This place is a complete scam. I thought it was a free photo shoot contest, but it's not. They asked for a $200 deposit, claiming it would go toward the photo package, which costs a fortune. To make matters worse, they post your photos on their website yet still expect you to pay for them. None of the packages are under $200. After I requested a refund and filed a credit card fraud claim following the reviews, they charged me an additional $6.10. Their advertising is misleading and a complete lie. I booked a "Dogs and Humans" shoot with my 13 year old greyhound, Jack. Communication prior to the shoot was great...both my phone call and follow up texts/emails left me feeling prepared for what to expect. They give plenty of suggestions and directions on dress, props, etc. On the day of the shoot, we arrived a little early and waited for Lena to finish up with the previous appointment. We then went upstairs and got started. Jack was a bit nervous, as he usually is in new situations, but Lena was patient and never made us feel bad or rushed. She had a good rapport with Jack and was friendly towards him. Water available for him and squeaky toys to get his attention were nice. On our Zoom I was able to preview all of the pics and again Lena was patient as I hmmm'ed and decided between different poses. They turned out great and by looking at them you wouldn't even know that Jack was nervous or uncooperative! I ordered some prints and look forward to receiving those soon. SCAMMERS. False advertising. Bait & switch studio. I filled out an Instagram ad for a free photoshoot to provide the studio with content for their socials. I was happy to do this--just a fun little event with me and my dogs. To my surprise, they reached out the next day saying "I was chosen." That should have been my first red flag. Still, I was excited to take photos with my dogs and thought it would be a memory to cherish as my dog gets older. Then, the lady from the Boca office called to schedule and immediately told me I had to pay $200 to reserve my spot. She said it was refundable, or could be applied as a credit if I decided to purchase photos. This didn't sit right with me. After thinking it over, I realized they were pressing me hard on the phone and blowing up my email with details about their pricing--claiming most people spend between $1,000-$2,000. That's insane. I told the woman I wasn't interested in purchasing anything, and she assured me my deposit would be refunded. Later, I called to cancel my appointment because I was overwhelmed by their nonstop communication and it became clear this was a bait-and-switch scheme. They are now refusing to refund my $200 deposit unless I show up for the photos and then attend a Zoom sales meeting to view the images afterward. If this is your way of attracting new business--by tricking and pressuring people into outrageously overpriced photo packages--good luck. I wouldn't be surprised if you're also preying on the elderly. I expect a refund of my deposit, but they're claiming I can't get one "per policy" unless I waste everyone's time with an appointment I don't want. This photography studio is ran with some really questionable, kind of predatory business philosophy. I "won" a "contest" from facebook for a free shoot except it wasn't free it literally required a $200 deposit. They don't make it easy to understand how to get it back. Then they refer to that deposit as a "credit" towards purchases as if it's not literally my money. The shoots are held in what seems like a room rented for the day. At the exorbitant prices they sell their pics at I would expect a more established looking studio. The shoot itself was fun and the photographer Melissa was very talented. About a week later I had my zoom to review the images and they were stunning (except they're ALL black and white which is not my style). We enjoyed looking at the pictures but they try to force you to decide right then to make a purchase- you cannot think about it. That type of pressure is just not conducive to happy customers that feel comfortable with their experience at your business. I am over the moon about my photo box that was just delivered! Was it a little pricey?Yes but it was all discussed prior to the shoot and it was SO worth it! I spoke with a nice woman named Faith that answered all of my questions and set everything up for me prior to the shoot. These photos are precious moments captured on beautiful quality prints and stored in a beautiful box for safe keeping or you have the option to place them around the house! I also received the digital copies in case I'd like to do more with them later. And how much you want to spend is up to you! THEN asking for my deposit back they only refunded me $193 ("less bank fees"), which was never disclosed to me. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. I won a photoshoot with my pup with Kristal Studios and it was awesome! I was able to get so much credited towards my shoot & photo packages after. I even got a bonus for keeping my follow up consultation! The staff from the start was very friendly and helpful. From helping me book my shoot two months out, to welcoming (and helping open up) my sometimes timid dog in new settings and even helping me decide which pictures to get. Rachel was awesome and very understanding that my dog was not cooperating at first. I never felt rushed or pressured. Her work came out AMAZING and I love the end result. I entered to win one of their free session opportunities . I was definitely hesitant thinking maybe it could be a scam. I was asked to submit a 200 deposit to hold my session time. I came early to the photoshoot and Lena met me downstairs early too. My dog is a rescue and has some anxious tendencies. I honestly wasn't sure how she was going to do considering we hadn't done a photoshoot before. However the minute molly walked into the studio it was like she was home. She knew exactly what to do and where to go. Lena was a comforting presence for molly and I. The session was over within 25 minutes(I was told usually they're longer, but since molly did so well we were done) we tried a bunch of different positions and tricks to keep my dog entertained and focused. They then repeatedly text message and email you that you have "Won a FREE Photo Shoot" They explain that they will be used for Digital Marketing and various Social Media campaigns. They then call you to pitch photo packages costing well over $1000. When you tell them you can't afford something so expensive and ask if they have any more affordable options they immediately revoke their FREE offer and rudely hang up Without further conversation or consideration. That is classless and unprofessional behavior. It is deceptive marketing at the very least and shouldn't be condoned. The "photographer" that called was Rude and Disrespectful to me on the phone. Dodged a bullet as I would not have wanted them to be around my family or my precious pets. Grade: F- read more
