But aside from their great personalities their photos are amazing. I am awkward in front of cameras. But not in my wedding photos. My photos showed a beautiful bride with her charming yet stoic husband and all their family and friends in a perfectly lit hotel wedding. The reality was we were all hot,sweaty and spread out over multiple rooms in a hotel over a span of many many hours. I even got a giant mosquito bite on my back right at the beginning of the day bad enough that everyone's first reaction is OMG Mosquito Bite!!! (but you can't see it in any of my photos). Shannon and Justin really do go all out for their clients. I received my final photos right before Christmas so I ordered prints for all the parents. She was accommodating and didn't make me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing her (which being late can do sometimes!) On to the photoshoot - Beate provided advice and her opinion regarding outfits. I brought a few outfit changes and she had suggestions as to which backgrounds and lighting would be best for each outfit change. At no time did I ever feel uncomfortable (even being scantily clad) and after the fact when she showed me some of the unedited in camera images I FELL IN LOVE! Her technique and knowledge of what poses and angles are flattering may FEEL awkward (neck out, arm out, butt out, back arched, etc.) BUT the images came out looking natural and incredibly appealing! For our engagement photos, we picked a place in Pasadena and Jenn met us there. We began by taking photos in one spot then we started walking and moving around the city and Jenn would point out spots that would make great picture backdrops. The turnaround for our engagement photos was quick, within four weeks. I had never posed or worn such little clothing infront of strangers or a camera. Kelly arrived promptly on the day of and immediately got to work. She was never obtrusive while getting shots done. She works in a business-like and professional manner with a lot of sensitivity to the wedded couple. Family photos were a bit of a hassle because our family members kept wandering off or not listening to directions- Kelly handled them with patience and tolerance and we got the shots we wanted! I really loved working with Kelly when it was just the couple photos. She was really great at directing us and getting the photos we will treasure forever. I was very nervous about having to be photographed all day but she put me completely at ease and would show us shots on the digital camera just to keep us involved with how the photos were looking. At the reception she did a magnificent job of capturing the special moments on the dance floor without ever interrupting things- she would see a moment happening a capture it right there! This is different from my experience at other weddings where the photographers are in the way or trying to get guests to recreate a candid moment. If you are planning an L.A. wedding then you cannot do better than hiring Kelly for your photographs :)
