I'm not a Kroger fan, but we get a few things there once in awhile. This one was handy today. First impression: parking lot is far more organized and safe than many of their locations. Second impression: the store is small. But it's not; somehow just looks a bit small from the outside. Inside, plenty of choices, and they had everything I needed. Staff were friendly. I came in on Jan. 25th. Got a personal watermelon. When I got to register where hunter was working, he asked me if it was seedless I told him idk but the sign said either 449 or 499 I told him this 3 times. I also said I hope it was sweet cause seems I always get a bad one. Anyway when I got home 18 miles from the store I realized he charged me 699 but then I cut it open 2 days later after getn it cold in fridge it didn't look right I took one bite and spit it out. This Kroger is a pretty standard grocery store. Good produce section including a pretty good variety of local vegetables (squash, sweet corn, cabbage, green beans, etc.). Most of their local vegetables are under $1 per pound. They have a decent though not great fresh meat section; I did not see a fresh seafood section. Where there used to be a seafood section, there is a section featuring bratwursts and other barbecue meats. A pharmacy is also located on-site as well as a Redbox video rental kiosk. Service was good and friendly while prices were pretty good on some things but just okay on a lot of things. This is a pretty decent grocery store and its value increases because it is the only big grocery store on this side of town. Huge and free parking lot. One of the reasons I hate living in Chillicothe is we don't have a decent store to shop for groceries. Can't go grocery shopping at this Kroger with out getting one or more items that are expired. And I'm not talking like a week expired. A MONTH expired and don't realize it till I'm getting home and putting the groceries away. It's beyond ridiculous. This Kroger is dirty and does not keep up on disposing of old products. I bought bread today that expired February 8th. I bought paleo mayo two weeks ago that expired in DECEMBER! It's sickening. Absolutely hate this Kroger. Don't have great things to say about Walmart's groceries either. read more

I came in for beer and buns, I had my brother with me who was not 21 and was told they could sell me the beer because he was not of age even tho I was and the beer was not for him... we were heading to a cook out and Kroger's was the best option, after they inconvenienced us, unfortunately I will not be shopping there again. Rarely do I have a time when I feel grateful to live in Co-slum-bus, Ohio, but visiting my family in Chillicothe recently was one of those times. I went to this store to pick up my grandma's medicine and food for my mom (who is caring for her). It expanded since I was last in town, but it doesn't feel like it. The aisles are so narrow, and for some reason at 3:00 in the middle of a week day, the whole town was in this store. A guy with a cart was parked in the middle of one of the aisles, obviously oblivious to everyone around him. When he finally moved, I got hit with an onslaught of people with carts who'd backed up behind him. I'm here with my little basket getting pushed into a shelf of oatmeal with no apologies. BTW, in Columbus, if you're parked in the middle of the aisle like that, you'll literally be mowed down. Some of the layout is nonsensical. Crackers divided up b/w two different aisles, generics items always pushed out in front. Little variety in the bread aisle. They have about half as much bread as the Georgesville Square - Columbus store. One thing I had really liked about this store was that the pharmacy kept moving and they were good about opening a second checkout when they got busy. Not so any more. There is not much room in this store in general, like I said, so again hit with a cart onslaught while waiting in line. I do like that there is no Little Clinic in this store. In the Georgesville Square Kroger, the Little Clinic and pharmacy are both together so if you're in the pharmacy line, you're right next to the sick people sitting in the waiting area. I also liked that the checkout added more self-scans. Chillicothe has a much older demographic than Columbus and older people tend to avoid those lanes so I was able to check out fast. read more
