Historically, I've always used competitors so was a bit leery using National and not sure about the service, quality, etc. National Car Rental in Phx exceeded all of my expectations! To start off with, Joy at the counter was super friendly and helpful! I had just had a rough disembarkation (because we had to wait for an open gate) but she was quick to help and get me on my way, with clear instructions that the next person would help me get my vehicle and with the understanding, friendliness, customer service we don't always see anymore. When I reached the parking lot, I was told I could choose any vehicle between the rows I was told. I couldn't believe it. The selection was incredible! I couldn't help but think I'd be charged more because I booked a smaller vehicle but ended up choosing a smaller SUV. Nope, same price. The Jeep Compass was clean, worked perfectly and was a great fit for my visit. Checking back in was also super friendly and efficient. After a quick greeting and check of the vehicle, Aiden made sure I was happy with my vehicle, if I had any questions, concerns, how it could've been better, etc. I've rented from others before where I was told to just throw the keys on the dash and that was the end of our interaction. National made the effort for a friendly, customer-driven experience every chance they had to ensure a high level of satisfaction. I didn't download the app or become a member because I wasn't sure it'd be worth it but if every National Rental Car is as friendly and accommodating as the PHX Airport site, I think I may have a new favorite car rental company! Big thanks to the National PHX Airport team for making the car rental experience one of the best I've had to date!

Most recently, I rented a car for a week and after taking the train to the rental car center, I was able to skip the desk and head straight to the Emerald Aisle to pick any available car. I would highly recommend setting up an account with National and taking advantage of this.... being able to skip a line at the counter is a blessing. In any event, we went to the aisle, picked out our car and were off after a brief stop at the gate to check everything. Return was also quick and painless. Josh did a thorough inspection of the car, which we returned with a full tank and in pristine shape, and we were on our way in no time. It's amazing how frictionless the experience can be, as opposed to how awful other companies (I'm looking at you Hertz) can make it. I highly recommend National.

Picked up the car, rear bumper showing signs of obvious accident damage, car dirty, windows even worse, smelled like old perfume inside. I called while at vehicle pick-up location to see about getting a different car and was told " this will need to be approved by your host". I should have turned around and left right then. Ended up taking the car and the nightmare begins, car riding rough, pulling to one side, vibration in the front end. I get home and come out 2 hours later to find the car running and the defrost was on high and all the on HOT! Keep in mind it's already 95 defreees outside , now add the defrost on high and hot. I could not even get in the car it was so hot inside. This happened 6 times while I had the car causing the battery to go dead and lose charge and costing me more. Next day I charge the car at Tesla Supercharger and it was like 27 dollars. The next thing I know, I pick up a passenger at the airport and the car won't move, I was in panic mode, called in and was told that since I went over the allowed $25 max charging amount that the vehicle is disabled until I make a payment. This happened another 4 times. Every time you call, you get the voicemail telling you they don't take calls, you must send them a text. They have a 3rd party company ZEVO who handles part of the rental process and they handle part so if you call about something with the remote or the payment you have to talk to one and if. it they text you and tell you that they don't handle that part of it and you need to contact the rental company directly or vice versa and you can never get anyone on the line and you're texting all day trying to get something resolved. It's an absolute joke. Then the front truck kept popping up while driving and I'd have to stop and close it or sometimes it would happen while parked and the car won't move until you close it. They would not offer me any sort of discount or credit at all , and basically told me to go fly a kite. STAY AWAY FROM HART AND FROM ANYTHING THAT SAYS ZEVO. YOULL THANK ME LATER!

They changed their quality and they're very disrespectful and rude. I will not be booking with these people again. I highly suggest that you save your money because five $500 to almost $1000 is not enough for cars that are damaged. Broken mileage is over the limit. Stereos are broken trunks are broken headlights scratches on the vehicle and then they want to claim that you're responsible for any damages or destruction of property. No, don't get me wrong. The man that works there that I am familiar with is very respectful and very kind and is very professional and keeps a level head. He always accommodate me and is willing to work with me on all occasions the man that I just talked to don't know who he is, but he was very rude and disrespectful and decided to hang up in my face. The first time I had called they have given me very nice cars and I don't have a problem with the vehicle vehicles but the way that that man talk to me, made me very upset and made me feel like my business wasn't value.
