The service is very smiley and efficient BUT the quality of bread is going down fast. The baguette is not "raised" most of the time. That changes the taste and not for the better. Either they changed artisan at the 28 Beaumarchais OR they increase the production without taking the time to allow the dough to raise before baking. read more

Oh Maison Landemaine - you charming beauty. Hands down best croissant I've ever had. Try the butter variety, it will change your life. Was in town for business for a very short three night stay and this lovely little patisserie was thankfully a block or so away from our hotel. Ended up taking a few packs of macarons for my coworkers back home and also a couple of croissants and madeleines for my hubby. They survived the long journey home and were met with rave reviews. Hope I can come back again someday to try some more of their beautiful pastries! read more

This was around the corner from our hotel, and we saw a long line outside, so we decided to try out some of their baked goods. - Croissant: not bad but not life changing - Baguette: great texture and flavor. Why can't we easily get baguettes like this in the US?? At the end of the day, to pay €2.50 for a croissant and baguette that were freshly baked, I really cannot complain. UPDATE - 5 stars for the service. I came back to get some baguettes to mule home (they were aghast it wouldn't be consumed fresh but were very kind about it..). The staff helped me cut the baguettes and put them in plastic bags so they could last better on the plane a so thoughtful and helpful! Came back for - - Chocolate and pistachio financiers (€0.70) - Chocolate almond croissant (€2) - Chocolate croissant: skip Both were hot deals. And also the 7am baguette traditional and de campagne are both amazing literally fresh out of the oven. read more

My favorite bakery because of its location and quality of food. Everything I had here was delicious, from basic plain croissants to dessert items to baguette sandwiches. The coffee (cappuccino) is not that good. This is definitely a place where you wanna get food, not drinks. They are usually busy with locals and construction workers coming in. It is more of a place to get something quick to go. I don't think I've ever had friendly service here. They are pretty no-nonsense and want you to order quickly and leave. read more

Absolutely no reason to give this place anything but top marks, even if it's a small chain around the city (hey - more of them to go to).. This one wins for cuteness though, with its exterior not quite as modern as some of the other ones. With the picturesque storefront comes a lack of space (others are roomier), with only two small tables outside. Everything we tried was delicious - just make sure to ask them to warm your item up if it's needed. Service was perfectly French - assistive but you better know what you want in that busy place. Parisian boulangeries swarm the city and we, the pedestrians, close our eyes, point our finger, and hope to land on something good. We usually do. It's just the law of the land that baguettes will be divine and perfect wherever you go, and croissants will be flakier than an online blind date in 2018. I chanced upon this one, and couldn't pass by. Dunno why. And the financiers were delish (esp. the pistachio ones), the roasted veggie quiche was great even though I looked like an American monster as I ate it out of my open palm while walking the boulevard.... But the memory maker was a white chocolate raspberry something - brioche? danish? hunk of bread? I do not know. But it had white chocolate and raspberry in it and was shaped like a football, but tasted so much more tender (tenederer?). A lovely choice right by the big Bastille monument. read more

We found this place via yelp and we weren't disappointed! It was only a 10 minute walk from our hotel and we just HAD to get some bakery goodness before leaving Paris. We kept it simple and ordered a quiche, a butter croissant and a chocolate croissant. I wish we had a few more days here so we could have enjoyed this every day we were there! Naturally, we came on our last morning, because that's just how it goes. When the bf bit into the quiche, he couldn't help the "mmm's!" coming and I couldn't disagree, when he let me have a taste. The croissants were so light and flavorful, just delicious! If they had seating, I'm sure we would have eaten what we had and gotten a lot more. Instead, we took it back to our room so that we could finish packing. Bummer! read more

On the way to the Sunday Bastille Market, we dropped by Maison Landemaine for croissants and a baguette. Although the line was out the door, service was remarkably quick. One person would take orders and another would process payment. Very efficient so don't let the long lines deter you. The croissants were flaky and the baguette exterior was crisp and interior chewy and moist (and a bargain at 1.30 euro!) There are no seats or tables so you'll have to take your baked goods to go. read more

So much to choose from; nothing disappoints. You can start with l'Express. For €2 you'll get an espresso and a croissant (chocolat/beurre). Take away a few more delights in a bag for later. I visited 'early' (8:00) on a December Saturday morning before sunrise and the neighbourhood felt like a ghost town. Nary a pedestrian in sight. Don't let that dissuade you. I've visited this neighborhood bakery on the border of the Southern Marais twice in three days. Fantastic chocolate croissant, almond croissant and quiche Lorraine with true lardons --- the best. The almond croissant here in Paris are different - laden with almond paste and almost smashed flat, but incredibly tasty (there is a negative review about this, but the three bakeries I've visited make their almond croissant in a similar style unlike the US). Great service, empty in the morning (830 AM...). I'm going again tomorrow morning and every morning until we leave. read more

This boulangerie is a chain of stores. The first location is near Bastille and is worth a visit for its gorgeous tile work outside. The reason I love this chain is there consistency. No matter which store I go to I will always get delicious breads baked the same way at all there locations. I first found them on there store new Rue Beaumarcheis and one great thing is there super close to a coffee house, Fromagerie, and a Butcher. All the things you need to make a perfect Parisian picnic. read more

Not worth the calories or the money. The chocolate almond croissant and almond croissant were both very soggy and the ham and cheese croissant was made with poor quality ingredients. The service was extremely unpleasant. I would not recommend this place to an enemy. Look elsewhere. read more
