Do not use Hyvee's dry cleaners unless money is of no object to you, or all the other dry cleaners in Muscatine have burned down. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the service, but their prices verge on daylight robbery. I am accustomed to paying maybe $1 per tie when I get my ties dry cleaned. Granted, I don't do this often, but I don't think inflation has been running at 30% for the last few years! I recently took more than a dozen ties to be dry cleaned there and almost passed out when I saw the bill. contrary to expectations they charge a ridiculous $5 a tie for dry cleaning. Needless to say I will not be getting my dry cleaning done there anymore...

On August 28th, I had the unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the store firsthand while waiting in the summer heat for over an hour until help eventually arrived thanks to an outside party who stepped up for me. During this time, I interacted with one of the female clerks, who certainly left a lasting impression. While I had hoped for a little understanding and maybe the chance to call my family for assistance, I was instead treated to a display of sharp wit, snippy remarks, and a snarky tone that made it clear she had other priorities. It's not often that customer service manages to turn a simple request into such a memorable moment. In a way, I'm grateful--it's not every day you encounter staff who can show you exactly what not to expect from a neighborhood store. Her approach was so striking that it will stick with me for a long time. For anyone visiting, I'd recommend coming fully prepared, because you might not get the kind of support you're hoping for. So thank you, West Side Store, for teaching me patience, endurance in the heat, and for giving me an experience I won't soon forget. Sometimes the best lessons come disguised as customer service.

I went to use their restroom and one bathroom was out of order and so I used their other bathroom which was kind of dirty inside and looked like it needed a little tlc. I did, however, like the location and convenience of this small convenience store and gas station and that they had a good variety of both food and drink options available for sale.

On July 2, 2026, between the hour of 6:30 and 7:30 when the heat index was three digits, my…read moredaughter experienced car trouble on Hwy 61, just outside of Muscatine. 911 was called and the Sheriff's office and ambulance responded. Afterwards the sheriff deputies dropped her off at this Loves station because it was air conditioned and I believe they thought she would be safe. She was crying and anxious. However, even after she made a purchase and she explained her circumstances to staff they made her wait outside in the heat! I was coming from Washington County and arrived to find her sitting on the curb near the highway still in tears and sick from the heat. I want to thank those vehicles who were kind enough to check on her during this time. Those on duty at this time and refused to provide shelter should be ashamed! My daughter would never in her life treat another person in this manner. And Loves management team should be aware of this incident.
