While running pre-Thanksgiving errands with "THE" Girlfriend, an Asus laptop at Walmart caught my eye. It had the major features I was shopping for (i7-1335 processor, 16 GB of RAM, good graphics card, 1TB SSD, 15.6" display) and it only cost $399. In my research, most laptops configured like that cost $579 - $659. KUDOS to Ms. Dianna for a super sales and customer service effort!!! She diligently searched the store's inventory for that Asus, but there was none in stock. What really blew me away was that she searched and showed me every laptop with 16 GB of RAM and an i5 or Ryzen 7 processor. Here's why I was so impressed, I spent 20 years in retail management and another 20 years as a retail business consultant. Today, Ms. Dianna was a classic case stud in SUPERIOR customer service and sales effort. Also, because of Ms. Dianna's efforts, I bought that Asus at walmart.com and it was delivered to my home about 14 hours after I placed the order. read more

I had to pick up a few things so I popped in. I hate to go grocery shopping when it's dark out but now that it's getting darker earlier I'll need to plan my trips for the morning. Anyhow as I was shopping I noticed a man that appeared to be following me, this made me very concerned. I continued my shopping as normal. I only needed a few things but I wanted to make sure he was following me. I paid attention and made an unexpected turn and got behind him, he then darted off into another direction. He was following me. As I proceeded to check out I told the cashier and she pointed me in the direction of the police. They were very helpful, one of them went back to see if he could spot the man and the other escorted me to my car. I'm posting this to remind folks if you have a feeling that something isn't right speak up, the police are there to help and I couldn't be happier about that. I placed a pick up order today and had to wait 35 minutes for it to come out. It's the day before Thanksgiving, so I definitely understand they're busy and have a lot of orders that they need to fulfill. Well, it was kind of annoying, I was in no rush and was happy listening to my audiobook in the car. The person who delivered my groceries was very rude, and threw all of my stuff in my trunk. Thankfully, my order was correct and I had all of the things that I purchased, but it just wasn't a good experience overall. It was also very hard to find the pick up location. read more

I ordered groceries from Walmart and a few of my items were missing.,however the biggest disappointment involved peanut oil leaked every where on the groceries, counter top and floors. Walmart did refund the peanut oil..but the stress,frustration and time it took to clean the mess. Walmart need to train their people to look out for avoidable problems that can affect their customers. Someone saw this peanut oil leaking and sent it anyway. I ran in quickly to grab a gift card for a birthday party. First I looked beside every register, then I surprisingly doubled back in case o missed them. Then I headed to the greeting cards to see if they were there. Nope! But I saw a blue vest with the Walmart logo on it. "Excuse me sir, could you tell me where the gift cards are?" I ordered tires online, paid for them and set up and appointment for an install on my Jeep. After 4hours they called me to tell me they will not mount them because they are not the specified tire from Jeep. I went to return them and they said I have to wait 24hrs. I don't own a truck to haul these around in. I borrowed a truck. read more

Got an oil change. Customer service may as well have been a rude robot. I don't need smiles and small talk, but I do need to be listened to as a paying customer and competence from a service provider. To top this off, my oil pan was sealed with chemical sealant without permission or any mention to me. This was done because the extra 2 secs it takes to properly screw the pin wasn't taken AND it still wasn't sealed 100% because my car leaked oil. I'm more knowledgeable than average regarding cars so I can troubleshoot, but if I was someone else they may not have known to recognize the signs to look into from the leakage. The only issues I had was clicking the check in online doesn't work and I had to call in to let them know I was there. A produce I ordered was left out but it was brought out promptly. This location was great compared to the others in this area! From the phone call, to the service when I walked in. The ladies working the desk were amazing. The guys doing the work even offered me something to drink since I sat outside (it was nice out). Came in at 5 pm left at 6 pm with my 3 new tires. Quick and fast, and good work. It pains me to write this, but Walmart is constantly going downhill. I have been here 3 times in the last 3 days at different times of the day. And each time there were maybe 3-4 lines with cashiers. Which meant the lines were back into the clothes! Luckily, I don't mind using self checkout due to Covid, but that line was back into the food section!! Completely unacceptable! I go because of the convenience of it being a one stop shop, but oh my! I am by no means a Walmart fan to begin with. They were much better when they first started out and sold almost strictly U.S. made products. However, like a lot of people, there are times when Walmart is definitely the place to go for a lot of items. Other than the freak show of people you can see in the stores on a regular basis, I at least expect to find a modicum of cleanliness and maybe a touch of organization and service. Most Walmarts will provide you with at least a little bit. Every time I enter this Walmart it is very dirty, items placed anywhere they fit and a lot of disarray. Also, the customer service is less than zero. Even though I can be very gruff, direct and blunt, I am usually very friendly to people I first meet especially if they are in the service industry and working to help me. I truly do enjoy being friendly to strangers. However, every time I come in here it is like I am there to make their day miserable. Today was no exception. When I finally made it through the mess and found what I needed I went up to the counter and in a very friendly tone I said "Good morning ladies, how are you doing this fine morning?" Exactly what I said. Response, "Hi." Is it that hard to try and at least look like you might enjoy being alive? This place needs to really work on the motivation of the employees. This place appears to be a little dirtier and more worn than the Walmart on highway 64. Service has been ok and I have not experienced any super long lines. It does seem to be a little disorganized at times but I have always been able to find what I need. The parking lot is huge and there is a Murphy Gas Station here. I typically park near the garden center and enter the store there. You can spend 15 minutes circling at the main entrances before you get a good spot. read more

Went there with four others on a Saturday night to get five items and this is the worst experience ever at any location (from a Californian)! Self service line is the only good thing about it! I just went there to pay just a bottle water no problems due to two cashiers open with long slow lines. But moments later others went ONE slow cashier line around 10pm asked an associate why one register is opened she was rude telling it had to happen at this time!! They're still waiting 20 more minutes without moving one inch due to two ladies before us having cart of items;!suddenly a page announced that the second register is opened! Instead of directing us or the lady before us there, she helped the people behind us first (basically running there)! I wanted to get the manager cause we stood another 15 minutes until finally got checkout from rude male cashier Jim and he was unsympathetic when telling him what happened; but had things to do, get up early next morning and was late getting "home!@. The Wal-Mart in Cordova....ladies beware! Their lighting at the entrance to Pharmacy and Grocery is out!! I called tonight to make their security division aware. They told me that they are aware. Also Memphis Police does not have a car here tonight. I saw no other security patrolling the parking lot! There is a MPD camera in the parking lot but it is dark! Often crowded and parking can be far away. Baskets are often broken, noisy and wobbly. Not enough checkout lines open for the amount of people. Slow cashiers who aren't usually that friendly. Extremely difficult to find assistance while shopping, none of the workers actually say hello or ask if you need help, and good luck tracking someone down who actually might have an answer. Produce often bad quality or on the brink of spoiling. Machines in the self check out area often disfunctioning. Definitely parefer Target over Walmart but the prices are lower here. read more

This review is based on the new "pickup" only. I was incredibly impressed with how Walmart rolled out (pun intended) its new system. It's helpful for people who have pets and/or kids and I happen to fit both of those categories. It's easy to use online and for first timers they give you a $10 off coupon. In order to use this, you need to spend at least $30. Once you pay online, they send you a confirmation email. They also give you a call stating that your order is ready. I received mine 15 mins before the confirmed hour. Before arrival, you call a phone # and an employee comes rolling out with your items. The person that rolled out my stuff was extremely nice. He referred to me as Mr and helped unload. He also said that Walmart if they don't have an item that you ordered will refund you. Also if you bought a generic brand and they only have the name brand, they'll give you the name brand and will not charge the $ difference. In other words, you never lose. Also upon arrival, I received a goodie bag filled with samples and coupons. I can see this going extremely well. It should also help inside by cutting down on those long wait lines. When I began my WIC shopping, I had problems discerning the appropriate WIC items as there were no labels indicating the correct products. Then, when I attempted to check out, I was told this location was not accepting the new WIC cards until May. They were sympathetic yet could only explain they were not equipped to do the WIC cards which began this year. Last month, I had purchased WIC items, with the new card, at a Walmart location in Tennessee but outside of Shelby County, and had no problems. It's very inconvenient to need to find another location when such a large corporation should be up-to-date with state programs that offer assistance. I was able to go to Kroger, easily find the clearly marked WIC items, and check out with no problems. It was a 30-40 minute difference in shopping. read more

All Walmart's are bad in levels of quality and service but this one tops the cake for the worst! Asked 5 people in the toy, sports and seasonal section for help and all were very rude, one guy even said he didn't care to try to help! I am only writing this review as a pure ventilation, Walmart management or HQ could probably care less. The customer service in the electronic department sucks butt cheeks, no seriously real live bonafide butt cheeks. I was in dire need of another phone today, after calling to verify that this store did indeed show 6 in their system crazy me had the audacity to map this location & actually walk through the doors & venture into to this God forsaken place underneath a sign labeled "Electronics". After looking where the phone should have been not to see any, we stood around for 10 - 15 minutes waiting on person wearing "blue'. Finally after a bit one the elusive "blue" ones appears, understandably she is dealing with another customer. No problem, I will wait. Well, wait indeed after another 10 minutes of witnessing a who's on first type of conversation regarding Trac Phones. I politely asked to interrupt to ask a brief question. Keep in mind I never once got a "just one sec ma'am I will be right with you". The Trac Phone conversation was obviously running it's course & needed closure it was turning into unrelated small talk. After my excuse me, just need to ask a quick question I was literally hushed verbally and with a hand motion by the lady in "blue". CTFU! Lady one word "multitask"! We ended up leaving to drive 20 mins to another "blue zone" just to find out the original location had the only available in stock inventory. I did call to discuss my disapproval with a manager 8 more minutes. Overall what should have taken 30 minutes ended up taken 2 1/2 hours with the 2 trips to this location and 1 trip to the other, 19 minutes & 32 sec with another inventory verification call (keep in mind none were out on the floor & we were told to call back so she could physically check the "cage" stock). Add in calling back for an additional 5 mins to get an answer regarding cage inventory then final trip to actually make a purchase. At this point Walmart owes me money. If "WMT" was in my stock portfolio I would sell just because. Ugggggghhhh! read more

Not a great Wal-Mart for food, and some of the worst customer service I have seen in a Wal-Mart, and that is saying something... This store has been the most difficult store to get help in and when you do track someone down (usually they hang out in groups by the old lay away area) they get all sorts of huffy, with sighs and "I will page someone". After watching the return area, while waiting to check out, I refuse to buy any food products from this location. They take the cold products like raw chicken and let it sit for hours at a time and then return to shelf (yes, when I realized I forgot something, I watch someone put this back on the shelf and put all my gorcery's back. Because I DO NOT need food bourne illness due to food sitting out. I guess clothing standards have changed for the staff, nothing like seeing spandex on anyone who is fighting the battle of the bulge stocking a shelf with a little crack and hair exposure. Overall, unless I am going for home improvement items, Kroger and even Target seem to match most of Wal-Marts Food Prices and I NEVER see food just sitting out those store spoiling. And Get this....They have people who will stop and ask you if you need any help, you dont' even have to hunt them down! read more

Slow customer service during grocery pick up. Staff lax and Manager seems not to care about customer's long wait time, more than 45 minutes for pre-ordered order. I spoke to 3 different associates, Kendall, Ahmaud, and one whose name I am unable to recall, that told me the order would be right out. On the last call into the store, I requested to speak with a manager because the last employee, Ahmaud, stated to me that he had the phone the entire time and I had not called. Lie number 1. He then put Marcellus on the phone who seemed equally unconcerned, did not apologize and only said the order would be right as it was now number 3 in the que. Mind you I had already waited 30 minutes, was the only car in the pick up area before this latest call, and had already made a run into the store and purchased items and still came out to no groceries(someone was in the care to accept the order) and Manager told me that he won't take the blame and is not accountable for the screw up and confusion. It's a huge Walmart. Got a full grocery store. It also has fabric which most Walmarts have gotten rid of. But...I saw 1 associate in all the time I was there. The layout is confusing and the lights. The freakin' lights. About 18 of the lights in the store were flickering. When they flicker like that it is because they are about to die. They were flickering at different intervals too which means some had been dying for longer than others. I'm amazed it didn't trigger a migraine. I wouldn't go there if you are sensitive to light or get seizures. Other than the flickering lights the place just seems dingy. It's huge and the signs directing you to the departments aren't well placed. read more
