Of all the yoga studios I've seen in 18 years of practicing, Kula has to be the prettiest! While visiting family for two weeks in Port Charlotte, I came to the 6am classes almost daily because I loved it so much - what a great start to the day! All the instructors have been wonderful (JJ, Stephanie, Moriah & Jenn), the studio is so clean and calming, and watching the sunrise through the gorgeous etched windows has been amazing! The healthy smoothies are a delicious treat after class, and I can't wait to try the coffee. I wish I could stay for the upcoming plant exchange! I love this place so much. Incredible teachers and great variety of classes for all levels. The environment is calm and positive, you feel it as soon as you walk in and they are so welcoming to new people. It's a family owned and run business and they are really authentic and genuine people. JJ and Jen offer amazing level 1 and advanced 6am classes if you're an early riser like me. Justin and Krista's classes are challenging, exciting and show you how capable and strong you are. Moriah's Saturday morning class makes you feel so empowered, I would plan my weekend around it because I left feeling so good. This place is a sanctuary from your busy life. If you're thinking of trying it, go for it 100%. Best decision I made when moving here. You won't regret how strong (my arms, abs and back are so toned now) and mobile it makes you feel. After an exhausting day (...week, month, year...), when I know how important it is for my physical and mental health to get some exercise, sometimes I have to remind myself that I never regret getting to the yoga studio. Tonight was one of those nights. And I nearly stayed home with my plate of spaghetti, glass of wine, and comfy socks. But boy howdy I'da regretted missing hot yoga at Hot Yoga Port Charlotte knowing now what I know after meeting the lovely and talented owner, Mark Santoro, and leaving rejuvenated. The class was approachable for a variety of skill levels. Although, it is a heated room (yum!). And the age range was wide. Clouds on the ceiling, a candle burning, Mark's articulate and rich voice, and cool cloths to sooth your skin at class's end all add to the root quality of Hot Yoga Port Charlotte that will have me coming back every time I am in town. Mats for rent @ $2, and bottles of water for $1. I've take yoga while on tour all over the U.S., and this place is super! If Hot Yoga is not for you, check out their website for other yoga options. I had the good fortune to find this studio while visiting forthe month of February. I tried many classes and was never disappointed. I began Hot Yoga to have time with my granddaughter. She dropped out and I stayed. Who would have expected a "fluffy" older women to continue much less to stay more than a year? In that time, I've been transformed from someone who needed the sign post outside the studio door to get up the curb to being able to walk without my cane, strenghtening my back so I truly walk upright not bent. Another plus -- my overall health improved tremendously. Why? Because of the open, welcoming environment created by the owner/instructor, Mark Santoro. He encourages and challenges the class to do their best. He has me modify poses so I can continue to enjoy full participation. I'm starting my second year at Hot Yoga Charlotte a lot less "fluffy" and looking forward to achieving more health gains through Hot Yoga. read more
