I was super excited to try the apple cider specialty donuts the morning after staying at a nearby hotel. We got the apple cider cake and the apple cider filled plus a glazed and strawberry iced. We got there around 9am on Thursday. The donuts were cold and clearly not fresh but oh well. The strawberry, apple cider cake and glazed were all good. I was super disappointed to find that the "filled" donut was not actually filled... it had the frosting on top which is the distinction between the glazed and filled but had zero filling so we never got to try it... unfortunately we were already on the highway when we bit into it. Thus store has hit rock bottom. We used to love going and picking up donuts. But since Covid and the fire they have been horrible. We went in Friday at 5:30 and they literally had 5 varieties of donuts and didn't even have their signature Kreme filled chocolate glazed. This is the normal. The girl working the drive through gave me two wrong donuts (out of my order of three). I pulled back around to get the correct ones and she took the box back and pulled the donuts out of my box and put them back on the rack! Cheapskates cheapskates, cheapskates! Half the fun of going to Krispy Kreme when the "Hot" light is on is getting the one complimentary glazed donut as you enter, unfortunately a few cheapskate owners don't do that but luckily most do. As a result I won't ever go back to a Krispy Kreme that is that cheap. However since we were there how could I not buy a half dozen to split between the Mrs and myself? Now on the one other occasion that I went to a cheapskate Krispy Kreme I would have dinged them two stars for taking the fun out of Krispy Kreme had I been Yelping but I had to ding these guys another two stars because the donuts actually tasted bad, to me it seemed like the grease needed replacing but I couldn't swear by it. I LOVE KK and we loved this one. I made a wrong turn and there it was, in its glorious self. We went through the drive thru on 3 days-we were in town hiking. One time the "Hot Donuts" sign wasn't lit but both other times it was and it was fantastic. I live in the Chicago suburbs and I've never heard of the tradition of getting one free donut when the sign is lit so I was thrilled. Yum! They were positively D-lish! read more

Pulled off I-57 to get some gas and we were excited to see a Krispy Kreme across the street! The glorious red light was shining brightly and we got even more excited to get a hot,fresh donut right off the line. Went inside, ordered a dozen, and were prompted to pay but we weren't offered our free donut. When I asked if my daughter could get her donut, she said that they don't do that anymore. Whaaat?! Great Place! The staff at Marion Krispy Kreme is very friendly and helpful. The donuts are of course amazing. Try the stuffed donuts with "Kreme." They also have great coffee here, including a pumpkin spice latte that is better than the major chain that is known for pumpkin spice lattes. read more

It being Father's Day along with a Sunday morning, they were busy! Lots of staff and a helpful staff at that getting our donuts and coffee but it looked as if he was a manager who had jumped in to help, was rude to me and my mom being customers. Along with us watching him yelling at his staff, making them cry as they serve guests. He was being absolutely ridiculous. I have never been to a restaurant and witness something so uncomfortable, he needs to be fired and sure as hell doesn't need to be a manager. You could tell by his actions he doesn't want to be there but that does mean to treat your staff so horribly who's working for you. I stopped in during a return trip to Chicago at the beginning of the month. I was honestly happy to see anything resemble a donut. I tried an original and Chocolate Chip Cookie dough both of which were good. They would of been great had they been warm. WORST. KRISPY. KREME. EVER. You'd think that on a Saturday morning the donuts would be fresh & the coffee would be hot. WRONG on both counts. The donuts were soft but wreaked of stale grease and the KREME latte was luke warm like they either don't know how to make a proper latte or they couldn't be bothered to steam the milk.
