It has become painfully clear that Kroger value's profit over quality is their long-term business plan. I just visited my local Kroger at Northwest Hig and Plano Rd in Dallas, and as usual, "fresh is not even close to fresh". Apparently, Kroger had a different definition of what fresh is! I went there to purchase Swiss Chard. All of which, was slimy, wilted, and bacteria ridden. Shocker! Clearly, the Lego characters on their advertisements aren't qualified at any level to judge the freshness of produce. It's also become painfully obvious that Kroger is less concerned about quality and service than they are profits. The night before last I witnessed two employees in the meat department in a verbal throw down about what is their responsibility. The one thing that I heard that really stuck with me is when one of them yelled,"they don't care about us. They only care about profits!" Good job Kroger! You're now in the same game as the airline and petroleum industries. Record profits, while your customers and employees suffer! And...you now want to monopolize our state by buying out Albertsons and Tom Thumb??? I think not!

Creepiest Kroger I have ever been to. Even the security man scared me. Never coming here again.

This is a really nice, clean Kroger. The selection is great, they were sampling many items also.

What can you say? It's our neighborhood grocery store. It does the job. No frills.

Their…read morefood selection was on point but more importantly every employee I came across was super helpful. They provided useful tips for staying in town, what to see/where to go, and a few people even chimed in on where to avoid. I'm usually better at getting names so shame on me for that, but particularly helpful were the deli lady and the Starbucks girls, all of whom were working the morning of 12/26 at 10 am (hopefully that helps their bosses recognize them) The prices seemed good but admittedly I was in vacation mode (where money doesn't matter until you come home) and the service was top notch, but do yourself a favor and stay out of the men's room!! There were some shady dealings going down in the men's room

To be clear, the customer service staff is the worst part of this location…read more During the daytime, there are two Black ladies (one named Nia, and unfortunately I didn't catch the other's name), and in the evening there is a Black guy with braids. All three consistently have terrible attitudes. They either seem to hate their jobs, dislike dealing with customers, or both. I dread coming here knowing there's a good chance I'll have to interact with one of them, but unfortunately it's often unavoidable. In a time when good jobs can be difficult to find, you would think employees would put more effort into providing basic customer service. For the record, I am Black myself, so let's not turn this into a race issue. I only mentioned race because I don't know all of their names and wanted to identify the specific employees I'm referring to, not anyone else who may work there. These employees are consistently unpleasant and would probably be better suited for positions that involve less direct customer interaction, such as produce, stocking, or the meat department. Their attitudes make what should be a simple shopping trip far more frustrating than it needs to be.

I picked up fresh lobster tail for a reasonable price and was very impressed when the deli man asked if I wanted it on ice! Of course since I live a little ways out. This is an elevated grocery store with so much unique finds you won't see at any other grocery store (quail egg's & fresh octopus!) Another plus I love (and the reason I'll frequent more often) is their $1 roses! I love fresh flowers at home so I'll be returning to make my own bouquet. Plus the customer service is great too! So many staff happy and willing to help.

Casey who owns Lone Star knows his craft and does it well. And at a fare price too. I have had other companies try to sharpen my Chef knives, but no one does it so professionally like Casey. And just in time for the Holiday cooking!!! Casey has sharpened my knives for 10 years now. I have seen him do miracle things to knives that have lost the tip or their edge. Swing by Lover's Central Market and have Lone Star sharpen your knives while you do some weekend grocery shopping. Tell Casey, Carmen sent you! oxo
