks. It's super cool that the beans are imported from their own family farm! We ordered two iced lattes and also took two cans of cold brew home to try. The cold brew is also great! I wish I'd grabbed more. It's very nice inside with plenty of seating. The restroom is shared with the apartment building next to it, so it was very clean. read more

Myles was really cool guy. I was impressed and drawn into his character. This is my second time visiting. Myles educated me about the history of the company and their coffee farm. Myles educated me on the spices, sent, flavor when being paired to specific pastry The blueberry muffins was fresh. Surprised that the muffins wasn't small. The muffins was huge and had flavor. I chose to try the strawberry shortcake matcha. You have the option for hot or ice. I chose hot because it brought out the flavors and spices and sweetness just right. Wanted to try something local other than Dunkin or Starbucks. There were a few people sitting outside, but nobody inside other than the workers. The person taking my order honestly didn't seem like they wanted to be there and only said a few words. Other than that, I got one of their fall special drinks, which was a turtley flavored drink. I got a medium and I got it iced. I would've expected the medium to be larger but no big deal. Flavor was good, but not the best I've ever had. First, I love coffee and prefer dark roast. With that said, I can't stand most coffee establishments and their coffee. Most taste burnt or very off-putting for me. Kribi is one of the few, and this branch doesn't disappoint. Their roast is perfect for me, and I frequent every time I am in this location. The staff is also very friendly. I recognize many of them from the coffee shop that was at this location before Kribi was. They also have a good assortment of food options and milk alternatives for everyone. I love the original location in Forest Park, and I was so excited to see them expanding into Oak Park right around the corner from where I live! I ordered an Iced Chai Latte (with Almond milk) and a London Fog Latte. The chai concentrate used is from the brand Rishi. Both drinks were delicious! The air roasting is quick and done in store. I was super excited to check out the new Kribi location in Oak Park. The shop is black-owned and had a super cozy, vibrant, retro feel to it. I loved the interior seating inside. This probably isn't your best bet if you're attempting to sit on a laptop and work, but to each their own! So many coffee, tea, and smoothie drinks to choose from, but I went with the Pumpkin spice cold brew and Matcha blueberry popsicle. The drinks were great! Not too sweet, but just enough to give you the flavor with your caffeine. I will definitely be back to try another drink and their breakfast items! read more

Used to go the shop on South Blvd in CrossFunction basically every day and loved that location. Sad when it closed down, but this isn't much further from me so I've been now a good amount. The service just keeps getting worse and the drinks are inconsistent. One barista will make it saccharine sweet, the other will make it bone dry. Depends on the day even if you make specific requests. Last 3 times I've gone in there (in the span of a week) I've ordered large drinks. Every single time, the first thing I said (and hit it hard!) was large. Every time they'd ring me up for a small. Luckily 2/3 baristas caught and fixed it while making the drink. Not today. 3 stars because I want to support a small local spot and the coffee itself is good, but service and consistency needs a lot of attention. read more

Popped in to check this place out during the grand opening. Watching the beans air roast is pretty fascinating. Only takes 8-10 min and you can purchase green beans to roast fresh. I had the cold brew and it is pretty fantastic. Hope they put one of these shops in wickerpark/bucktown. read more

Me and my sister went in to pick up an order. Upon entering, we weren't greeted and were met with bad looks by the staff. They just stared at us like if we were in the wrong place but anyways. We go closer to the counter to tell them we're here for a pickup and they don't say anything just hand us our food and that's it. I work in the restaurant industry and personally I'm but on hospitality and all of that so for them to be giving us looks and not say one word to us was super rude. Also both coffees were mediocre and tasted like watered down coffee, I got an iced macchiato and my sister got a Lola chai and both were supposed to be with light ice. I will begin here, I received a notification that this location was having it's great opening today. I was making a trip the book table in Oak Park and making a stop here was on the list. Perfect location. The staff outside are amazing and welcoming. You couldn't go wrong with this location. Upon walking the vibe was welcoming. The decor was amazing and added to the ambiance. I picked up a iced coffee can and mug. When it was my turn to order, I asked for a frappe but it was a soft opening it wasn't available, but she offered me an iced coffee, which is one of the best I have ever had. I went to Kribi Coffee for the first time today. I ordered a Latte and a cinnamon biscuit. The Latte was very good it was well balanced with rich flavors it has sweetness but also on the back end it had more of a dark roast taste which I loved. The baristas were very friendly and helpful. And the atmosphere was clam and peaceful no one was screaming or in a rush. It's a very short walk to my home, I'll be going back for sure. read more

Was just in here this morning. I always treat myself to a coffee after my docs appointment in the building and this place looked relatively new so I decided to give it a shot. Super cute space inside. I asked for an Iced Mocha with whole and they were out of Whole and Mocha so the lady taking my order asked if I wanted alternative, which I am not picky at all about. Glad that they were open at 6am (the other local coffee shops did not open until 7am). Service was friendly and quick. I like the African ambiance. I tried the cold brew with a little almond milk. It was not the flavor that I was expecting -- a little too strong for me. I added water once I got back to my hotel room, and that improved the taste. Went into Kribi Coffee this weekend. I placed an order for a coffee and a pastry with extra cream. When I received my cup, it was half full, and the gentleman said, 'with extra room,' so then I had to ask for cream. I proceeded to wait for over 10 minutes for my pastry. While waiting, I got to stand back and observe. People were coming and going. While observing, I noticed a woman coming in and clocking into work. I was standing against the wall, and she gave me the nastiest look imaginable. I just stood there, continuing to mind my own business. As she clocked in and proceeded to go on the other side of the counter, she took her personal water bottle, took the lid off, and filled it up with water. The water dispenser was close to where her mouth makes contact with the top of the water bottle. She continued to give nasty looks. I believe her name is Liz, based on the comment somebody else made when calling over to her. I simply want to feel appreciated as a customer and not have to wait forever for a pastry. read more

We sampled a few pastries being passed out by some of the employees who were all super friendly and knowledgeable about the products.
