I'm not the type of person to get my nails done, 9 times out of 10 I walk away unhappy cos of the shape or a bump or in pain and cut. Just my luck, so I haven't bothered in a while. I decided to treat myself a few weeks ago and saw nothing but good reviews for this place. I was a walk-in and they had room for me so I was waiting to pick a color and I watched another girl getting her nails done with a gradient from black to gold holo and I fell in LOVE with the way they looked so I asked for the same thing lol just a different holo-powder color. They sat me down and Lily did my manicure. She was SOOO gentle and listened to everything I wanted, I've never had my nails shaped or the length I wanted them before. Once she finished up, Kelly came over and did a beautiful black and rainbow holo gradient. THEY WERE BOMB!!!!! I loved them so much and I was treated so good while there, they actually talked to me, which also never happens in my precious experience of going to the nail salon. I left happy and knew I'd be back. My nails grow super fast so I went in yesterday for my fill and to get them trimmed cos I realized I can't do super long nails lol. I made an appointment for after work and walked in and they accidentally double booked, But Kelly was super sweet about it and I didn't mind. Kelly came and got me from my car and I ended up sitting with Lee (or Leigh, sorry for spelling). OMG SUCH A SWEETHEART!! She also listened to everything I wanted and talked to me and we laughed a bunch. She sang a lot during the fill and that made my heart happy :) I showed her what I wanted and she was like oh I got this, and when I went to show her the picture again she shooed my phone away playfully. She really did get it and my valentines nails turned out so good!!!! She even gave me all my files and stuff in a ziplock bag for me to take home. I felt safe and sanitary the whole time there! I love this place and HIGHLY recommend it! My new spot for sure :) read more

I came here for the first time today for a full set and deluxe pedicure, first since before COVID and first since I moved to Tacoma. I will definitely be coming back! The ladies here are super duper nice and really took their time making sure I left flawless. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I say she nailed it and then some! The deluxe pedicure was excellent and very relaxing. I need them to teach my husband how to rub my feet the way they do lol The salon is very pleasant and clean. It helps that right now they're only doing appointments so it's not the overcrowded, chaotic scene you'd normally see at any given nail place on a Saturday afternoon. read more

I normally don't leave reviews, but I've been so irritated so many times here that I must share my experience to help prevent it from happening to you! I really want to like this place because it is so convenient for me ...but I've only had one decent experience out of the six times I've gone here. So that's my last chance, The guy that runs it is friendly enough, but the ladies (his wife and her sister) all seem rushed and they are always in a hurry. Prices are pretty nitpicky too.... it was $48 to get a French tip fill today and I said what is the extra three dollars for? He said that's because they cut them shorter, I said I didn't even get them cut shorter?...she filed them down slightly? He told me that counts as a cut and put the three dollar charge on it anyways. Beware of the prices here. read more

I went with friends to get pedis, and all three of us agreed afterwards that we would go back happily. All three of our technicians were fabulous! The people there were so kind, skilled, and fun--best pedi experience I've had in a while! The shop is small but not crowded. Try them out, for sure! read more

The more i look at my nails the moee embarrased i am that i have to walk around like this. I wasnt upset that my appt started late. But once i was sat down for my full set it felt really rushed. And the results pretty clearly indicate that not a lot of time or care was put into them. I requested short almond shaped. When sizing them and asked foe a bit shorter the tech literally just grunted at me. I dont even know what i wouod call these. Besides just bad. The shape is inconsistent. The pinky is ao crooked and the thumb is totally uneven. And then the polish application was even bad read more

Love love love! This was my first time here. Going in my goal was to have my nails come out to $25 because every time i go to a nail salon it does NOT come out to the base price because of some hidden fee unfortunately. Thee (i think idk how to spell her name :() did my nails. I called and they said come in 20mins. I came in and picked my color, got seated immediately. I wanted short/medium nails, straight shaped with nail polish on top. Thee was so sweet! She was chatting with me and I enjoyed that, she's very sweet and kept making sure my nails were what I wanted them to be! I have FINALLY found my home nail salon. I've gotten so accustomed to the front desk person looking displeased at my arrival and only communicating through finger pointing. This place had such a welcoming, friendly face that the shock prevented me from having a coherent conversation. SO MANY POLISH COLORS. I changed my mind about three times before settling on a teal-ish Tiffany blue. Already received compliments on the choice. The nail technician was so patient and didn't rush through the process which I truly appreciated. To be fair, there wasn't a wait of people after my arrival, but I'd like to assume this is the general practice. My only two gripes (so small, I swear): I didn't get assistance bringing my belongings to the drying station, and the top coat was put on haphazardly midway the drying session (refer to photo of side-of-nail). Ok so! I went to a salon Friday and they butchered the job completely. It's my birthday week and my nails were thick, crooked, the wrong color and flipped up. My friend recommend this spot, I couldn't be more grateful. My appointment was ready and I was able to add on a pedicure as well! Within 15 minutes Ly fixed my nails without having to take off and restart. I'm very satisfied especially since she didn't overcharge working on someone else's work. I explain what happened and she was happy to hook me up. Communication of great here and the work is excellent! If you're clear on what you want/expect I'm sure you'll leave satisfied! Also-- pedicures are great and unless you do something really fancy the prices are pretty solid avg 30/40$ for most things including gel! Thank y'all for everything! read more

Unfortunately I am still not having any luck finding a quality nail salon in Tacoma. This place overcharged me intentionally. I was charged $85 for acrylic nails with a solid gel color (purple). They charged me $75 for my daughter with exact same style with a different color (blue). The lady told me she had to charge me more because my nails were longer than my daughters but you will see in the picture they are the exact same length. My gel pedicure which was $35, they charged an extra $23 more for a simple flower with 1 diamond in the center on my big toe. All together total $218. Not to mention this place has an ant problem. They have small ants crawling on the tables that are already filthy. The pedicure chairs sound run down & the water makes gurgle noises. Its Thee audacity for me. I was polite i paid and i left. No tip. They dont deserve it. read more

She was also 45 minutes late to our appointment, texting me that she was late just a few minutes before, while I was already parking. When I told her and the salon owner, Jolene Dittmar, that my scalp was burned, neither took responsibility. Trena want to do yet another correction, which of course I refused. I wasn't going to let her hurt me again. Jolene three weeks later after much back and forth, said she would refund my $200. She did not. She also complained to me that Trena was hard to talk to due to her personality, so she couldn't address it with Trena. My scalp burned for four days, I had sores all over it for three weeks, and it finally is mostly healed now four weeks later. I've never written a bad review of a salon, and certainly never complained. I'm 59 years old, a retired school teacher, I have colored my hair all my adult life, and I NEVER had a scalp problem before. I am reporting to the Cosmetology board and to the state Consumer protection department. Here's exactly what happened: * I booked a full cut, color, and style appointment for warm dark blonde - auburn color. My wavy hair was just longer than my shoulders. I did not have bangs or layers. The color was a light ash blond. We had a text consultation in advance. * Trena changed the appointment time at the last minute, when I was finding parking for the appointment. * Made me wait even longer while she took a consult (non paying!) client. In all, she was about 45 minutes late starting my appointment. She then seemed to have forgetten everything about our text consultation. * Trena left the salon for over 30 minutes while the chemicals were processing, instead of staying and checking on it. * Trena overprocessed the coloring because she was not in the salon, and it was bright orange--the color I said multiple times I wanted to avoid at all costs. I wanted a warm dark blond / brown. It's not auburn or copper or caramel. Day glow orange. Trena reacted very nervously and said we could correct it with a second darker color. * Trena tried to tell me I didn't need a cut, but then said she'd trim following the preexisting lines. She then fushed the cut (spent literally two to three minutes on it) and chopped several very short chunks totally unevenly. The right side ended up with chunks 3-4 inches shorter. One area has a chunk that is 6-8 inches shorter (at my ear level). * Trena then told me to style it myself at the end (!). She seems to be rushing me out. (She probably was.) I ended up leaving with my hair still wet, after sitting (mostly alone) in the salon for three hours. * Did not wash out the dye completely. It was 45 minutes while I drove home, plus 15 minutes in the salon. My scalp was burning. * I washed out dye when I got home. It was absolutely dye, not just normal washout from the hair. I scraped dye off my scalp. * My scalp developed a dozen or more sores from the chemical burn. These did not heal until three weeks later. I only used shampoo twice in that time. I did apply Cera Vie every other day to the scalp (dermatologist recommended). Also, the salon is not spa like at all. Normally, I don't care what a place looks like, but their website very much misrepresents the place. Not only do they NOT STAND BEHIND their work, it is an sparse, uncomfortable environment. I'm 5'4" and if you are shorter, your head won't reach the sinks. Jolene later said they adjust, Trena said they did not adjust, but either way, no one bothered to adjust for me and they were both there during my fiasco. I will try to add a few photos. Price $200+ Stylist Trena Hair Master or Hair Wizard Ansari Yelp is not letting me add photos, but I will do so. I am sure they will write a review using character assassination. Trena basically told me I was lying, Jolene told me she'd refund my $200 and did not, and tried to claim it was an allergic reaction even though I've dyed my hair 40 years without ever having a reaction. They refused to take any responsibility. Not even an apology, though there was a check in by Jolene three weeks later. Note, I am a normal 59 year old, who has never written a review like this, a retired teacher, and I only want to keep others from being hurt. It's now four weeks later, and I still have three sores but mostly healed.

I want to start by saying…read moreI am a licensed MASTER esthetician myself that graduated from Clover Park Tech in 2021 who then went and got further education for to be a Laser Technician I went to get my Brazilian waxed for the first time in my life and I left feeling mortified, shamed, and was treated in a manner I would never treat a client. Betty scolded me and made remarks about my body and stretch marks while I was in my most vulnerable state. She had a Trainee wax me post putting me on the spot and while being waxed, some of the wax had accidentally gotten flicked onto Betty's scrubs. She then used the trainee's hand that had just been waxing me to remove the wax from her scrub to then put the same hand back onto my private area being completely unsanitary. As a licensed esthetician I knew it was unhygienic and as a woman I was in a vulnerable position and mortified. Her after care kit consisted of bath and body works 'warm vanilla sugar' hand sanitizer that she instructed me to use to sanitize my private area. This product should NEVER be used NEAR or ON your private area and especially not on open follicles that can lead to bacteria, infection, and irritation. She also said to use Curel lotion to soothe the area after using hand sanitizer. This kit was a joke and so was her business. I paid full price for an UNLICENSED trainee to wax me while being simultaneously humiliated by this businesses owner.

This place is absolutely amazing! I've been going here for over 2 years and I have never had an issue, they use the highest quality products furthermore if you break a nail in between your feel they will fix it for free. Kelly is my nail technician and Lee does my pedicures and I've been getting my nails done for 25 years is absolutely the most cleanest nicest atmosphere I've ever had my nails done, and they are always beautiful. I made an appointment the day prior for 9:30am. I had a gentleman as my nail tech, I showed him long oval nails, he glued on my pinky nail crooked so he had to remove the glued nail off and try again. I started to get nervous. My nails took half the time as others in, I'm assuming they are regulars for the new salon. He got acrylic all over my skin around my nails and just left it. I paid $75 plus tip for a full set with chrome finish. When i got home to look at my nails, there is a gap between the fake nail and my nails. Literally every nail was not glued on properly. I was going to go back to see if they would rectify my badly done nails, but I dont think I would go back anyways. Im so sad! Unique Nails was my favorite, i believe Dan was my regular. And now its different, and after the rushed set with acrylic all over my skin, I am saddened. I will not be returning, and I recommend anyone that goes to double check they glued the nail on properly. Make sure they do quality work so you dont end up like me. Im sure I will have to get my nails redone very soon. It took me so long to find a regular spot, now Im back to square one I am not sure if the nail tech was new or not, but I feel like I totally got ripped off.

About 30 minutes later the lady who originally did my nails came in. After the man was done she asked him a question about my nails. Even though it wasn't in English I knew because he shook his hair and pointed to the top of his nail. He repeated himself a couple times and kept pointing to his finger so I can only assume he was reiterating that my nails were cracked. The station I was told to sit at when I had to go back was dirty from the day before. Clipped tips were all over the floor, the towel from the day before was on the station with clippings and acrylic drops. The tools from both visits were not clean and rusty. The nail brushes to wash your nails were all first and has that reddish algae that builds up at the base. I gave 2 stars because the man to redid my nails was very nice! I will definitely not be going back to that salon.

I don't know about you, but I can tell the difference between real or fake nails, and I don't even work on them professionally. When I got angry with her about it she acted like I was the problem and made me feel absolutely horrible so now two weeks later I am still dealing with having a ripped off toenail that I'm praying to the gods that it ends up growing back in and staying. I don't know if it will, but I will never be going back this nail salon for as long as I live. If I could give zero stars I would. So disgusting.
