Checkout though (self) is wonky...of the four machines occupied, 3 of us needed attendant help for one thing or another...mine was due to conflict with avocadoes I put on scale, as the descriptions of the MANY listed in the machine did not line up with what I was checking out, so of course, I picked the wrong one. This grocery store only has business because it is the ONLY store on this side of Lake Highlands. You have to scrutinize every date on every product because they don't pull bad food off of the shelves. Customer service is a word they don't understand and the store is dirty on top of that. Visited Kroger today and the strangest thing happened. I'm purchasing a pack of hot dog buns and the cashier that I go to is running a register and she's set back on her phone probably about 40 years old I approach her stand and she points out that the self check out is open over there. She had no one else in line to help. I responded by telling her" I don't like using the self check outs". she said really why is that? I told her "I feel they take jobs away from people and at the store uses the self check out to not have to hire employees. "She then told me "I'm wrong" I responded "oh, Ok" we had a weird starring standoff for a second or two. Then I picked up my bread and was about to leave to which she chimed in well I guess that's just your opinion is it. I responded opinions are like bellybuttons we all have them and most of them stink and I Chyna laughed at what I said. I can tell that offended her deeply but oh well. I shop at this Krogers because it's close to home. Went to pick up some groceries today and apparently they let go of all the cashiers. Parking lot is a mess. No parking unless you order your groceries online. Self check lines were long too. This store has lots of older people that shop there and are not familiar with self check out. If a another grocery store would open up in the old Albertson's building, I'm finished with the headaches Kroger gives me. read more

I give the Kroger's located on 10677 E Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75238 no stars. It is ran by management that just doesn't give a damn and it truly shows. I own a property in Dallas, one in Louisville, Ky and rent a small place in Indianapolis 4 days a week for work. The Kroger's in Louisville and Indianapolis are awesome. They're big, upscale, clean and have friendly, professional, helpful staff. I'm teleworking because of COVID-19 so decided to hang out in Dallas so I can be close to my grown son. Went to the NW HWY Kroger today, was looking for a product tried to ask this short little man that was about 5'2''. I had to say excuse me to him 3 x because he had wireless headphones in his ears, he turned to me with an nasty, irritated look on his face and said, "Yeah." I was shocked and said, "Yeah?" He said, "Yeah that's what I said, if you take that mask off your face maybe I could've heard you the 1st time." I said, "under the circumstances I need to keep this mask on, but you shouldn't be working during shopping hours with earphones on." I said I was going to go talk to the manager. He said, "Go on, I don't give a fuck." That really set me off so I gave him some choice words before speaking to the manager named Phillip, I told him about the rude employee and pointed in the direction he was in. Phillip said, "Yeah, I know exactly who it is, it's Michael as if he has problems with him on a regular basis. He shrugged his shoulders and went on about what he was doing. I can't believe the 360 degree difference between this Kroger and the ones in Louisville and Indianapolis. There are too many out of work professional people who would gladly take their Kroger jobs. Sad Kroger lets this Motely Crew drag down their reputation and image. I love Kroger but I'll only shop at Walmart or Tom Thumb for the remainder of the time I'm in Dallas. This is the second time we have tried thick cut pork chops from Kroger. The first time it was like fake meat -- mushy without a meat texture. We thought it may have been a fluke so we tried it again a few months later. Again it was mushy. We checked Consumerist and found that Kroger may be injecting pork and chicken with a substantial amount of salt water to make it more plump and increase the weight. This would explain the mushy, meatless texture. Will not purchase pork from Kroger again. Deceptive practice if true. read more

Not impressed sadly! We just moved to the area and I was hoping this Kroger would be cleaner and the employees would be more professional. There were no carts. The store is small and difficult to navigate. Most of all, I miss the salad bar! The employees did not greet me and were only talking to each other. Step it up Kroger! You're better than that!! This is my go-to grocery store for all the essentials that my husband and I need~ they have fresh produce, breads, meats, and cheeses along with a wide variety of beers and wines! I was impressed with their assortment of Asian ingredients as well! It may not be the fanciest grocery store and may not have a particular specialty item you are looking for~ but it's a great place for your everyday needs, at a much more affordable price than Albertson's or Tom Thumb! read more

Literally the worst. I'm not sure who is in charge of keeping the store stocked, but they're failing miserably. Every single time I come here they're out of something I need. Just today I stopped in after work to pick up a few items, they did not have any of them. The Store Manager should be ashamed of him or herself for having a store this improperly stocked. The only reason this place is still in business is due to its location. I bet if HEB, Central Market, or Tom Thumb opened up across the street this Kroger would go out of business. read more

Overall, a decent store. The staff actually has always been very nice to me and my family. I have a couple of problems though. Maybe it is just a September thing for them as the other incident occurred last September. First off I would not recommend getting a birthday cake there at all especially for a kid. Ours was decorated so poorly and was so dry, we ended up getting our money back. This was last September. This September, we bought 2 packs of tortillas. We understand that they are only made fresh between 3p and 7p. Okay, fine and dandy. We will just take the ones already made and go back home. We took them home and opened them (2 pkgs) and they were uncooked and moldy! Gross. We are taking them back tomorrow for more money back. I am not sure what I will do if I do not shop there. I was having difficulty finding a few things and he stopped what he was doing to help me. One of the items he had to get from the back and most places would just tell you they were out. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is my go~to store. I spend a LOT of money here. I'm NOT a prima donna, princess. However, I do expect a little bit of customer service when out shopping. Tonight I spent $267. I got there at 8;30pm, finished shopping at 9;30pm. When I got to the checkout, there was just one checker and LOTS of customers waiting. When I finally got to the checker, I asked him if he would call for additional cashiers for the poor people stuck behind me with just a few items. He couldn't have been more unconcerned when he told me there are no extra checkers, and I shouldn't shop at night because there are never enough workers on staff. I bagged my own groceries. When the checker finished ringing me up, he handed me my receipt, and turned to start ringing up the next customer ... leaving ALL of my HEAVY grocery bags, sitting on the belt. He had NO INTENTIONS OF HELPING ME LIFT MY GROCERY BAGS INTO THE BASKET! I informed him that I had to wait forever to get checked out, then bag my own groceries, and I expected someone to at LEAST help me lift the heavy bags into my basket. Of course, even though it was dark and I was alone with an overflowing basket, no one offered to help me take my groceries out to my car. I will be finding a new place to spend my grocery money. read more

Went to this Kroger because I am actually a Kroger fan. Had never been to this location but stopped in for some organic products that I get at the Kroger store nearest me (on Capitol Ave- the best Kroger ever!) the location was clean and wasn't busy. My visit was at 8:30 in the morning. Although the store was fully stocked, the service was less than savory. Please understand this is why the store would've received a 5 star rating, but has dwindled down to a 2. Because the store is one I am not familiar with, I walked down he juice aisle looking for an organic juice. After not finding it, I decided to ask a team member. 2 males were walking into the stocking area (about 3 aisles from the juice aisle) and I said "excuse me sirs". Perhaps they didn't hear me as they did not respond so I yelled "excuse me sirs!" They both turned around and the elder (store mgr Jesse) approached me and said yes, ma'am? I asked him "where the store kept the organic juices? Very curtly he responded, "that would be in our juice aisle" and began to walk away. Beyond the condescending tone, the sheer fact that this man didn't think to direct me to that unhelpful and seemingly obvious location was appalling. This was the mgr speaking?! The stocker(Juan) that was with him said, "no, ma'am your looking for our natural section which is the last aisle" and he pointed at the sign. Funny how the man furthest from me was able to actively listen and appropriately show me where to go. Thank you Juan for following the steps for excellent customer service. This place is horrible. I have gone there for the last 3-4 years on and off and it hasn't changed. The whole store needs a facelift. The parking lot is a mess and the front entrance carpet needs to be torn out. Worse customer service. This review is not just from one incident, its from a multitude of incidents. Make sure you are watching them as they put the items in your bag then to your cart. They seem to rush you at the checkout line initially. Then they rush you out of the line so if you are gathering coupons or your wallet, you have no time. Or you are wasting their time. The customer relations that Kroger claims to have is poor to none. This is the third time I have been to this location and I have had to return because they did not put something more expensive in my cart after they charged me for it. Then you go back and the questioning comes, which is understandable, but if it's a 10 minute time frame since you purchased everything do you think I would just be trying to gain more items??
