I am in awe of my new ink!!! I came in as a walk in (after a few DMs on instagram back and forth!) Angelica was my artist and what an absolute joy she was to work with! i was getting an outline of my dogs ears and part of his head - she helped me design the tattoo (which was perfect) and she was so kind and talkative during my session. my mom came with me and Angelica was so accommodating for her as well and she was able to sit with me during the session! the studio was clean, and they were super efficient in their services. i will definitely be coming back!
First time here with my 3 girlfriends during their Mother's Day flash sale. Booked our appts earlier this morning. We each got a mini tattoo. Staff was so friendly. I had my daughter with me they made me feel so welcomed, interacted with my daughter and gave her a ball to play with. I brought in a design with asking for a minor adjustment and Angelica was amazing! Confirmed the design and placement.l. Made me feel like her friend.will definitely be back! Lila tattooed my friends and was so sweet as well.
I've been looking for a place to do my fine line tattoo ideas & one of my coworkers told me about this place. I checked out their work on IG & knew I found THE PLACE! I messaged them on IG & gave them details of exactly what I wanted & which artist. Booking an appointment was fairly easy & straightforward. A deposit is required but that's a given with many places. First little piece I had done was an outline of my dog who recently passed & I requested for Lila. She did a great job. Simple but she was able to really get his head shape. She was super nice too. Then I started to think of a the floral piece I've been wanting. Messaged them on IG again. We went back & forth with details. Since the piece I wanted was a little bigger, they recommended a few of their other artists. You can see each artist's work on their IG so I went through each of their highlights. It was a tough decision bc all their artists are so good but it came down to the style I wanted. I chose Nic & he exceeded my vision for this tattoo. He was so patient with me & really listened to what I wanted. I was worried the piece was going to look too busy bc of all the different flowers I wanted but he made it flow so well. He also made it to if I wanted to add more later (which I more than likely will) it's easy to do so. Was quoted 4 hrs but took almost 6 & I didn't mind. I didn't want to rush art. Pricing was fair for the work they provided. I always say cheap things aren't good & good things aren't cheap. A tattoo is going to be on me for the rest of my life. I wanted to make sure it was going to be executed well. The vibes in the studio is so welcoming too. While I was sitting in front, all I hear was laughing. Made me feel comfortable. So all in all - BOOK WITH THEM! YOU WON'T HAVE ANY RAGRETS. LOL.
I went back to get tattooed by Alyanah after 4 years. first of all, the tattoo I got in 2020 healed and looks amazing, so I knew Alyanah is the tattoo artist I will be coming back to and will reccomend to my friends. as for the experience I had this month, it went as smooth as last time. the booking was easy, I just emailed her and showed the designs and got the estimate. then I paid the deposit and (inpatiently) waited for the appointment day. once I walked in, the receptionist checked me in and was patient when I was deciding on the precise sizes. when it came to the appointment time itself, Alyanah was very kind when it came to me switching positions due to my legs going numb and needed to get up to stretch. I got 2 tattoos in under 3 hours and both look great! they both healed well and I can't wait to come back again.

My daughters went in for Taylor Swift flash tattoos after we saw her Eras Tour in Santa Clara. They were very accommodating because the flash dates were over and we were driving back home (3.5 hours away), the next day. They made the time, and my girls got the exact tattoos they wanted. Because they are fine line tattoos, there is a bit more fading than in traditional tattoos, but my daughters adore the reminder of the Eras Tour experience. Many thanks for making time for us!

Went with my sister to get matching behind the ear tattoos and Kay did amazing! it was my sisters first tattoo and she had such a good experience. This was my third, second at this shop, and I will be going back again. She was also nice enough to touch up one of my old tattoos at a discount because I was a returning customer. Thank you for the great tattoos Kay!
So happy I came here for my first tattoo! I came in as a walk in last Saturday and was really pleased with the process. The shop opens at 10, but I got there around 9:30. When they opened the doors around 9:45, I'd say there was about 7 of us in line. Once they have you checked in, they'll call you up to work on your font selection (it's helpful if you already have styles in mind!) or image drawing. I was happy to see they had the font I wanted already in their system! I ended up being tattooed by Jocelyn and I was really happy to be paired with her! She was easy to talk to and my tattoo was finished in about 20 minutes. I was really happy with the results and it is healing well so far. (For anyone getting their first tattoo and/or are nervous, they did let my husband come back with me for moral support which I appreciated - lol!)

I came in for their Friday the 13 promotion and had messaged the Instagram page to notify them of my design and the time I would come in. The person I talked to online mentioned they would add me on the waitlist for that day. However upon showing up I was not on the list. That was a bit upsetting, but I understand that they were probably busy with the influx of customers. My artist was Jocelyn. And she definitely turned that rocky start into a great experience. She was friendly and very patient with my friend and I. Would definitely come back to her. read more

My experience at Soul Imagez had its ups and downs. Initially, I was excited to book an appointment with a specific artist after researching their work, for a tattoo I had been planning for a month. However, just a few days before my appointment, I was informed that the artist wouldn't be available and that I'd have to see someone else. While the substitute artist did a decent job, I can't say I'm entirely satisfied with the outcome. Due to the last-minute change, I didn't have the chance to discuss the design in as much detail as I would have liked. As a result, there are elements of the tattoo that I wish could have been different. Effective communication and collaboration are vital in the tattooing process, and unfortunately, I felt that aspect was lacking in this situation. While I appreciate the substitute artist's effort. I do recognize that I did agree to it & now stuck with it, but felt rushed and pressured. I am disappointed with the overall experience. It is a nice facility and very clean. Though there should be a sign on the outside, because my GPS took me to the middle of the building and took a min to find it. The artists there seem to do a really good job, very impressive but disappointed in how everything went. read more
This is a family owned tattoo shop that is run by wife and husband and everyone that works here is related to one another which is awesome! I came here for a walk-in on the weekend and honestly, the service was fast. Walk-ins start at 10 am and end at 3 or until they are full. They have you check in first, tell them what you want and then they tell you how long the wait is and to stay close, perhaps grab coffee. I arrived at 10:10am and surprisingly the wait was going to be 45-1hour. but they have 6 tattoo artists working so it goes by fast. My wait ended up being only 50 minutes. You get a text to let you know that you're next and to let them know you're here. When you go inside, there is someone who will ask for your ID, what tattoo you want, give you an estimate, and then have you take a seat. My tattoo artist was Melanie and she was the best. I wanted a tattoo of my mom's handwriting on my arm and she made sure to make my mom's writing was readable and not too small. The tattoo process was fast and I loved how it was easy to talk to Melanie. Melanie is the best for fine line tattoos may I add. I would definitely come back again for another tattoo that is perhaps not a walk in. read more

I did one of their walk-in appointments yesterday (Saturday) and arrived at 10:15am to place my name for same day appointment. Tip: for walk-ins arrive as early as 9:30 if not probably earlier. They were already booked out for the day when I got there at 10:15am. I was given a 4 hour wait time which worked out for me since I had a lot of errands to do. I requested for Joshua which I was told might make my wait time longer which I was ok with. I got a text from them at 1:30pm I arrived at the shop at 2pm. I did call them because I was about 20 mins away which they were very accommodating with. When I arrived, we started working on my design. I chose one of their designs and went from there. They had to redraw the design I wanted because the flowers we're to small and they we're worried it wasn't going to look like the photo. With that being said, it took a good hour or so to redraw my design. So the process was this: you discuss your design idea at the front desk, they make sure that the design is doable and if everything works out, they print your design. They give you a quote, you sign their waiver then they set you up by placing your tattoo then you meet with your artist who will then work on your tattoo. Unfortunately, I couldn't have Joshua do my tattoo cause he was already booked our for the day which was a bummer for me but everything worked out. They had Jocelyn work on my tattoo and honestly I couldn't be any happier with the results. First of Jocelyn was very light handed, and I really love the little details of my tattoo. She was able to to nail the straight lines and my flowers. All in all I loved the final result. From 10:15am I finished at almost 5pm. If you do their walk in please keep in mind you may have to wait for quite some time. Plan out your day accordingly. Also, they are CASH only. Idk if they allow zelle or any other payments but everywhere on their Instagram and the shop it says CASH only. I will definitely be back and hopefully I can schedule an appt with Joshua for my retouch. read more

I had waited a while before writing this review of my experience getting a tattoo. So that my tattoo would be healed and I could see the final result. I'm very happy with the tattoo I got from Angelica T. She was professional, and outgoing. The Art Work provided looked just like the design I made, and she ensured it was transferred onto my arm perfectly. She has hands like an angel, my tattoo barely flaked and healed very well. So, I had to knock it down a star because my tattoo faded within 3 weeks! Some of the lettering was definitely not applied with the same pressure so there are gaps in my word. I have a touch up scheduled soon but so far, I'm a little sad about this outcome. We'll see how the touch up goes and it heals. read more

Soul Imagez and their staff are the best! i had gotten my first tattoo years ago in 2022 with Francis and had a great experience with him, so I decided to return and get another tattoo with my friends today by walking-in. there was no wait on a Saturday afternoon and their clerk at the front desk and Angelica warmly welcomed our party of 6. 4 of us got tattoos and they walked us each through the design process of all 4 different tattoos we were getting. they were super accommodating with re-drawing my design about 3 times to achieve exactly what i wanted. Alyanah was my tattoo artist and she was very bubbly and fun with my entire experience, making lots of jokes with my friends and me + also frequently checking in on me during the needling to see if i was comfortable or needed to stretch. if you're thinking of getting a tattoo -- Soul Imagez is the place to go to! very clean studio with lots of friendly, warm staff! read more

I came into Soul Imagez as a walk-in on the one year anniversary of losing my sweet Grandma. I wanted a marigold to symbolize her birth. The girl at the front desk (sadly I didn't catch her name) pulled up a pre-made design and we customized it slightly. Once confirmed, I was assigned to Kay as my artist. Kay is beyond talented and so easy to work with! I didn't love my first placement. But she very happily did a second placement, which she absolutely nailed. She made me feel comfortable to speak up and was very supportive. The entire appointment she was communicative, professional, and wanted me to be happy with every detail. Not to mention, our conversation flowed the whole time and it felt like I was hanging out with a friend. :) I went back 30 days later for a touch up, which was free. The tattoo healed beautifully, just a few fine lines lightened up. I made an appointment with Kay and I was in and out within less than 20 minutes. Overall, I love my tattoo and Kay was the perfect artist for the job. I plan to return to Kay for more work in the future and will give her creative freedom to help with the design next time. read more

My sister and I got matching tattoos in memory of our mom for Mother's Day and they both came out great. The entire process extremely easy and the staff was incredibly friendly. We walked in without an appointment, got our names taken down and came back after receiving a call that it was our turn to get our tattoos. We were in and out with our new tattoos in about 30 minutes total. Overall, a great experience. Will definitely come back for my next tattoo. read more
So happy with my tattoo :) Process was relatively smooth, I'd been so lazy to come in on a walk in day but when I emailed they told me that walk-in would be easier for my small tattoo, so I finally bit the bullet today~! - Walk-ins taken on Sat, Sun & Wednesdays (as of right now), on the phone I was told that people start lining up around 9:30 AM. I called on Saturday morning around 11AM and there was 16 people ahead. - Went in and put my name down and left to get food, they text/call you around 30min before they're ready for you - They called me ahead of time to email a picture of what I wanted so that they could draw up the design for it to be ready by the time I came back, it was then printed once I had an idea of what size, and then stenciled onto my arm to show me what it would look like - ended up getting the text around 4:30p and coming back around 5p right before they closed, so luckily I got mine done today - Richie did mine! He was super easy going & friendly so I felt comfortable while he was working on my arm - I was quoted $140, I also tipped Place is organized and clean, and all artists and staff know what they're doing, which I appreciate. Wish I came here for my older tattoos but oh well, moving forward i'll be coming here. read more

I want to be clear that the staff here is really nice, and their artists are talented. It's upsetting to give the store a negative review, but my experience was really unprofessional. I got a walk-in tattoo last spring. It was a simple piece: some gothic lettering on the front of my ankle. The front desk workers was nice, and they set me up with an artist right away. My experience getting tattooed was fine. The artist was friendly and I liked working with him. They told me to DM the shop to schedule future touch-ups for free. I did not get written or emailed aftercare instructions. That said, I started having problems after the session was finished. I found out that I was working with an apprentice later on. No one at the shop mentioned this to me, and I was charged full price. The latter depends on the shop, but the former makes me uneasy. The piece is an area with a lot of movement, and the healing process is impacted by this. I would've preferred to work with someone who was more aware of these risks. Moreover, senior artists rarely came to check on us during the session. One popped in for a couple minutes, but it was much less involved than other shops I've been to. Ideally, apprentices are actively supported by their coworkers. This is especially true for tattoos that are more detailed, or in places they haven't worked with often. I found this really irresponsible, especially since I didn't know I was working with an apprentice at the time. A couple months later, I realized my tattoo was patchy and uneven. I DMed them to explain this. They mentioned that I could not get a free touch-up anymore because I was about 10 days outside of the complimentary booking window. Like I said, I did not receive any instructions that said this. This information was only available to me on their site. My artist may have said something about the 90 day window as well as well, but it was my first time here and as I said, I did not have written instructions to verify this. As a result, it would have been pretty difficult to remember without anything to refer to. I wouldn't have minded paying for the touch-up if I had clear instructions about the 90 day window, but my biggest problem was that I was given an apprentice without knowing AND the tattoo healed badly. In short, I am deeply unsettled of the lack of communication and accountability from the shop. When I explained this, their customer service team ignored me (literally ignored my DM, photos below) and told me rebooking was now $80 because I missed the window by about 10 days. They did not apologize about the way the tattoo healed or reassure me they would take extra measures to make sure I was satisfied with my result after the initial healing process. I called someone on their customer service team after they brushed me off just in case they were having an off day. They were nice, but basically told me the same thing. In the end nothing was resolved. They just encouraged me to rebook without any concern about my botched tattoo. This experience made me really uncomfortable and I wouldn't feel good about coming back here. I've never had a tattoo heal this badly. As a result, I'm hoping to get the piece retouched somewhere else with more concern for their clients. (PS: I omitted the artist's name below because I do not think it's fair to put that pressure on them. The customer service / management team should be more responsible if anything.) It's a shame, especially since I really love fine line tattoos, and it's great to support a POC-owned businesses. read more

I got my beautiful tattoo done today by Francis. The scheduling process was easy. I got a link to schedule the appointment and they shared a fair estimate as well. The tattooing process was awesome! Francis was kind, he explained the process to me and the vibe was great. I fell asleep for some time and woke up with this beautiful piece. Definitely recommend and if you are looking for realistic/ fine lines check his art! read more
Well here we are 6 years later! Soul imagez has really built it empire and it always has a warm family-like vibes which you don't get in many tattoo shops! When I decided I wanted to get my grandpa's initials I knew I wanted to go to this tattoo shop so I went and tried to do a walk (in downtown) where they first were located! But they moved to a bigger place in Bascom San Jose. So I went on and started looking through Instagram and found Alyanah! Finally went to their new location requested for the 60 dollar promotion for small tattoos, they were super fast at getting back to me. Still super clean! (As it should) and still blasting some reggae. Then came back to get my grandpas line art style portrait done by Alyanah and then took my BFF to get her first tattoo on a busy Sunday walk in and got a small sun piece by Francis! Overall, it's a good quality work here and great vibes! My piece of advice! If you are looking to come in for a walk In make sure you come early bc they get filled up quickly!!! What type of bandage do your artists use? Do any of them use saniderm?
When I went a month ago or so they didn't use saniderm. The artist just used a wrap with tape
Do you guys recommend or allow numbing cream? and if yes, what would be the best option?
We allow numbing cream. For best results purchase Hush. It’s a great numbing cream and numbing foam. It’s best used with both in order to help your pain process.
Am I able to call to make an appointment?
I don't believe so, they respond pretty fast via email though! Just go on their site
Does this shop still do specials for Friday 13th? I saw a review about them but that was a few years ago and the other review seemed very conflicting.
I hope this isn't an annoying question but what is their rate for a script tattoo?
