I visited Kurbside Eatz while visiting Lago Mar Lagoon. I found the menu to be more intriguing than that of the venue. I waited about 10 minutes to place my order. And was advised my tacos would be ready in about 20 minutes. I ordered one chicken and one steak with all the condiments. The tacos were indeed ready around the twenty minute mark. I really enjoyed both tacos, but preferred the steak more. The tortilla was very good, it tasted fresh and was flaky and buttery. I will be definitely be back to try the fries. read more

I will say I was crushed when I ordered my taco and there was no MORE KIMCHI LEFT...but that did not dissuade me from getting a taco still. I will say the gentlemen working the truck gave me a whole extra taco since they ran out of kimchi. And you know what? Holy mother of fusion. That was one of the BEST tacos I have EVER had in my life...I was actually full and gave the extra taco to a buddy. He then went and ordered one for himself. In an army of food trucks at the NFL Live experience, Kurbside Eats proved to be the slowest of them all. I waited in line for hour and another hour before our food food came out. I wish I was kidding. Sure you may say that it's a big event and there's just a huge crowd for food, but compared to the other trucks here who can get their orders in and out in 45 minutes, then you're doing something wrong. Food trucks galore were lined up outside the convention center today and we were famished! Many had some long a** lines and being a vegetarian it restricted me to who I could choose. Kurbside had some options that were fitting and that made my decision on who to choose (plus their line was a bit shorter). We opted for several options: chicken taco, shrimp taco, veggie on paratha and kurbside fries sans the meat. The veggie on paratha was really pretty flavorsome! I enjoyed the components inside; the crisp carrots, crystal noodles and squash. The bread was grilled nicely, but was a bit too oily. My man was unimpressed with both the shrimp and chicken tacos. The fries were interesting. They were basic fries with lots of sauce smothered all over them and kimci. I really wished they would have put more of the kimci on there since I opted out of the meat. My man thought they were gross, but I thought they were OK. Would I seek them out again? I'm not sure about that. They were just OK to me. But you could bet I'd grab another veggie on paratha if I was hungry and they were in my line of sight! read more

This is one of my favorite food trucks in all of Houston, and it's a staple at the University of Houston campus - if you are anywhere near here, I encourage y'all to check this food truck out. Beware though that there is usually a long line and the aromatic smells wafting from the kitchen does not make the wait easier. I always order their BEEF TACO mainly due to the rich taste of that Asian marinated ribeye. The smallness of the taco is deceptive as the thickness of the tortilla satisfies you quick - the tortilla is pretty much the thick, tasty onion pancake that you see in Asian cuisine, minus the actual onion pancake. In addition, the creamy cilantro sauce and spicy mayo are sparse and complement the deep umami flavor of the beef taco. Try this place if you get the chance! read more

I was so excited to see this new food truck on UH campus and I really wanted to like these guys! Maybe it was a one time thing? This review is only for the 3 Cheese Curry Beef Burger. Presentation (A): Everything looked appealing and fresh. Service (B): After ordering, it took around 15 minutes for the food to be ready. There was a line of people so for fresh food, it wasn't too bad. They even have a fancy shmancy tv that you can watch while you wait for your order and there's also music playing. Food and Execution (C): The initial bite into the burger was yum and that curry flavor was definitely on point but after that it went downhill. The bread was burnt on the inside and so was the crispiness layer of ?? bacon?. Each bite was burnt flavor overpowering the curry flavor. Thankfully the meat and $1 extra egg wasn't. The meat however was lacking that juiciness flavor. If you like the lean, no natural oozing oil in the meat then I guess you might like this burger. I suspect this was all due to smushing the meat to cook faster. Another plus was that I wasn't charged $1 extra for using a credit card. I don't know if this is due to the venue being at UH? But I'm glad, because I like tiping if there's no credit card charge! Anyways, pretty disappointed :( but I'm still determined to try something else on their menu and not kurb these guys off the street! read more

This place needs more reviews! I've been here a few times with my friend Anh. My first trip I tried the Kurbside fries, although similar in look to OMG their fries are very different. The fries themselves have a more natural taste, and the girl was kind enough to load up the white sauce which made them aggressively addicting to eat, even after hitting up 3 trucks before that I couldn't help but stuff my face Since then I've had a few more visits, and my favorite menu item as become the Curry Burger with, yes, a fried egg on top! The burger packs a punch of mouth watering spices, and a delightful crunch from what I believe is fried curry? The Tacos are filling with plenty of flavor. I've only had the chicken, so I don't know how the beef taste, but they load up the meats on these bad boys which makes them flavorful, and along with the seasoning one of my favorite taco's in Houston. It's hard to pin point what type of food this truck has they really have everything, and it's all really good. I don't know if I would call them Asian Fusion, but then I'm the type of person who eats PF Changs, so I guess I loose my "What is Asian Food Pass The Staff is very friendly, and the girl was cracking me up while she loaded up my fries with that savery white sauce. My first time eating Kurbside was last fall. We drove all the way to the heights for dinner before bar hopping. I believe they were located near 8 (club/lounge) It was my first fried bao belly bun experience. It was yummy & hella greasy. The fries were also good. The taco was good, but very heavy with the paratha. Definitely a good place for a meal after partying all night. Last month, I was at a bridal extravaganza hosted at reliant park...which also had auditions for 'the voice' oh mylanta it was so pack at reliant because bridal, home & garden show, Sesame Street live. Kurbside was one of the food truck vendors there. They sure jacked up their prices $1-2 more. $4 for a bottle of water?!? They were sold out of a lot of things, not much option to order. At the last food truck festival at the HCC campus, I got a chance to track down Kurbsideeatz. I've always found their truck name catchy. I got a chance to try their Crispy pork belly taco. It was flavorful, but wayyy too expensive. It's just crazy some of the prices these days. Came here Friday during lunch break. Friend suggested these items to get: Kurbside Fries: Great fries! Loads and loads of meat, they definitely dont shiest you on meat. There was also enough kimchi that helps add to the flavor! Much better than the ones I had a Kobecue. Pork Belly Buns: This was the highlight of the meal. The pork belly was so tender it melted in my mouth. Nice and juicy (i wanted to get another but I didnt want to be Fatty Mc Fatterson) just absolutely filled with flavor. The bun itself was delicious I tasted a slight crisp to it. I think I devoured this in 2 bites. Shrimp Tacos: I am not a huge shrimp fan but it tasted great. It had the right touch of sauce spread in the taco. Also the taco torilla (?) was different, good different. Again I destroyed this as well. I dont mind paying for good food. If you want to eat cheap then go to the 99 cent store and buy a bag of chip. But as for me I will definitely come again. read more

This truck was parked outside my apartment one evening so I took the opportunity to skip making dinner and try this interesting cuisine. I spent $8 on a chicken quesadilla with asian seasoning (cilantro, spicy mayonnaise, and other spices I couldn't identify). It was good. I would probably try something else on their menu next time, but I was intimidated by the fusion of Asian and American cuisine - I didn't think I could go wrong with a quesadilla. The University of Houston-Downtown has invited some food trucks to campus, so I tried this one. There was a small line of students, but they serve quickly, so the wait was short. I got one chicken and one beef taco...both were excellent. I don't think this is the most healthy meal, but I look forward to having their food once and a while. My Thursday night class had a few students that brought food. A couple others thought the food looked amazing, so one of my best students walked over with about four orders...she came back and everyone that had food from this truck was happy. I had their Kurbside fries for dinner one night. SO GOOD! Get them with the beef...it's tender and flavorful. I did think they skimped quite a bit on the kimchi. But nonetheless, you can't go wrong with fries, cheese, creamy cilantro sauce, beef and kimchi. Overall this was a pretty good experience. The flavor as a whole was pleasant, but I thought the kimchi could use more kick. Very cool that their tacos are on paratha bread (it actually seems like fusion between paratha and a tortilla). Had the fish which was wonderfully fried and braised pork belly.. Both with a nice crisp outside, which contrasted nicely to the flaky inside of the fish and the tender juiciness of the pork belly. Finally the price is concern to me. 11 bucks for 2 tacos? Seemed a bit steep. The tacos were decent sized and the ingredients tasted very fresh, but this still seems a bit high. The sign also says they charge a buck for credit card-- a major turn off for me--but I'm not sure if it's an out of date sign or they were just being kind (or forgetful) because they didn't charge me it. With my one year Kurbside anniversary coming closer, and the recognition that this place has quickly developed a "Kult" following, I felt the need to update this post. Considering that I have started a campaign to create a "Frequent Taco-er Program," I think it's safe to say that my friends and I are still addicted to Kurbside. Speaking of which, we have started a "12 Step Program" to rid ourselves of the shutters and cold sweats we find ourselves suffering when we go on a 2 or 3 day "Zero-Kurbside; Zero-Fun" cold turkey quit-off... as they say. It's not pretty, but I'm working on being able to control my Kurbside urges. Not a likely outcome, as I can feel myself salivating right now, just dreaming about a steak taco on paratha.. Every time friends or family comes to visit me in Houston, and we head out for some nightlife in the loop, we always make sure to cap the night off by going to Kurbside. HELPFUL TIP: Get here at 1:30 A.M., because the 2:00 crowd is very hungry, and there are a lot of them. read more

Kurbside Eatz is one of the many delicious food trucks offering Asian/Mexican fusion. I've checked them out several times and this time they were taking part in a food truck festival at Sun's Club. Part of what makes them unique is that they offer tacos on Parantha (Indian bread) rather than the usual tortilla. This time around, I had their Kurbside fries which are thinly cut fries topped with goodness. The goodness is what makes the dish and includes your choice of ribeye or chicken, kimchi, fresh cilantro, colby jack cheese, spicy mayo, and creamy cilantro sauce. Tacos are awesome! I loved the Korean beef taco on paratha - that is brilliant. Seriously brilliant. I will be getting paratha to try at home now. Spices were great, fresh flavor, great fusion. Also had the pork belly bun and while it was rockin' for the first 2-3 bites, I got tired of the fattiness afterwards and felt gross. It needs something in it or on the side to cut the grease, or maybe I just need to share and stop being a fatty! Wish they came by UH a bit more.
