Called for quote on my very large driveway, nearly 200 yards long. I reached their voicemail and left a detailed message about my job leaving both my phone number and address of the property. Took four days for someone to return my call, only to tell me they can't work on driveways of properties that are on state roads???! Explained this to other contractors afterwards...they all said they never heard of that. If they didn't want the job then just say so...don't make up b/s excuses! i hired and son to fix large crack in my driveway and seal . i was told hot tire would be used to fix the crack because it was so large. i was given two hours notice to be there when they arrived. after they were done, the job was done so sloppy and so was cold. tar everywhere. they lied. the crack was not filled in with hot tire. it was only filled in with the cold from the bucket. the crack opened up an hour after they left. i called william and son and complained. the sun came out, banged on my door and called me outside. he said my father has been doing driveways for over 50 years. well, i said i knew william and he probably is rolling over in his grave. the sun start cussing me out with the f bomb fu my neighbors were all standing outside in their yards looking and wondering what the heck was going on. he cussed me out for 15 minutes and then left no repair of the crack slappy shotty job and me having to explain to my neighbors. well that was william and son cussing me out because i didn't like their shotty work and being lied to so if you be my shoes by all means hire these i called somebody else and they said it wasn't fixed right i called a third-party and they said it hot tard. i have to wait two years for the coding to wear off and one of those two guys will fix it right do not call these all the aggravation. i learned a valuable lesson on retire sons don't give a damn about their business and they you out. read more

Do not hire this company Kunsman and son paving, the foul language they used with my 82 year aunt is completely unprofessional. They pitched her driveway incorrectly and now she gets water in her basement every rain storm and they are not accepting accountability and fixing the issue. She called them to ask them to fix it and all they did was curse at her dropping the F bomb and telling her to shut the F up. read more

We called Kunsman Paving last year based on service we had received from them in prior years. However, because the season got away from us, we agreed to revisit the job this year (2020). While away on vacation, Kunsman came to our home and repaired cracks and seal coated our driveway. Within hours the poor workmanship showed itself as seen in attached pics taken by my son. I immediately forwarded the pics to Tom Kunsman and he reassured me that he would correct the job. I believed him but this proved to be an error in judgement. When his two very young workers, Angel and Austin, came by they were quick to agree that the repair work was poor. But then Angel tried to blame the terrible seal coating job on us stating that we must not have let the driveway cure. When I reminded him that we got home FOUR days AFTER the job was done, he conceded that the driveway should be redone but that he would need Tom to approve it. After reiterating my conversation to Tom (on the phone) I asked him to please come and see the work. I was confident that upon inspection, he would agree that the work was done poorly. But I was taken by surprise when he refused to come over and also reneged on his word to redo the crack repairs. Instead, what he said he would do is redo the work for an additional $100 bringing the total job cost to nearly $600. Needless to say, I declined that offer. Although we could choose to not pay Kunsman for the poor work, we decided to keep our word but we will never use their services again. I have never posted a negative review, but the way I was spoken to and treated by Tom Kunsman was more than unprofessional. It bordered on bullyish behavior. The attached pictures should speak for itself as to the workmanship but there is nothing to show the despicable verbal exchange with Tom. I recommend a paving company like Jet Black who stand behind their work. I greatly regret not hiring them again. read more

If I could rate Kunsman Paving less than one star I would do so. They were contracted to seal coat my driveway. I had to wait forever for them to schedule the job. They eventually called on a day while I was out of town and wanted to do the job that very same day. Tom Kunsman was not happy when I told him that I had a car in the driveway and could not be there to move the vehicle. When the crew finally got to my job, they spilled a significant amount of hot tar on the road in front of my property. It was the result of the two employees not paying attention to the equipment heating the tar. At that point I terminated the job and would not let them proceed. I contacted the office and left voice mail. Several days later Mr. Kunsman showed up. He was defensive and offered no apology, He demanded to be paid for the portion of the job that involved crack filling. I paid him that pro-rated amount and indicated that I wanted the mess in front of the house cleaned up. Now almost a month later, no clean-up of the spill has been accomplished. If this sounds like the kind of business that you want to deal with you certainly can feel free to call them. read more

I had Kunsman redo my driveway and an extension and curb cut to an alley aside if my home. I would not recommend the company. Firstly, hard to communicate with and equally difficult to schedule the work. They were quick to demand their deposit and very slow in scheduling the work. In fact I had little lead time to prepare for their short lead time. Also, the owner has an bit of an attitude that I found offensive. You question their work and the treat you like a dogs breakfast. Their price was hard to beat but as I learned again you get what you pay for. They did not do a neat job and I have to call them back to clean up. In my opinion they did not have the correct equipment to do the job. After 9 months I notice that the drive way is not holding up to use. The macadam is ripping up from standard automobile turning in the driveway. I am not qualified to evaluate the product used but it appears to be of a lesser quality than I have seen on other driveways. When I asked the owner he again blew me off and curtly told me that is the material that is used for driveways today. Also, they seemed to skimp on product and we're not receptive to little changes I wanted to make based on how the job was looking. If you use them good luck! read more
