Hanbok during Lunar New Year celebration~

I wanted to wear hanbok for Lunar New Year celebration at my work at the last minute. I'm so glad I called. The owner was so professional and efficient! You can tell that she runs the business with a purpose. She found me the most beautiful hanbok. Many people at work never saw hanbok in real person so it was worth every cent.

Gorgeous hanboks and the process was so easy! Called in advance to schedule an appointment. We already had our baby's hanbok and wanted 2 adult hanboks to match. When we arrived we were taken to a room FILLED with options and different colors. I love that the hanboks are customizable, so you can choose between different tops and bottoms depending on the style you're going for. The owner was really sweet, took our measurements and had our hanboks ready for pick up the day before our event! The entire process was very smooth, definitely recommend renting from here!

My mom and mother in law rented hanboks for our wedding in June, and they were absolutely stunning. All of our family and friends kept complimenting how beautiful the hanboks were. The owner is so friendly and helpful in choosing the perfect hanboks. We had a great experience and would highly recommend Kuak's Hanbok for any occasion!

This review is so over due, but still wanted to share my experience. My wedding was pushed 3x due to Covid and owner was very understanding and accommodating. My mom had already did measurements and After waiting 1.5 years later, my mom had lost some weight. It was now 3 days before my wedding & they were quick to make the adjustments accordingly. Stellar service and an array of vibrant and modern hanboks to choose from, Kuak's hanbok offers the latest and traditional styles for the fraction of the price to rent. I called a few places beforehand to search for hanbok rentals for me and my baby girl's dohl. I went with Meehee hanbok in the past, but their prices were astronomical at 2-3x the rate higher than the standard rentals. They became too high end for me. Luckily I encountered Kuak's hanbok, a local shop, that offered quality and modern style hanboks. Apparently the owner used to make and sell hanboks in Gangnam, so she makes top quality hanboks right in our neighborhood! Mrs. Kuak is such a pleasant and sweet lady. Highly recommend, we received so many compliments on the hanboks, thank you!!

I really wanted to wear a hanbok for my elopement photos to honor my family but didn't know if rentals were really a thing. Found Kuak's hanbok on Yelp and so glad I did! After calling around to various shops I decided to book an appointment to see what my options were. Pricing was just slightly less than the K-Town options but driving to OC is way less stressful for me so off I went. I haven't worn a hanbok since I was a toddler so I was a little nervous going into the appointment. The hanbok I rented was the highest of the price range ($150-$300 rental fee which includes cleaning) she gave over the phone and at the start of the appointment BUT it makes sense since it's a modern style hanbok. The more traditional style/colors are on the lower end of the price range. A deposit of half the rental fee was due to book the rental and the other half due at pickup. My family was shocked to see my elopement photos and that I chose to wear a hanbok for a portion of the photos. I'm so glad I found Kuak's Hanbok. Communication was a little difficult as my Korean is not great and I can't read or write in Korean. Our verbal communication was a lot easier but Google translate really came in handy for our text communication.

Kuaks hanbok was really easy to work with! I texted one of their staff during business hours and they texted me back their hanbok options. I was able to mix and match the top and skirt and love how it turned out!

My fiancé and I wanted to take engagement photos wearing traditional Korean hanboks so I looked to Yelp and found this place. I live in the OC area and wanted to find somewhere local so this location was perfect. The owner of the store custom made both of our tops (I forget exactly what they're called in Korean) since I had a particular color and style in mind. This is a great place to rent a Hanbok. My son had a lunar new year celebration at his school and the store employees were able to send me photos of the different styles they offered. The employees are professional and very kind and responsive. My son received many compliments and he was very happy to wear his Hanbok for the event. We would highly recommend!

We have my son's first birthday quickly approaching and decided last minute to rent a hanbok rather than buying it. We made an appointment and upon arriving was greeted by the owner. She had an amazing collection of hanboks for babies, kids and adults! We told her our theme and color scheme, and immediately started to suggest colors and styles that would go well. I have an event planner who I was sending the options to and she was super impressed by the owner's talent for picking out the right hanboks for the vibe. Last minute, we decided to rent hanboks for our entire family, and the owner was more than accommodating the last minute change and short time frame for the potential alterations that needed to be done. The owner hand selected mine, my husband's and our daughter's hanbok to compliment our son's without taking the spotlight from him. Upon discussion, we learned that she designed and made about 80% of her collection! She truly is a talent! The pricing was comparable to other hanbok rentals, which included accessories for the birthday boy, alterations (if needed), and steam/iron the garments. She was able to give us a bundle deal which beat buying hanboks for everyone! I couldn't recommend this place more to anyone wanting to rent hanboks. Highly recommend Kwak's Hanbok!! I rented hanbok for my wedding shoot and had such a great experience. The location is super convenient (especially if you are in OC), and the pricing is very reasonable. The owner is sooo kind and made the whole fitting process really comfortable and fun. They have various hanbok options including lots of trendy and modern styles, so there's plenty to choose from. I had no idea what would look good on me, but she helped me pick something that fit me perfectly. Both my fiance and I ended up loving our outfits, and our photos turned out amazing. I recently rented a hanbok from here for my daughter to wear at her school's World Cultures Day event last Wednesday, and it was a wonderful experience. Our connection with Kuak's Hanbok began years ago when we first rented a hanbok for my daughter to wear as a flower girl at a friend's wedding. She was so little back then, and seeing her now -- proudly holding the Korean flag "Taegeukgi" and representing Korea in front of others as a sixth grader -- filled me with immense pride and gratitude. I am thankful to Kuak's Hanbok for being a part of these meaningful moments. The owner was also incredibly kind and helpful, making the entire process smooth and pleasant. Had a pleasant experience renting a hanbok here for my baby's 100 day party. It was super simple and fast. I just chose one of the options that the owner offered and she had it ready to pickup at a specific time. They had such variety of cute options at a very reasonable price. This place is by APPOINTMENT ONLY so do not just show up here as it is not a retail store. I look forward to renting from here for our next event. read more

I highly recommend Kuak's hanbok! The service was great, caring, and efficient. There were so many different options to choose from, from traditional styles to more modern. We received countless of compliments on our daughter's hanbok during her first birthday! The hanbok was also very easy to put on (velcro ftw!) and manage, which is crucial when you're dealing with a squirmy one year old. :) We chose to rent a hanbok and I am so glad that option was available. 100% Korean, born in Cali.. I've tried it on before in LA for a family event and it was pretty cool to find out that there is another Hanbok store so close to me! Being able to channel my Korean side is awesome! Kuak's Hanbok is the place to shop. Yes, it is a little bit more pricey than LA but the quality is SO MUCH better plus it's local!! Can't get any better than that! The colors are vibrant and the texture of the materials is worth the money! I was too shy to take pictures so I don't have any to upload but now I wish I did :/ The owner is so so sweet! So friendly and helpful. Yes, she mostly speaks korean and very little English but what do you expect.. it's a traditional Korean Hanbok store straight from the motherland! :) If you're ever in the need of a Hanbok check this place out! You will not be disappointed. There's not a lot of shops like this around us so try and support these honest and authentic Hanbok shops instead of cheap knockoff stores! Keep the Korean tradition alive! read more

Rented the hanbok here for myself and my mother in law. Got so many compliments on it at my wedding. I did have to go with my mother in law and fiancée because her English isn't very good. Do make an appointment before coming. She will let you rent for 5 days. I was measured for the sleeves and with my heels to make sure it fit properly. It's more pricey (250 ) than ktown la rentals but more convenient. Also her styles are beautiful and much more modern in design. All in all very happy with the result. Cash preferred FYI read more

Our family rented four pieces of hanbok (for the bride and groom and the mothers on each side) from this place for a wedding and we couldn't be happier with our decision! We were looking for hanboks that were modern and chic rather than being too showy or too colorful. Mrs. Kuak's hanboks were exactly what we were looking for! Elegant, modern, and high-quality. The price was also reasonable and was actually on the cheaper side in comparison with other quotes I had received. They also have an adorable collection of hanboks for babies. I would highly recommend this place for any occasion that could be brightened with hanboks, such as weddings and first birthday celebrations for babies (doljanchi). read more

On june 1, i had my engagement photoshoot. I always wanted to wear hanbok and take pictures like how my mom and dad used to as our photoshoot concept. First, had to find hanbok that looks traditional but also modern so it doesn't look like an old couple taking engagement photo. I was so lucky to find kuak's hanbok because she had all different selection and so helpful. She is such a professional when it comes to hanbok and she knows exactly what i was looking for!! All I can say is wow! We flew down, one day trip from Seattle to Anaheim and back. The first and only time we have ever done so, however with a wedding that was coming up. I desperately wanted to wear a Hanbok for my cake cutting. It's the same picture my mom has at her wedding and I truly wanted that same look. What I got was beyond anything I could have imagined and then some. My mom also ordered one, even though she was not sure if she wanted one or not, but I'm SO GLAD she did! Wouldn't have looked as good if she didn't wear this. The shop lady was not only pleasant to work with, but dropped us off at this amazing Korean spot down there too. Still craving those soups too! We cannot thank her enough for making my dreams come true. She truly is talented and will get you what you are looking for. I Rented my dress, where as my mom purchased hers, and we both are extremely happy with the outcome.... Thank you! From the bottom of our hearts for making my day a real life dream come true! P. S. My dress won a Hanbok competition according to the owner of the shop, and it sure looks like it! Love it! Wish I could keep it, but idk where I would wear this to, haha. I wanted to wear hanbok for my small wedding celebration lunch with friends and family so I started looking only to find out it costs thousands of dollars to buy beautiful modern hanbok dresses. So I quickly looked to rent on yelp. I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. Since it was so close to my work and every other hanbok stores were far away in LA (which I am NOT down for the drive -__-) I went in not even a week before my celebration lunch but she was so accommodating and got it hemmed to my size and everything just in few days. My price range was around $150-$250 and she was very accommodating to that as well. She suggest handful of hanboks for me to try and asked for theme of my lunch, if I was a guest or the bride, anybody else who might be wearing hanbok to see if color match, etc etc. She is very detailed and accommodating. I told her I wanted pastel toned hanbok and she recommended me the perfect one! She recommended me to try other ones but I fell in love with her first suggestion so I was out of there in less than 30 minutes lol. It is cash only and you need to deposit some money when ordering. She's not too fluent in English so it would be helpful to bring a Korean speaking friend (if needed) She was just really sweet, friendly, accommodating. I would come back and 10/10 recommend :) read more

The owner is super nice and helpful, even with the language barrier-I'm a non-korean speaking korean she helped me find a Hanbok for both of my daughters' first birthdays-exactly one year apart! We had been to her previous location before and she remembered me and my slightly older daughter when we went in for my slightly younger daughter, haha! I needed the Hanbok for photos and then her birthday party, and she gave me a great deal on a slightly extended rental. Her selection is wonderful and she even had extra small sizes for my extra small almost one-year-old at the time. My oldest, who is 10, was swimming in her Hanbok nearly 10 years ago because I ordered it from Korea. Never again with this little gem nearby and now at a convenient location with plenty of parking! I'm so thankful that Kuak's Hanbok is in Orange County! Initially, we went in looking for just a skirt but ended up getting an entire hanbok set for myself and my husband. Beautiful children's hanbok!! I unexpectedly needed a hanbok when I realized my daughter had outgrown hers. We usually buy ours in Korea and I had no idea where to get a child's hanbok at the last minute. I was so lucky to find this shop! The owner was very nice and helpful and she actually had the right size in stock and available to rent! My daughter is 6-years old but she wears a children's 8-10 in clothing. Since older girls don't won't hanbok often I didn't expect to be able to find one. I was very luck that this shop had a nice quality hanbok in her size. And even luckier than the shop offers a rental service since I'm sure she will quickly outgrow her current size ;) The made-to-order hanbok were all beautiful as well. The detailing and fabric selection was as nice as the shops we've used in Korea. read more

I initially went in hoping to rent a dol hanbok for my son's first birthday party. After looking at their selections and prices, I ended up deciding to purchase one instead. The owner is very kind and helpful. She made the belt for my son's hanbok because I didn't like any of the ones she already had. It came out beautifully and promptly. My sister got married this past October and my mom was very anxious about getting a hanbok (traditional Korean garment). We went to a place in K-Town but all we saw were generic hanboks. My mom was reluctant to get a hanbok at the LA shop because she had a bad experience while getting a hanbok for my wedding two years ago. Luckily (so luckily), my mom somehow found out about this hanbok store. The owner is so accommodating and she made sure the hanbok fit my mom perfectly. She is a very skilled hanbok designer and maker, and you can see the quality in her work. She was the owner of a famous hanbok shop in Korea too. This new hanbok store in the Orange County area is amazing, because you no longer have to venture out to K-Town to rent (or buy) hanboks for your special occasions. Their selection is beautiful, with so many elegant and traditional options to choose from for both men and women. The quality, colors, and details of the hanbok were absolutely stunning in person and photographed beautifully during our wedding. What really stood out to us was the service. Everyone was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process. They took the time to help us find styles that suited us perfectly and made the experience feel special rather than stressful. On top of that, their pricing was very competitive and honestly a great value for the quality and service provided. I am extremely disappointed by your unprofessional and inconsiderate behavior. You failed to keep the agreed appointment, did not answer calls, and made no effort to inform me in advance. When you finally contacted me, your apology felt insincere and dismissive. Saying that you "forgot" and then asking me to wait an additional 15 minutes--after I had already arrived with elders--was highly disrespectful and embarrassing. What is more concerning is your attitude afterward. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience you caused, you questioned my reaction and implied that a brief apology should be sufficient. I bought my 3 wedding outfits from here and couldn't have been happier with my decision…read more When you first walk into this store it is all white walls with pink and grey touches like a Hollywood boutique style. This place looks nothing like the other competitors in the area like Frontier and others. Thank goodness because this place does not treat you like them either !! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and acknowledged. The other stores ignored me. I met with the owner Maneka and she was amazing. I had a vision of how I wanted my outfits to look for my 3 day Indian wedding event. She sat with me for about 2 hours and she took my vision and sketched my dream lenghas and dresses. She even helped me design my 8 bridesmaids sari's. She had so many brides that she was working with at the time when designing mine but she took the time and made sure each piece and every color was the one I wanted. My outfit was made in India and for those who know about outfits made in India, it can be scary. I have ordered outfits online from a website which I will not name and they never arrived on time and the measurements were way off. When my outfits arrived from India from Officially Couture by Maneka the waist was a little big but the girls at the store were able to fix that in a day. :) Needless to say for a bride I was freaking out but all was resolved. I give this store 5 stars. Everyone at my wedding commented on my amazing outfits. I am so thankful I walked into this store and have had the pleasure to work with Maneka, her mom and girls. There has to be a con in every review. My only con is the parking situation in Artesia The parking use to be free on the streets in this area and now the city of Artesia put up pay meters.
