On a recent Saturday trek out to Printemps to take advantage of the last days of the soldes I found myself starving to death midway through the walk. How was there nothing open? Not even a bakery, or one of those over-, under-designed expensive health food chains like Cojean? I started to panic. Then, just as I began accepting our worst case scenario (the food stalls at Galeries Lafayette) I noticed a friendly looking awning with a goofy name and glowing lights inside. Salvation! Krêp (I love the name!) is a sit-down or take-away crepe restaurant with an air of Scandinavian chic. The blue and wood design is simple and tasteful and the chalkboard menu filled with many tempting sweet and savory options. The crepes are relatively inexpensive and freshly made right before your eyes. My goat cheese and tomato crepe was crispy on the edges and fluffy on the inside, with a nice crepe to filling ratio. There's also a cute selection of pantry items, like sarrasin flour and cider that you can purchase to go. All in all it was the perfect spot to gather our resources before a few hours of intense bargain hunting, plus a quiet location to feed our little tyke too. read more

Despite the orgy of crepe places here, I'd still come back, even more for the owner's great service. came here on the last day after checking out nearby, only a 5 min walk from The Grand. Decor-wise, almost un-French like, with this bright blue but I digress. Good selection, in addition to a bit confusing set menus based on colour, but owner patient enough to explain. Before we ordered the sausage-like, he cautioned that it tasted a bit different, and boy, glad that we did. Almost brie-like, liver-like, a combo of both lol. Arrived in Paris and we were starving after checking into our hotel! Noticed this place on yelp, and decided to go because it was close. Anxiety kicked in when I realized how little French we really know, but the employees were very kind and helped us figure out what was best for us! We each got a ham and cheese, and then the butter Carmel for dessert and they were both divine! Probably going to make another stop or two here during our stay! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Easy, casual take-out place with some tables. English menus available, and friendly service. I only had galettes/crepes twice in Paris but these was better than another highly rated crepe place on Yelp that was an actual sit-down place. Not as picturesque since it's served in the paper/cone and not on a plate, but seems to be geared more for locals/shoppers on the go (since this is near the Haussman shopping area). I ate in though. They are made quickly and piping hot. Galette was thin and crispy. Crepe was soft and fluffy. Not quite a destination stop, but highly recommend if you are in the area! I only wish crepe places were as common here in the states as they were in Paris! read more

You can opt for one of two set price menus, either 9 euros or 11.50 euros (I believe) which offer increasingly complex options for each of two crepes, a savory one (aka a galette) and a sweet one. Both options come with a drink. My sister tried the goat cheese galette and the nutella crepe (the lower priced menu) and I went with the smoked salmon galette and apple crisp dessert crepe. After 4 days in Paris, I finally thought to Yelp a place for breakfast. We loved it. The atmosphere is casual and modern. What I love most: there is a crepe for everyone. My kids love Nutella crepes, which can be found on every corner, but my husband and I like the more savory types. I had one with egg and ham (oef et jambon). My husband had ham and cheese (jambon et fromage). The crepe is served folded into a triangle and slipped into a bamboo paper sleeve so they are great on the go. One crepe is big enough to be very filling for one person. In fact, we opted not to order the dessert crepe to go because we were completely satisfied. Other crepes on the menu ranged from sugar, to butter, to nutella, to lemon, to carmel apple, to goat cheese and various meat combinations.. They even offer gluten free options. We ordered our crepes at the counter but some people sat outside and it looked like they were waited on. My kids enjoyed watching their crepes being made. Not related, but noteworthy, their bathroom is clean. A refreshing change from the restrooms at other restaurants. read more

We ordered the ham, cheese, and mushroom, my wife's dough was overcooked and mine was a bit salty but I guess that's the ham. Being here in France, I really wanted to eat a good, crispy "crêpe bretonne". Some of the most recommended places on yelp were closed for vacation, but we ran into this place randomly around lunchtime. It was exactly the kind of crispy crêpes I was looking for! They call the savory crêpes "galettes," and dessert crêpes are called "crêpes". We had two ham and cheese "galettes" plus a medium-sized salad (salade garnie) with one drink and it cost about 16 euros. They have some combos but they were not what I was looking for. I wished they had a savory crêpe (galette) + salad combo. Still, I was happy with the meal; it was good for a quick stop for a late lunch, and the waitress was very nice. It was much, much better (and cheaper) than the other crêpes we had at some random, "general" French restaurant for tourists where we ate near the Eiffel tower earlier this week.
