The staff at KCC has always conducted themselves in such professional and compassionate manner that allows me to remain in patient communication of care with real time results. They really are true to their mission with a goal in mind to support educate family members in the care of their elderly loved ones. There have been occasions where I have seen them go above and beyond for families to provide the best on-island options for senior care. Terri Nakasone was our point of contact when my mom was transitioning out of hospice care where we wanted to place her into a private care home environment. Through every step of the way, Terri was a great resource in terms of our preferences and coordinating all of the different parts which went on behind the scenes. She came to the rescue again when we needed to make a change to a foster care home. As other reviewers have mentioned, they have very compassionate and caring professionals that go out of their way to help make the process of caregiver placement as painless as possible. Our family got the "On the Go" Fall Detection for mom, so she is still able to live alone & travel w/senior friends. Monitor is Nationwide so it will still work. Stacy and KC were very patient with explaining and didn't pressure us when we were there making a decision. Mom is encouraged to do a "test" every month which actually connects (the person on the line addresses her by her rname) she just tells them that she is testing & they document that. Mom places it on the charger daily & wears it thru everything, including baths. read more

I recently used Kupuna Care, who have been a total god-send in my search for a new caregiver to take in my dad. I had no idea where to find a qualified caregiver, and had tried several other routes that came to dead-ends. But Kupuna Care, including Flo and Samatha, came to my rescue! Their service was beyond spectacular, enabling us to move my dad in about one week from the start of the search with no difficulty to a wonderful caregiver and his home. They listened to and met my family's needs in every way. They went beyond the call of duty by matching my family's preferences with possible caregivers, making arrangements for visits to assess my dad, talking with the case management company, negotiating rates, and so on. Every caregiver that they sent was well qualified and thoroughly vetted. We had an abundance of choices and had difficulty deciding who to go with since they were all so good. I cannot recommend Kupuna Care more highly. They are kind, thoughtful, compassionate, thoroughly professional, follow up on all details and commitments, fast and responsive, very patient/customer centered, and advocated for my family with all parties. They fill a real gap in services. I was at a loss about what to do, and they quickly located an appropriate home in the right location at the right price. I am forever thankful to have found and received Kupuna Care's assistance. Flo was an absolute blessing. Her caring, attentive support was immeasurable as I grappled with the difficult decision to find a 24/7 facility for my husband. I am so grateful for her comforting professionalism and assistance in referring me to places considering our budget that met my husband's needs (including a vegetarian diet). Her knowledge of the facilities and staff at the various locations was extremely helpful, e.g., certain locations were not licensed for the kind of care my husband required despite what they may have said to me. I was not aware a company like Kupuna Care existed and feel so thankful that I stumbled upon them when it was on a list of companies as I searched online for home care assistance to allow me time to look for a care facility for my husband and provide me some caregiving relief. The home care business they referred me to called me that day (it was Sunday), set up an appointment to talk to me in-person the next day and two days later had caregivers report to my home (seven days a week, 8 hours a day).
