It's a shame we don't have other grocery stores that can compete with Kroger in the area. This Kroger was not stocked well today and the Fresh Creation Hummus were expired with a date of Feb 15. I see other pictures of expired products from this store. Unfortunately this isn't the only Kroger that I've been to with expired items and to me that shows a lack of quality checks. I checked myself out, so there was no wait. Produce looked pitiful and we should have more options for reasonably priced food in the Memphis area in general. First off. I will say that I am a big fan of Kroger and whenever I am in an area with a Kroger, I usually choose Kroger to get my water and whatever else I find myself needing (snacks and whatnot) for my night in the hotel. I used the self-checkout, so i highly compliment the person checking me out. I did a fantastic job at checking myself out. The ambiance is pleasant enough for a supermarket and is well laid out. I stop by this location quite a bit because the produce department is usually up to par. I also appreciate the security because you never know what can happen and I like to feel safe while shopping. I didn't purchase anything from the meat or deli this trip but I've always had very good experiences there. I got some kale and Limeade, the other location didn't have it but I scored at this one. The layout of the store is spacious and easy to navigate compared to some other locations and that makes for a pleasant shopping experience. As we know, all Krogers are not the same but I would definitely recommend this one based on my experience. I was so happy to find my Limeade that I forgot to take pictures. read more

This is to express my disappointment with this Kroger's deli department. In preparing for an after-funeral luncheon, we ordered several sandwich trays from this location. Less than 24 hours from when we were supposed to pick up the order, we received a phone call saying they were short-staffed and could not fulfill the order. Within this short a time frame, we are scrambling to find another resource. We are not likely to order from this Kroger deli again. read more

So many out of date and expired items. Bread that molds the next day. Milk and other perishables have obviously not been stored correctly because upon opening they already bad. There are never enough checkouts open, and having to wait on long lines in a pretty empty store to check out my own stuff is annoying. Staff if extremely racist denied my purchase simply for having a foreign ID (which is actually given by the US) because "Im not supposed to even be here." My sister went back later and asked a different employee if they accept IDs from other countries and she said they do. While doing so my sister witnessed the same staff denying someone else their purchase for having an ID from China. I have shopped at Kroger for years and never have I experienced this before. Never thought I would review a grocery store, but this one is particularly bad. Multiple times I've bought milk that I find out later is very near expired, and just recently bought protein bars that were 5 MONTHS EXPIRED and gave me food poisoning. I tried getting a refund or any sort of compensation but was told I will not. Imagine having to check the expiration date of the food ON SHELVES in a grocery store. read more

I just moved from the "hood" of Norfolk, Va to Cordova... And let me tell you, this Kroger is really not that bad!! I've been impressed with just about everything here, including the free water when you walk in! They have a good selection of produce, even organic which is my top choice. The layout is nice, and I always feel like I can find a good deal with the way they clearly mark reduced items. They also have a greatttttt health foods aisle. It has just about everything you need for healthy eating or gluten-free diet, etc. The staff is friendly, and the self checkout (my personal fav) always works without a hitch. Kroger has really come a long way since the 90's. At no charge they offer to steam Fresh shrimp with Cajun seasoning and also season catfish of your choice of available seasoning. Less work for me to do when I get home. Great customer service! read more

Ugh, this place. Why am I not giving it one star? Because it at least gets the job done if you want to go grocery shopping. But seriously, if you want to go to Kroger, just go 3-4 minutes up the street to Kroger Trinity. It's way better. Despite the renovations to this store (Kroger Dexter, the one I'm reviewing), it's gone way downhill. The staff? Ha, good luck finding anyone unless you're right up by the front area where the registers are. If you're in the other 95% of the store and can't find something (since their renovation they shifted everything to different parts of the store and haven't put new directories in the carts)...you're on your own. And no, not everything is obviously listed up top. Not to mention if you're by aisle 2 and what you want is at aisle 12, that's a lot of back and forth and wasted time. The security. They're so rude. Okay, any Kroger I've been to in any city has two entrances. Ever since this one opened, they've always closed one entrance, so I'm used to that. Back when they were open 24 hours, they closed the secondary entrance at 9 pm and also had a sign up. Now? The MAIN entrance gets closed when they want to (seriously? The main one??) AND they close the second door of the secondary entrance, meaning everyone coming and going has to bottleneck from one door. There's multiple security guards, and if they have to close almost every door (imagine trying to evacuate everyone if a fire broke out on a Saturday at 7 pm - seriously, they close every other door that early)...you'd think it'd be against fire laws to not have a second entrance open. This all makes me feel less secure. One day, I was seriously two steps from the main entrance, and a security guard locked the door in front of me and told me to go to the other entrance, huge cart and all. Like I said, they're rude. Behind me was a man in a wheelchair, I nearly ran into him trying to turn around, and the guard refused to tell anyone the door was locked. Apparently it was my job since he already told me! There have been times I've gone to U-Scan with a standard amount of groceries (keeping in mind U-Scan means...I'm going to scan the items myself) and been told nope, I have to go to a register. There was one register open with five people already in line. No customers at U-Scan. Instead of what should've been a quick in and out trip turned into waiting in line for ages, and no one could understand why they (it wasn't just us) were being directed to the register. Some of the items' stocking locations is just baffling. I remember walking down three aisles trying to find a cleaning product. Like...was it with the Clorox and such? Or the Dawn? Maybe the Windex? It was a mystery. Finally, the customer service desk...ugh. The girl that is usually there is just plain unprofessional. She will scream across the entire store (there is a phone to page people, js) to talk to someone. And it's usually about random stuff. But if you have a question like, can I request something to be stocked or find out when something will be back in stock...no. Like I said, just go to Kroger Trinity. Same prices, same hours, pretty much all the same items stocked, way better service. They've got a gas station there too so I really am struggling to think of anything the Dexter location has that the Trinity location hasn't. read more

If you are looking for a store that is mis-managed, has sorry customer service, not very well stocked, has individuals that will straight out lie to you, THIS STORE is for YOU. On April 28, 2022 I went to the Pharmacy to pick up my wife prescription. Our last names are different but we both have been shopping this store sine 2014. The young untrained lady at the pickup counter said I need to see your drivers license. I asked for what reason. I explained that my wife had authorized me to do say several years ago. Since she couldn't give me a straight answer, the female Pharmacist spoke up and said that Medicare required it. I have been picking up both mine and her prescriptions at this location for 9 years and never been asked for this information and I also found it to be unnecessary and a hassle. In the past I was asked her name and date of birth only. I felt they were lying to me, so when I returned home I called Medicare and guess what, Krogers was LYING. IT IS NOT a REQUIREMENT BY MEDICARE. I will be moving my RX's to another Pharmacy and I now shop at Walmarts and Fresh Market. read more

This Kroger seems to be typical for the area. It has been remodeled more recently than the store at Trinity and appears to be cleaner. As in most Krogers, you have to pay attention to expiration dates. I have many times found items that have expired. So far we have found the cashiers to be very pleasant. We both wish we had more choices in brands - many items are available only with the Kroger brand which is not always the quality we were looking for. read more

This is the worst excuse for a modern grocery store I've ever experienced. Every time I come in here the shelves all look like someone just predicted SNOW! For some reason they are incapable of maintaining inventory levels. I've not been able to get everything on my list in 1 stop at this store for the last 3 years. Management always has some lame excuse about people calling in or not enough warehouse space blah blah blah. If it was every once in awhile I might buy that line but it's every time. I've held back from posting a bad review because I really don't like to do that but I write this now as I have entered this store for the last time. So, my Target closed . As a result I have had to decide where else to do my daily grocery shopping. When comparing pricing It seemed par for the course. Actually since there's no threat of shopping for anything but groceries it probably saved me money. I prefer this store over the one located closed to my house because I feel like the parking lot is just better. I am usually able to find a spot. I regularly shop at Kroger because it is the closest grocery store but lately my mind is changing. I think the limited competition has them not caring about quality or customer service. However, I will never come back to this location again. We have been in here three times out of convenience and I wish we would have learned after the first. Every time we go in you cam immediately smell what we think is old rotting food that must have fallen behind shelves and never cleaned up. Want to wait in the ONE long line they usually have open for checkout (even on Saturdays), walk through narrow isles, not be able to find an employee when you need help? Then, this is the place for you! The checkers and baggers are mostly friendly, but good luck finding a floor manager to help with the flow of checkout. I recently moved, and I'm now closer to this Kroger than the Kroger at Trinity Commons, which is SO much better than this one. I'll continue making the few extra miles to Trinity Commons where the employees are friendly, managers do their best to keep lanes open, and you are always asked if you've found everything you need. read more
