Visited this Kroger on the 4th of July. Prices were great as well as their natural food selection. Found Daiya slices nearing their expiration on sale for $1.99 each, they normally sell for between $4 - $6 each. No problem as we were in town only for the long weekend. Their beer and wine selection was great. Lots of choices. I like my wine sections broken out by region vs. by type, so looking for organic, vegan wine was difficult but not impossible. I recommend this store to any vegans traveling through the area that need provisions. read more

The Kroger on Phelan and 23rd has the most insensitive and uncaring staff of any pharmacy that I have been to. I am a senior citizen and I advise all like me to STAY AWAY from Kroger. They do not care about you. Worst medical establishment I've dealt with in 67 years. read more

The Kroger Pharmacy customer service really sucks! They take forever and three days to fill prescriptions. Almost every time I go there to pick up prescriptions, they are closed! read more

My Aunt insists on shopping at this Kroger because it's small but the cashiers are very rude and unhelpful. Last Tuesday morning, we shopped there. My Aunt is 93 and I finally convinced her to use a scooter cart. The first one had a full charge but died in the produce department about 500 feet from the front door. I found another one and transferred her produce. The 2nd one died at the back of the store about 20 minutes after the first. I approached a cashier whose name tag said Linda. She and a woman wearing a red vest with short blond hair were chatting. There were no customers in line. Linda said sorry, there are no more carts. The blond shrugged her shoulders and they both turned their backs on me. Neither offered any help or to call for help. I went back to my Aunt and her scooter full of groceries, and reported what happened. Two women stocking shelves helped us. Their tags said Darlene and Brandy. These sweet women brought a regular cart to us, moved the groceries to it and helped me get my Aunt to the unhelpful cashiers. They were closer than the auto checkout place. I put a flat of water on the belt and Linda fussed at me. She said we don't handle these heavy items and let me know she was annoyed because now she needed another employee to put it back in the basket. I suggested she and the red vested woman needed to find jobs they are physically qualified to do. Kroger found a great way to force customers to use self check outs. They put a very mean and unhelpful human cashier in place to drive everyone to self check their groceries. I shop HEB. They have very kind and helpful employees, their scooters work and their produce is beautiful. The Kroger on Phelan smells bad, too. read more

I come to Beaumont at least twice a month and I usually shop there when im in town. We usually barbecue pretty often and this is our favorite place to shop. They have a huge meat counter and i love the refrigerated coolers in the center of the isle. They have great prices and you can definitely save with the card. We purchase 2 huge pack's of porkchops air 11.00 a piece qhicj has at least 9-10 pork chops per pack. I also love the St Louis style marinated ribs. They are to for for. I also like taking the card because i save a lot when I purchase gas. That .10 off a gallon makes a big difference. I will always be a Kroger shopper. The store is always clean and a stocked. The staff is always nice and pleasant always greeting you with a smile. Every now and again you'll encounter a sour puss but the good employees out way the negative. Keep up the good work. read more

Kroeger is actually a store favorite. I patronized their store in GA when I lived there. This store has employees who don't acknowledge your presence. You may be entering the store and employees will walk right out in front you. Of course there are three of them having a conversation and they are oblivious to the customers around them. The employees should work on their manners and customer service skills. The last time I was there I was trying to hand the key discount card to the cashier but she refused to take it. She said, no, you need to go through the register. So I proceed to get closer to the bagging area and she accepts the card. I don't know what her problem was but I was actually annoyed that this cashier had to act in such an unprofessional manner. read more

I go to Kroger because I work late and there aren't many options. I kind of feel like I am at the grey hound bus station on the way from my car to the front door. There is always a dude asking for money, and some crazy guy talking to himself on a bench. I am not sure why the parking lot always looks like a hurricane is approaching, and entire city has flocked to Kroger for baskets upon baskets of survival gear, leaving the lot littered with grocery cart chaos. When actually, it's just a Wednesday night at 9:45 and every employee is drinking Mountain Dew next to the automated checkout. After telling the crazy guy to leave me alone, dragging baskets in, and checking out my own groceries, I feel like I will get a W2 in the mail after trying to pick up some food. This place is my personal hell. read more

I am a 12 plus year fan of Kroger's on Phelan in Beaumont. I like this Kroger for these reasons. Great groceries at great prices. Convenient location. Clean and safe. Large enough to serve you, small enough to know you. Medium size store. Small shopping strip. Get gasoline there too. One stop shopping for those who are there to buy groceries, they have it all. Friendly helpful staff. Nice fellow customers, good well kept shopping carts, No children unattended. Clean. Some small Texas grown looking and maybe sweet tasting fruit. If very lucky, maybe get to see a baby or two. Or some elderly people. Or just maybe a handicap person. That is good luck in my opinion. I drop into HEB and Market Basket occasionally for specials, but Kroger has been my main grocery store for decades. I like noticing I paid six or seven dollars less there if I am careful in my shopping I am going to step up and speak for my Kroger. I want it to stay there for the next few decades and not get big. Groceries are groceries and big does not appeal to all by a long shot. I have never seen it dirty or observed anything bad going on. I have seen much good go on day after day. If a regular half careful customer is interested in spending less on groceries, this may be the store for you. Good specials. Nice Kroger brands, Nice usual brands of everything. Visited this Phelan Kroger location today, 12/01/2016 @ 2:44..Disappointed in 'attitude ' of cashier, Veronica. The Llano wine had a 'shelf sign' stating $7.19 if purchase 6 or more bottles. I noticed it ringing up at $7.99 & I asked Veronica, " Will it ring up at reduced price at end, or what?" Veronica responded, "$7.99?" I responded, "No, $7.19." Veronica's response, "I have no idea." Really? If you have no idea, then who does? As a customer, I surely don't know what to expect at the end of the transaction. And Really, is that a kind of response that should be given? You know, Kroger is usually known for their politeness, their courtesy, and their pleasantries.. that's the main reason I shop there.. If you lose that, you might as well hang it up & become like every other supermarket...all about nothing but selling your wares! read more

This Kroger is not my fav. Of the two Krogers in town, this one definitely comes in a distant second place. The parking lot is dirty and always super full of car, carts, diapers (gag), you name it. The biggest issue is the fact that their produce is generally spoiled and rotten, OR buzzing with gnats. No, it's not a third world country in there, but I definitely don't buy produce or meat from this store. read more

I have written several reviews on this Kroger and obviously they don't read it or care. It is the store I shop at because I like the prices and the staff. But it is FILTHY outside always. Trash, food all over (the birds hover by the cars) shopping carts in the parking spaces I have talked to the managers many times to complain and the next time I go its always the same. Also many times the salad and lettuce area is low and the shelves in many sections are very low. I would like to stay here(like the gas points) but if there is not a change I'm going next door to Market Basket (home owned) Clean, friendly OR There is always H,E,B, that has everything!!!
