Absolutely unprofessional and would not recommend. We had signed the lease and was given a move-in…read moredate, in the lease and verbally. When it came to the move-in date, we had saw that the carpet was still ripped up and was definitely not ready to be moved in to. This was incredibly frustrating as it had said in the lease this was in our move-in date and clearly we weren't able to move in, and we had everything packed up. They told us we couldn't move in for another week so I had to unpack my stuff that I had already packed just to pack it again in a week. This was the first breach of the lease. Though, they did give us a small discount on our first month of rent. Finally after moving in, I had a little lock on the front door they had put themselves. I asked it to be taken off -- mind you I live less than 5 minutes from the office this would've taken less than 10 minutes out of their day -- and it took a week to take the lock off. My rental had 1 million problems, and we started asking them for help. We asked for the toilet to be fixed before we moved in, and they "did" and after we moved in it was still not fixed. After this we realized they were not gonna help us with the problems we had in this house. There was plumbing problems, the sink leaked (and they obviously knew about this as it was taped up and very awfully tried be fixed), we had electrical problems, just a handful of problems they knew of but clearly avoided. Then, almost 4 months before our lease ended, we got asked to have a check up of the house. I assumed this was to make sure there was no problems before they would put our house up for rent (3-4 months before our lease ends is a little weird but whatever). The lady came and only took pictures of our house and did not check anything. I asked what was going on and she said they were about to put the house up for rent... 3 months before we moved out!!! I had pictures of all the stuff in our bedrooms taken which I feel like was a breach of privacy, especially because 1. They already had pictures of the house before we moved in and 2. They never used the pictures -- they had taken pictures of everything in the house for no reason. Not sure why. As a renter I felt very uncomfortable in my own home, especially because viewings were about to start and presumably last the next 3 months. I had to lock up all of my valuables and take them out of the house. But the good thing is with crappy management, nobody remembered that the inspection happened and that our house was supposed to go up for rent. The house went up for rent a month before we moved out. Not TOO bad. Overall, they were very difficult to work with and when we had problems, nobody would answer the phones. I hadn't called once or twice, I called all throughout the day for multiple days through different months. I never had one person answer ever once. Then, once our lease ended, I had the house professionally cleaned and the carpets professionally cleaned. I had spent $200+ on this to secure my full security deposit back. When we had the walk through on the day of move out, no one had said there was any problems. So I should have had my deposit back within a week because they had already had the inspection. Well in the lease it said our deposit was to be returned within 30 days. It was well over 30 days before we received it. They lied multiple times and AGAIN breached the lease. It was supposed to be received within 30 days, it was NOT. And I did not receive the full refund as there was a 'smell' in the house. Over $100 taken because of a SMELL, which I know is not true because I had the house professionally cleaned. Besides that, we had fixed so many things wrong with the house I feel we should've gotten the full deposit back PLUS more for doing their jobs. They did not offer any compensation for breaking the contract for a SECOND TIME -- yes breaking contract is illegal! -- and giving us our refund in over 30 days. I wrote this whole review in hopes no one else will go through what I had. They are completely unprofessional and broke contract multiple times. Do not go with this company!!!!!

I highly recommend Judy Dempcy Homes and specifically Rob Cole-Dempcy as a realtor. Earlier this…read moreyear, I became the executor of an estate which included a house in O'Fallon, IL that was then unoccupied and needed to be sold. I live in the Dayton, OH area, about a five to six hour drive away, so travelling to the house on a regular basis was not convenient. Rob and his entire staff went far beyond what was required to sell the house; to include recommending specific upgrades to modernize the house fixtures for sale (he even texted photos of specific model light fixtures that would help the resale value), coordinating schedules with various contractors to allow them access to the home, and just checking on the property on a nearly daily basis. The previous owner was a smoker, and Rob worked tirelessly to eradicate the stubborn smell of cigar smoke so that the house would be appealing to non-smokers. After several months of work, we had a house that looked, felt and smelled like new construction, and recently sold to become a home for a new family for a good price. When I was initially looking for a realtor, I interviewed several in the area that were recommended online and by reputation within the realtor community. After selecting Rob, another realtor that I had interviewed but did not select asked me why I did not select her. I explained to her all that Rob offered to do since I was not in the local area to help make this long-distance home sale easier for me. She openly admitted that she would not have done any of the extra things that Rob Cole offered to do - and then did - to make this sale happen more quickly and easily. I applaud her honesty, but more so I applaud Rob's professionalism and dedication. I would absolutely use him again and recommend that others do so as well.

I would never suggest anyone to use Judy Dempcy Homes. I would walk to a different company so you…read moredon't miss your chance on the home you want! I was using Rob Cole as my agent. We were working through some homes and when I found one I liked he said he would look into it for me. I had to call him back 3 days later to see if he had contacted the other agent so we could put an offer on the house. He said he had not and would do it that day. I called him next day and had to leave a message. I called him back the day after thinking he was busy and he said he had not contacted them yet. I called another agent after two days of waiting to hear from Rob Cole to get things moving and found out that the house was sold yesterday and I had missed my chance to buy my dream home. I would never use Rob Cole or any company he works for.

I rented an Apt from Hughes Group Real Estate in O'Fallon, IL…read more After reading several reviews online about their keeping of damage deposits for no reason given, I took pictures of the old, damaged doors , scratched shelves in the kitchen, holes in screens, etc. I kept a copy and gave them a copy. Before the end of lease, we cleaned vigorously and left the Apt in good condition. Again, I took pictures and showed them to the office as I turned in keys. After a month, I had not received any notice in the return of the $950 deposit. So I emailed. After several weeks they said it would not be returned, but they gave no reason. The A/C went out several times, and the back bedroom door would swell and get stuck on the frame. I noticed a crack but didn't know if it was our fault, so I offered to pay half. They added another $345 to the $950. The owner said nothing would be returned to us, but gave no reason. So, like several other Hughes Group Realty tenants who complained online like me, I did not receive due process in the deprivation of $950 plus $345 damage deposit. Since they are licensed by the State they should abide by Illinois State Law and Federal Law. "No State shall deprive a person of LIfe, Liberty, or Property without the due process of law. They have an attitude of just doing whatever they want to do. I am steering clear of this business and it makes me sad that in our area we have a company that is abusive of tenant rights. They never stated a reason for keeping my deposit and charging me additional monies so Beware of Hughes Group Realty in O'Fallon, IL.

Everyone else we encountered while living here were the rudest people I have ever spoken to in my entire life, and clearly hate their jobs.
