Awesome tattoo place!! Went for their friday the 13th $13 flash. Though it was so crowded and crazy, we stuck it out long enough to get our tattoos. The artists were insane for working all day long, past midnight, and got our tattoos done so fast. The place also gave out free pizza and cupcakes and thanked us constantly for waiting. So yesterday I got my very first tattoo and it was on my spine. Yes - I know, I was bold af and also hella mentally unprepared for, it lol. But luckily my artist was Sin! He took his time to walk me through everything: from what to expect, breathing techniques, possible pain levels, and made sure everything was perfectly aligned before starting. When we were about to begin, he and the rest of the staff at the shop hyped me up (thanks everyone!). And as soon as he started? I felt nothing. Sin was quick, precise, detailed and very light handed. I was originally only going to do half of my back piece in two sessions, but then we ended up staying late and finished it all in one night. 4 hours, a couple 15-minute breaks and a whole finished piece later, and I was absolutely amazed at how great of a job he did! I still have a few touch ups and cross to add, but wow! So far, I'm already in love with my tattoo. I've gotten tons of compliments on the crisp lines and intricate details he did! Sin is an amazing artist, I highly recommend you check out his work and set up a consultation. 2/5 because I did get a refund for my infected helix. But I feel like I should still write a review of my experience for others. Came in asking for a conch, helix, and then lobes. Conch and lobes are healing just fine, but helix is so infected, I'm going to urgent care today. FYI, I got my first helix a couple weeks in Socal and it was healing fine. The piercer is new, so mistakes happen, but when it came time to pierce my second helix, he messed up, and pierced it too close to my first one. Okay... mistakes happen, but I then asked him if we should let that heal and I can always come back to get it repierced once the hole heals back up. He says it's fine to repierce it, and pierces again for my second helix. Everything seemed fine to me... but about a week later (now) my cartilage is really infected, and my lymph nodes are swollen, so to be safe I'm going to the doctors. They initially said that the infection could be for a couple of reasons, but the fact that it's infected in my helix where the mistake happen... I think it's safe to assume the reason why. I want to end it with, a refund was the least they could do, and mistakes do happen, but it's the fact that he reassured me that it was fine to repierce after his mistake and now I have to deal with this really sucks. but conch and lobe piercings are fine though! read more

Just finished my new piece with Tony and have to give him and this whole place a shout out! I have a few small tattoos from other tattoo shops before, but was looking to get a new, much bigger piece, and had a very certain idea in mind. Did my research and liked Tony's work, reached out, and was able to get a consult with him right off the bat. I described my idea to Tony and made an appointment to come back in a couple of weeks for my first session. My whole piece took 10 hours and 4 sessions to complete. Thank god for numbing cream. While I didn't use the cream when I got my outline, I'm so glad I made the decision to use it when getting all the shading done because it would have hurt like a mother. Tony took my original idea and revised it to insert his own ideas and I'm really glad he did. If we had gone with my original idea, I think a lot of detail that was important to me would have been sacrificed. I ended up just trusting him to do a good job, which he did. I also had an older, really dark piece, that he was able to seamlessly incorporate into the rest of my design. The other guys at the shop made me feel comfortable throughout all of my sessions as well. If I wanted a beer or a shot of hard liquor to get through the pain, that was readily provided to me. One guy even went out of his way to go to the liquor store next door to buy me some soda - great customer service. Definitely check out KT Dragon! read more

He is just not my tattoo artist anymore.. he is very personable and a professional. And the great thing was that it wasn't meaningless small and awkward talks.. it was a great conversation and I was already anxious to start planning my next piece. I've been wanting to get my back tattoo for years however just never found an artist I like and was also fear of the pain;) I went to KT to get my eyebrows tattoo. During my session for my brows, I heard Corey( also known as Inkkmann on Instagram) was a new artist that just moved from New Orleans and he's really good. I told Corey I've been wanting to get my back done for years however just never went through with it. Corey asked if I was serious about getting it done and what I had in mind? I told Corey I was thinking cherry blossoms and maybe a dragon. Corey start drawing and I would say it took him around two hours. He showed me the drawing and I was amazed because it was exactly what I had in mind. We started the first session that day and spent about five hours on the outline. I was in love with the tattoo just from the outline. After 5 sessions, 25 hours total my back piece was completed. I couldn't be more happy. I'm very happy I waited until I found the right artist. I chose this shop for my first tattoo, and it honestly could not have come out better. My artist was Linh, and since he knew I was a first-timer, he talked me through the whole process. He made sure I was completely comfortable before, during, and after my tattoo. At the end of it, he gave me an amazingly designed tattoo that was indicative of years of experience and dedication to the art. My first piece was a fu dog on my chest, I originally found him on Instagram @inkkmann.kt his fu dog stood out from the rest of the artists that I was looking at so I decided to email him. He got back quick and I booked a consultation with him. During the consultation, we went over all the details including pricing, placement, style, down payment, and all the little details. I liked my fu dog piece so much that I decided to come back a second time to extend my existing half sleeve that I got from another artist. Corey was able to blend together all of the pieces very smoothly even though my existing tattoo was done by someone else. The overall vibes in the tattoo shop were great, everyone in the shop was chill and friendly. The music is at a good volume and keeps everyone in a good mood. Overall experience is 10/10. Got my half sleeve or a koi fish, cherry blossom and lotus flower done here by Corey. Very professional and clean. He's very experienced and been doing this for awhile. Sat down for consultation and wen our design on his iPad. He'll ask to come in with like 3-5 Pinterest examples or ideas. He's very knowledgeable about the culture or Japanese tattoos and what they mean. You can't really ask for suggestions because I guess it's a rule because if they suggest someone or choose for you and you don't like it later you're gonna blame them. No charge for consultation but have to put a deposit down that goes towards the total cost. He charges by the hour, cheaper the longer you do. There's 5/10 minutes breaks in between for water or bathroom and if you go for the 8 hour session you get a longer break meal. He takes Venmo or cash. I had mine down freehand which was cool. Would definitely go back, expensive but you get the quality you pay for. read more

Because of the high reviews I decided to go in to look at the work books. I was amazed at how talented all the artists were! It was really hard to choose who I wanted but I decided on Quang because I found out he did work on one of my friends also. Quang is so nice and accommodating. I provided him with a lot of ideas and sometimes changed my mind about things at the last minute, but he was patient throughout the entire process and was able to draft something I liked. While he was tattooing me he'd tell me when and where he was going to start and asked if I was ok. I told him I was fine because his light touch actually tickled sometimes. I would definitely recommend him and can't wait for my next appointments!! Overall I noticed KT Dragon is really clean (I watched them spray down all the stations before and after clients and there's even a sign on the bathroom to keep the door closed). I am 30 hours into my back piece and totally loving it. I almost want to tell people not to come here, not because they aren't good but because it is so hard to get an appointment....but that is how it is with places that are good.... expect to pay a lot and wait 4 years or more... this place is good, affordable and you can get in usually within a month or two, depending on what you want and who it is. I have been going to Tony for about a little bit under a year now. I get ink done by him once a month. I gotta say that Tony is legit! I am getting a jacket that covers my back, chest, and quarter sleeves. Ive been to many tattoo shops before to explain my idea for my tattoo and many of them insisted that we start work right then and there. Tony told me to give him at least three months to come up with originals and placements. Im glad I listened to him because when I got back he had more ideas and various drawings and explanations for me and my theme. Tony and these guys are true artists that practice their craft. Before the line work Tony took out his 5-8 different colored pens and began to freestyle draw right on to my skin making sure that the lines blended with my build and that proportions were correct. I can truly say that no other person in the world has the same drawing/ink as I do on my body. I gotta say that this shop is super clean and the guys use fresh needles. There is always a cleaning, change, and covering of all surfaces that come in contact or are within reach of bodily fluids. I get constant praise and props for the ink I have on my body and its not even done yet! Wait until its all colored in. Ill update you guys when its close to done and when its done. read more

I really appreciate that he put up dividers to block out everyone in the shop since I got the tattoo on my side. After 5 years from my last tattoo, I finally decided it was time to add to my piece. I went with Cranes and a few more blossoms to add to my current Cherry Blossom Tattoo. Tony was excellent at designing so that it all flowed together. After 2 sessions and 7.5 hours later, my piece was completed and looked just like the sketch, if not better. This shop definitely knows what they're doing and any of the artists are good, in my opinion, but I guess it depends what you're trying to get. If you are looking to get any Asian inspired artwork, I highly recommend KT Dragon. Of course, they do other artwork too! Regardless, I had a good experience and was very satisfied with my final completed tattoo! It was definitely worth the money spent. And to be honest, their hourly rate isn't bad at all compared to other shops in San Jose or the Bay Area in general. The place is well kept and clean too, but heads up, parking can be pretty tough. So this review is specifically for TOMMY but overall all the guys @ the shop are really nice & funny as hell!! So this journey began back in AUGUST '09 when I walked in, talked to TOMMY & got the earliest appointment available which was November. (( This man has SKILLS so he gets booked up months in advanced. )) I emailed him some designs to cover up an existing flower tattoo I got YEARS ago. We came up with a Koi & Cherry blossom mural for my back (see photo posted) that took 2 sessions and over 8 hours to complete. Tommy was an absolute pleasure to work with & really accommodating to my busy schedule (he would text me if an earlier appointment opened up). He's passionate about his talent & takes pride in every piece that he does. THANKS TOMMY!! Side Note: This place is really on top of it when it comes to practicing their aseptic & sterile technique. All needles are from sterile packages, all countertops & equipment are wiped down & wrapped w/ plastic wrap. I also noticed that they would go a TON of gloves throughout the session whenever I needed a break, de-gloving & then putting on a pair of new gloves. This is crucial to avoid blood born pathogens!!! I couldn't find anybody in the area to match my high expectations of a permanent piece on my body. One of my friends referred me to Tommy at KTDragon. Before I headed over there, I went through his online portfolio to see all his previous work... ALL of them blew me away! People speak highly of him and his asian art. His portfolio made up my mind. I set deposit with him in AUGUST of 2009 and his first opening for me was in December! Whatever though, I don't mind waiting for something that will be permanently put on my back. I gave him the idea I wanted and when I showed up for my outline session, he showed me a sketch that was amazing. The result of 8 sessions, 27 hours later was way better and more than I expected! This review is long overdue because I got my tattoo done a while ago, but it still looks great, so it's definitely worth giving this place a 5 star rating. So a few years ago, I got a tat of a cross at Marks of Art and the guy who did it (forgot his name) rushed it and it didn't loo kso great. People would ask me if I got a T for Tammy =( I went to a laser center to get it removed and they ended up burning a part of my skin and it turned brown, double fail on my end. So I went to the tattoo convention hoping to find an artist with that will not only cover my old tat up but do it where no one can tell it's a cover up. Long behold, I saw an album full of great art work by Tommy. Luckily he lives close by too! I made an appointment and had a koi fish that covered my cross. After my sessions, I was pleased with my final result. Tommy has great attention to detail and I love love love the color, I got plenty of compliments and have been recommending him to all my friends who is thinking about getting one.
