If you value integrity and don't want to be ripped off, don't hire J&J Heating/Air and Plumbing. I…read morecontacted them to have my HVAC serviced and checked out for the pending summer heat, and to have plumbing services (constant running of a toilet, driving me crazy). My initial interaction with Lisa was assuring--she was polite, professional and transparent (mostly before the fact). She explained there would be a separate fee for each service call, in addition to any work done-- $79 for HVAC and $75 for plumbing. She also said, if needed, a customer supplied toilet installation would cost $350, which admittedly, she acknowledged was pricey, and that I was not obligated for the install. The HVAC service technician came out first and no problems here. The next day the plumber came. He informed me that the constant running was an issue with the make of the toilet and to fix it would be more than the cost of a new one. We happened to have a new, unopened toilet on hand and my husband suggested we install it. However, I said I thought the price tag for the install was a bit too much. That's when he said he would install it for $250, so I agreed. Here is where the lack of honesty and integrity began. After removing the toilet, two extended trips to Loews were made; the first was to purchase a flange that he said needed replacing and the second to purchase H2O lines. Why didn't they know new lines were needed, they had the toilet specs and experience. When all was said and done the cost to me was $550. Now I expected to pay for the flange and H2O lines, but $225, NO WAY, I've bought both these items several times in the past. The cost combined, on the highest end shouldn't have been more than $40. When I questioned him, he tried to tell me that this is what it cost to replace the flange. I was livid, paid him, and decided I would take it up with the company. I called to ask for a detailed invoice and Lisa said they didn't break down the labor from the parts, they just charged a flat fee (she didn't explain this initially). When I received the invoice via email, it read--repair toilet flange $225. So now it went from a replacement to a repair, obviously to justify the cost. Even if that wasn't the case, what happen to communicating with the client regarding "work changes." Again, I wasn't going to share my experience, but, when trying to dispose of it, a rep from the City of WR said the bulk pick-up policy for toilets had changed in the last two years and that the "contractor" should have disposed of it as a courtesy or as apart of the cost. For $550, you damn right he should have!

So I said nope take it back out. That's highway robbery to never give a price before he put it in. So he took it back out he said he still had to charge me for the service charge so I paid him cash on the spot and he left. Now they're sending me a bill for close to $200 claiming that he did put brand new parts in and that I never paid. Scam robbery. Stay away.

I found Reliable online and they had a call out fee of $89, which I know is basically my personal penalty for not knowing anything about plumbing. I set up an appointment for Saturday afternoon, knowing that I would be home. I received a courtesy call from Joe when he was on his way over. Joe was professional, friendly and knowledgeable, and helped me understand the problem. He was in and out of my home in less than 15 minutes, and I kind of learned how to address these types of issues in the future so I am very grateful. Thank you to Joe for making my problems go away quickly. Now I can address them since I was able to learn why my drain was bad, and not keep tossing drain cleaner down and wasting money. I'm noting Reliable for any needs moving forward!

Hello, I am writing…read moreto express my frustration and disappointment regarding both the ongoing HVAC issue in my home and the treatment my family has received throughout this process. This is the second time this air conditioning unit has failed, and my family has been without adequate cooling since Wednesday night. My maintenance request was submitted before the recent storm, yet we are still waiting for resolution while the temperature inside our home has reached 85 degrees. What has been even more concerning is the level of customer service we have received. My husband contacted the HVAC company first and was met with rudeness and a lack of professionalism. His experience is what prompted me to call personally. If the owner or representative of the company claims that I was rude during our conversation, it is important to note that I was calling only after my husband had already been treated disrespectfully. During my call, I was informed that my house was likely going to become even hotter, and the conversation ended with me being hung up on twice. Being treated this way while trying to get assistance for my family during an emergency situation is unacceptable. Meanwhile, my family continues to sleep in excessive heat while waiting for repairs. I also have a child who suffers from allergies, making these living conditions even more concerning. We understand that weather events and weekends can create delays, but we should not be left without communication, answers, or a clear plan for resolution.
