Krings recently did some flooring (wood floors and some carpet) for us. They are highly skilled, did great work, and were highly attentive to our needs and preferences. We contacted Kring's to install a new shower and flooring. They sent a plumber over, who cut completely through multiple load bearing beams, as well as notching a floor joist unnecessarily. The plumber left without even giving us a chance to look at the work. Kring's refused to pay to have the damage repaired and is suggesting that we're obligated to pay for undelivered goods. This is an absolutely terrible deal. Our house is damaged and bathroom unusable. If you want to roll the dice on your roof literally collapsing due to negligence, maybe Kring's is for you. read more

We had Kring's handle two major, important upgrades to our home, one of which was a very tricked out installation of a heavy sliding glass shower and completely retiled shower area (required bathtub removal, old tile removal, etc) that hit the five figure level, not surprising for the amount of work required. The other was the removal and recarpeting of our stairs in a 100 yr. + old house that had a landing half way and reverses directions. How'd they do? We're working with them to have Caesarstone kitchen countertops installed which will require removal of concrete countertops we've had maybe 15-18 years that just didn't quite work out as well as hoped. So, yes, another vote with our wallet. This won't be inexpensive, but that's not what we're looking for. We're looking for fantastic quality and improvement of an important living space we use multiple times daily. The shower is a magnificent bit of work, one I'd argue improved the value of our home, assuming we ever move. I don't. It's luxurious, and I never fail to enjoy and marvel at the work after quite a number of years past its completion. It's the kind of improvement where you're happy every time you use it that you undertook the time and expense. Going from the typical tub with plastic curtains to this, the difference between blah and luxury. The stairs recarpeting was a much smaller project but was also a significant improvement. And although old wood floors squeak in old houses (we know how to stop that, but it's work), the recarpeting and padding they added made the stairs almost completely quiet and free of that noise. Two thumbs up for that. As with many firms, they may employ subcontractors, and my recommendation is you shouldn't automatically assume you can stand back and do nothing. We had a minor issue on our shower with one during installation. Kring's stepped in after we pointed to a concern and they saw it completed to our total satisfaction. Their showroom has tons of samples and more, and an individual assigned to your project, of course. We're looking forward to this new work with them and can't recommend them highly enough. read more

My husband and i try to shop local whenever we can and went in to look for countertops and backslash for a kitchen remodel. We were never acknowledged when we entered, nor were we approached in the 40 minutes we were looking at samples. There was no one in the store when we entered, but one person came in right after us and he was acknowledged right away. Even after he left, no one asked if we needed help. So much for trying to shop local. read more

Your installer is everything! We have had two experiences with Kring's. The first was excellent, which was why we went back. We got linoleum installed in a large kitchen that was very tricky to install in one piece. They did an most excellent job! The installers were careful and took extra steps to insure a smooth, long lasting, good looking finish. The finished job was seamless, smooth, and without flaw. We were so pleased that we returned to them years later when we wanted to refresh other floors in our home. The installers sent this time were very different. They struggled significantly with a much easier install. The job was poor, with cuts that show, tiny corners cut off and patched in and others not patched in. The installers also left our newly painted walls with scuffs that will not wash off, and glue spots in adjacent carpeting from their shoes. The toilet they removed and reinstalled was wobbly and leaked and had to be done again. We were not pleased at all! We spoke to the office. They sent someone out who judged that the job was well done and satisfactory! They discounted a very few dollars from our bill. We cannot recommend Kring's. We believe their quality control is poor, that they do not do enough to insure that all their installers know what they are doing or do good work. They certainly do not insist on good workmanship from them. Our floors and walls still bear the evidence and will until we repaint and recarpet. We won't be calling Kring's for the carpeting. read more

Kring's recently did our new hardwood floor, new carpeting, and new kitchen backsplash and bathroom tile. Excellent help from the designer in the store who worked seamlessly with our contractor, excellent installation of all flooring and tile. When a problem was discovered mid-way through the job with the tile they were putting down they took it all off and re-did it with new tile (at their expense). Had the store do a repair on a shade. When it was ready several weeks later, they called (11:15 AM), so I rushed there to pick it up before the Xmas holiday. Arrived at 2:20 to find the place closed and a sign on the door stating they had closed at 2 PM for the holidays and would reopen Dec. 26. How could they have neglected to tell me their shortened hours when they called?? There is no excuse for such terrible customer service. read more
