This place is awful.I was not even examed by the intern and doctor.They wanted to say no pain meds after I been on them for 20 years. I moved to a new area and went to Kure aka was only Smart pain to a new take over The doctor was SMUG TELLING ME IM HIGH RISK PUTTING ME DOWN.I told him the truth and the intern ,plus it's in my paper work Awful upsetting embarrassment .I wrote to management we ith no response a This doctor recommends phyc due to I was upset that he upset me by degrading me.I do not need a phyc , I needed to be examed.He told me I had nothing to wrong with me.I have numerous things wrong and he knew it The allowment of 5 min per patient and hears cattle back .Terrible process to be told I'm not inpain...Not eliagable for any pain meds. read more

I've been in Pain Management for roughly 12 years. During this time, I have seen the landscape change immensely because of addiction, abuse, etc. and the introduction of local and federal laws that severely impact people like me who follow the rules and do whatever is necessary to help maintain a somewhat "normal" life. Kure is a big chain that swooped in a took over many of the small practices in the area. With that said, I stayed on because the Physician's Assistant who has been with me for these 12 years stayed and she knows me best. Since this takeover, I have experienced much frustration. Let's just start with the fact that I have never met any of the doctors other then when I go in for a procedure. The first time I had a procedure scheduled, I was subjected to sales pitches for spinal cord stimulators before and after my procedure. I have since refused to schedule with that particular doctor. On many occasions, my prescriptions were messed up or denied and needed action from the staff. If you call the main number, you be immersed in to an endless maze of menus and people who will say they'll help you, but do nothing. I've had to physically walk in the office to get my issues resolved on numerous occasions! I've experienced last minute cancellations for procedures where I was off of certain meds for two weeks to prep. In addition, I've shown up at the locations I was supposed to have the procedure only to find out it was moved to another location without my consent. If it wasn't for my Physician's Assistant and the fact that she's AMAZING, I'd be gone. This company is all about the profit and pushing bodies through, not about the individual care. read more

Today I saw Doctor Foo. This was the best experience I have ever had talking with a doctor about my Migraines and I have been to many over the years. This is no disrespect to my Primary Care Physician, but because of the MD state laws, PC's can no longer prescribe long term pain medication, specifically opiates, so she recommended me to a Pain Management Center, Kure Pain Management in Annapolis. We discussed some diets that have been known to cause migraines and other alternatives as possible solutions other than the typical SSRI's and other daily preventive Migraine medications, which I have already tried with horrible side effects. The staff was amazing and welcoming. I am going to try Botox and cutting out gluten and go from there. If you suffer from migraines, you know any hope is a pleasant thought. I am so thankful for the courtesy and treatment from Kure Pain Management in Annapolis. read more

Let me preface this by stating that if there were a category for "Quackery", this is where this "Business" belongs. I understand that they are basically herding a group of pill poppers like a farm full of cattle, but I found both of my visits with two providers to be the most condescending, accusatory, unethical and unprofessional scenario one could experience. I work with doctors on a daily basis, including PM docs, and explained my experience to one of them who advised me to report them (Once I find out who that may be). 1 week after having my third reconstructive foot surgery (in the last 12 months), I scheduled an appointment with Kure and ended up being scheduled with Dr. Doris Cope. She was pretty wide open in her schedule and now I know why. When you walk in, there is a big sign boasting Dr. Cope as "Doctor of the Year". While most would likely think of this as a comforting feeling, like she must really know what she is doing..... this is a tactic. What other professional doctor office makes their own life-sized banner to promote their providers? You shouldn't have to advertise your services when the medical profession is primarily referral based or you go there because your insurance requires it. My co-worker used to work there and I asked what she knew about the doctor and she said, "All I know is she is mean to the employees, thus the turnover." Great! Once we meet, I explain to her the predicament. My last PM doc was supposed to manage my meds post-op. Here I am, a week post -op from surgery that has been planned for 7 months and that doctor was now randomly on vacation- that's why I am here. I present to her my foot- swollen four times the norm, stapled, weepy, bloody, black, blue and purple (like the perfect Raven's fan) plus a side of a multi-color shin (bone graft) for her examination.. She puts some device on the area (without regard of my senstitivity) and tells me it's registering as "hot". Well, No Sh*t ! Next, I am given a short sales pitch about how I am to come in next week to be put under general anesthesia in the office, where she will stick a needle in my back to block my nerves running to that area in the event that I may or may not get a (after research, I now know) very rare, debilitating Acronym-based, incurable condition. Then I am given half of the prescription that I have been given for the last 8 months (it ain't broke-why fix it?) and a slow acting Fentanyl patch. I soon ponder jumping on the train of trust of the #1 doctor banner - she must know what she is doing..... "Doctor of the Year!!!" (Now realizing she may have been voted this by a small village in Africa where I picture she went around providing charitable anesthesia). So, fast forward 2 weeks later..I tried the Fentanyl Patch despite reading horrific death stories of people woefully trying to get off heroin- that they have now resorted to after the patch stopped getting prescribed to them. Maybe I am a big baby, but festering blisters and the inability to breathe prompted me to remove it. I called the #1 doctor and left a message with the above information. No call back. I call back and left another message. No call back. I callmy surgeon who called something in to curb my hyperventilation and pain ridden sobs. My follow up appointment was today. I am now scheduled with thei #1 Nurse Practitioner. I wasn't even going to go but decided otherwise for the fact that I wanted to hear what this Zit on the face of the Earth's ass had to say to me. Instead, I saw the NP, (Zit offspring - again turnover) Deliana Flores. She comes in very "in-charge", asking who I saw on a certain date as my records display that I was prescribed a different medication from another doctor. She believes she has most certainly "caught" me doctor hopping. I am in the business and I know you have your claims history, Ms. Freshman. Not to mention, I wrote it down on the paperwork when I showed up this morning. I explained my story about the festering wounds and inability to breathe from their prescription never getting a call back. Here is my "ONLY" warning of a violation of an agreement I never signed. I advised I never heard back from Dr. Cope (ironic name) and this is my fault that she only works 2 weeks in a month. I advised I would rather not get anything from her, I don't want this "violation" on my medical records amd I would continue tot take Tylenol and suck it up as I haven't died yet and it's been 3 weeks. I have seen a lot of shady, unethical providers who lack knowledge when it comes to "standard of care" but this takes the cake. See my review of OSMC, who put me in this god awful predicament. I have been going to Kure Pain Management for the past few months for a spinal and shoulder injury I obtained at an old job. They have been very kind and accommodating to me. My doctor Dr. Foo is kind, and explains every part of what he is doing and how the procedure went and what we will do next. He is attentive to my needs and prescribes proper medication to ensure that I can get through my workday. I highly recommend going here if you need help managing your pain. I also have tattoos and piercings and they didn't judge me for that, which goes a long way. I did enjoy my visits here, until my doctor had trouble with a spinal injection and I had to be prescribed medication to alleviate my headaches and dizziness. They also decided that I was on pain meds for too long and then they put me on medication that made me ill physically and emotionally. I'm glad I have a trusted physician to care for my pain management needs. read more

Amazing drs. I have stenosis and the injections I got made me pain free for a heard. Incredibly professional, hospital-like setting with recovery. The doctors gave me 15 injection in my lumbar spine while looking at my mri. I moved to Boston and wish there was a pain clinic like Kure here. read more

My primary doctor suggested I go to Kure, because he knew Dr. Davies and he had a great reputation. He wanted another opinion on my lower back and pain in the hips and legs. I had back surgery years prior with no relief, just added hip and leg pain. I was told that Dr. Davies was on vacation for the month of August but could see Dr. Cope. I had done physical therapy, chiropractor, several injections and nerve blocks and other pain management doctors and was just looking to see if possibly another surgery or something would give me a more permanent relief. I finally was taken back to a room. Dr. Cope came in and spent a whole whopping 10 minutes with me and told me that I needed to go to rehab. I was floored. She was such a fantastic doctor that looking at me and talking to me for 10 minutes and I was a druggy. Wow! I everything else must be in my head! She gave me a sheet with their information. I went to check out and the receptionist said didn't need to come back. I was in total shock, I had been to a dozen doctors who spent hours with me and they couldn't figure it out. Well I went off the few medications to see if I was addicted and nothing happened except I was in pain but had not problem going off them. I then got the bill in, $360 for a 45 minute consult. How could that be she only spent 10 with me. Oh, that must have been for the time I waited in the waiting room for her. Then of course a $30 drug screen that must of told her I was an addict. The best part is when I saw my insurance claim that showed a $1,600 lab bill for a full drug screening that showed I was not an addict. Don't you think you should wait until a full drug screening comes back before you make devastating diagnosis? Last but not least, I have called five times in the past two weeks trying to get someone to speak with me on this. Always a promise someone will get back to you by the end of the day. I will not mention the names of the young ladies. I finally called today, No, nothing resolved. You think they would have at least called with my results from the lab, I didn't even know they had done. If it wasn't for checking on my insurance claims I may never have known. Not at all happy with KURE pain management. The doctor who met with me on the intial eval had NO bedside manner whatsoever. In fact, she had no empathy with my apprehension to do any sort of injection therapy. She became flustered with all the questions I had and only wanted to get me in and get me out. I decided after my appointment today to post a review on Yelp because I have been so consistently happy with my treatment at Kure, only to find the one horrible review here. Wow, my experience couldn't be any different. I have been going to Kure for about a year now. I have seen Dr. Frieze, Earl Gray, and Heather Day as well as a few others whose names I can't remember. All of them have been extraordinarily kind, compassionate and helpful. I don't know the staff that the other reviewer (Stephanie F) mentioned-- I can only say that I really love this place and my pain problem is orders of magnitude better. This is an area of medicine that is scrutinized by the government because of lots of abuse both by patients and doctors. Anyone in this line of work has to be very careful about how they conduct business. In fact my GP was not willing to deal with a chronic pain condition and sent me to Kure. Despite the severe regulations on their work, the staff here have always been most professional and accommodating and very understanding of my particular needs. I just couldn't ask for a better experience. I am extremely grateful. I am sorry that Stephanie F had such a terrible time here but I can highly recommend them based on my visits. I needed to see a physiatrist for a minor condition but was in some pain. The hold times on the phone were long and it took several days to get a required consult appointment. After needing to schedule the actual treatment appointment, my doctor could not see me for another week. If you have a consult with one doctor and he/she is not available for several days, another doctor who is available cannot treat you. This is a pain management practice and I had to wait two weeks to actually get treated. The front office was cheerful but still ended up scheduling my long awaited appointment for the wrong week. I will now have to start the whole process again with a new practice. Frustrating and disappointing. read more

These people have ruined my life. Dr. Cope put me on methadone, despite my objections, promising me that it was the best medication for my situation. Then, because I received meds from ER, they discharged me from their practice. Now I am black-balled from every pain management clinic in the Maryland-DC-Virginia area. I am seriously considering suing them for malpractice. Stay away from these people at all costs! Cold, callous, people. Their front desk disclosed confidential information that anybody could hear. This has been a nightmare experience. I was referred to them for neck pain and had an initial eval, after which the doctor proposed a procedure. It was scheduled, but when I showed up I'd been told it had been canceled (my insurance declined it?) and I had been notified. I wasn't notified. Come to find out, they had given me paperwork to fill out with another patient's ID number on it. HER insurance declined it and they notified HER. (The Kure employee said, "Your insurance wouldn't have declined this. Your insurance wouldn't even want preauthorization!") And the day we discovered this, they said they could fit me in and do the procedure! I waited 2.5 hours, only to be told they COULDN'T do it because I'd taken ibuprofen within the last two days. I was so frustrated, I tore up the paperwork and handed it to one employee, then talked with the initial employee and told her what happened. I said point blank I wanted it removed from my records and I never would be back there. Then they BILLED MY INSURANCE for this procedure which never happened and have sent me bills for co-pay. I reported it as fraud to CareFirst, yet Kure maintains the procedure happened. Now I'm working with that one person in that office who really knows what happens to get this fixed. I want it off my records, and I want my insurance company reimbursed. AND I'd like to be able to go to another pain management place to, hopefully, get some help. My primary referred me, but they want the records from Kure, which are STILL incorrect. It also might be time to report Kure for a HIPPA violation (I still have the paperwork with the other woman's name/ID on it.) Save yourself a lot of hassle and go someplace else! read more

After I was told by my regular pain management office that they could not see me for a month I found and called Kure. They said they could see me that week and to make a appointment with the 800 number. I faxed my docs over to the office but the 800 switch board was slow getting me on the schedule. That pushed my visit till first thing the fallowing week. Once I got through to the Annapolis office everything was a breeze after that. I was seen by the PA who was very knowledgeable with spinal injections and knew what was needed. I don't need bed side manor so much as I need efficiency and positive results. I was able to get in for a injection in two days. Unheard of in the pain management world. Two weeks at least is the norm. The front end was very nice, fast and efficient even getting a insurance approval before I left the office. My injection was lumbar right side although I did have symptoms on both sides. That shot did improve things on the right side not on the left. I have a follow up in a week and will ask if we can shoot the left side. We shall see. So far so good with Kure. read more

My husband goes there and they without a doubt have the rudest office staff and the billing people should be taken for training in how to talk to people. I wouldn't go there for anything. Horrible experience. I had to travel an hour to be seen and twice I was denied once I got to the office. The first time the workers comp insurance did not give me authorization and Kure pain forgot to call me and tell me. The second time I called first and was told everything was OK, but when I got there I was told I had a missed appointment fee due and could not be seen until bill was paid. So I spent 4 hours of my time traveling and was never seen. If you can get in to see the doctor, they seem to be ok, but the secretaries definitely need to learn how to do their jobs correctly. read more

I have to agree with Stephanie F. I was seen by Dr. Foo and everything he said made sense. I have a medical background so I was able to follow along. He had sent me for a follow-up CT and in the mean time sent me for Physical Therapy. I must say Chris and Jordan at Kure PT are awesome! They truly made me believe in PT. Too bad they are associated with KURE. So I went back to Dr. Foo two weeks later with my CT in had. We discovered my back condition had gotten a bit worse in 14 months. We had discussed needle therapy (nerve blocks) a few weeks ago. I have a very complex medical history and am on steroids. Once we had concreted proof that the nerve therapy would be an option we decided to go ahead. Dr. Foo assured me that he was going to now find out how much steroid he could safely use for this procedure and told me not to worry he had everything under control. So my procedure was set up for about 2 weeks out. I showed up we did the procedure no hiccups. Until I was getting off table and he says to me your pain relief is going to be short lived. I said I understand (now in my head short lived is a month or two) he goes on to say about 8 -12 hours. I was in shock!! I could not speak. I made my follow-up appointment to see the NP Heather. Let's say Heather is not someone I would choose for health care. My BP is normally 93/67 on the day I saw her it was 160/102 and she was not concerned? She asked me how I felt after my procedure I said I had absolute pain relief for that day but unfortunately I was in severe pain by Noon the next day. I was told yeah that was a practice run to be sure he had the right spot? A PRACTICE RUN??? We never discussed a practice run. She says GREAT let's get you scheduled the soon the better!! With that she hands me a piece of paper and points me to check out. The check out person was playing with her chair when she was finished she made my appointment for July 2 at 1:10 p.m. four weeks away but I just wanted out so I took it. I showed up on the second and was greeted with "are you here for a procedure?" I said yes. The girl says I need my office manager. The office manager says what is your name? I tell her and she says you are not scheduled for a procedure. I said oh yeah your office called yesterday to tell me that I would need to pay my balance before I could have my procedure tomorrow can you explain this to me? She says I understand. I said no you do not. She says you are scheduled to see Heather today. I said well that is not happening and I will not be back. She says I understand. No one has every apologized for their screw up an no one has asked me about my pain. So please do not tell me how caring and great these people are!! I would not recommend these people to an enemy but if you want to be a test dummy and remain in pain I say go for it. read more

I was in nerve pain from a C5-6 bone spur. I also started to notice that I was losing function in my hand. Began to drop items, had difficulty using a pencil, etc. PT and acupuncture did not work and I was in moderate pain and discomfort. MRI results showed bone spurs. Kure recommended I get a shot in my neck (epidural). The woman at the Annapolis office check-out gave me the "pre-shot" information and said, "You can actually have a small snack. You can eat something light". When I got to my procedure appointment (Glen Burnie office) the nurse asked when I had last eaten. I told her I had strawberries that morning. She said, "You were suppose to fast for 8 hours". I told her what the Annapolis employee told me. She informed me that I given the wrong information. Absolutely no food for 8 hours. So, I had to wait for over an hour while the staff decided if I could get the shot. It was nerve racking and uncalled for. More time wasted- husband had taken off of work to drive me, very stressful. Then, I went for my second shot. I had scheduled this shot for the Annapolis office. When I arrived, they informed me that my appointment was in the Glen Burnie office. I, WITHOUT QUESTION, scheduled my procedure for Annapolis office (which is where I live). They offered I wait a few hours and maybe the doctor who was working could "squeeze me in". Naturally, I wanted to see the SAME doctor who had initially treated me, read my MRI and gave me the first shot. I am not getting these procedures done randomly as I may be a candidate for surgery, etc. I was hoping for a doctor who I could have a patient relationship with.....not just alleviate pain for a month. He was not available for another 2 weeks! It's like a factory. No one follows through with you. It was their error. They admitted to the error but still could not make a concession to schedule the appointment with the "my doctor" for another two weeks. I walked out with no procedure, pain, starving, hadn't taken advil for three days (you cannot take it for 3 days leading to the shot). My friend, who made arrangements to drive and pick me up that day, had taken off from work. All for nothing. I am currently researching practices that can assess, treat and provide a future medical plan for my C5-6 injury/spur/pain. This practice seems to just be about in/out shots, medication. I didn't feel anyone had a vested interested in my problem. Poorly run offices. Huge waste of time. read more

Terrible, I saw doctor S. H. and it was a terrible experience, she didn't know what to tell me and gave me the wrong diagnosis.

Horrible Customer Service at the Olney Location. Today, I visited the office for a procedure that was scheduled for 8:00 am. The doctors were very pleasant; however the RN and the Receptionist could use a course in customer service. First we walked in the office with Jamaican music pulsating in the background. Next, the receptionist never made eye contact with me and just continued to type on the computer for 20 minutes without making any eye-contact with the patients awaiting procedures. The RN strolls in a 7:45 am and I asked what was the holdup at the front desk. The receptionist speaks in a rude tone. "my computer system is down". Next she asked me did I fill out my paperwork....Paperwork that she forgot to give me because she was wholly not engaged with the patient. Now its my turn to for my procedure which requires sedation and ALL went well. While still under recovery from sedation the unprofessional RN starts in on saying that she heard I was rude to the receptionist. To have this kind of discussion recovering from sedation is wholly inappropriate, I told the RN I was not rude; but was simply asking questions as stated above. I also told the RN that I did not appreciate her accusatory remarks and speaking with me about such matters while recovering from IV sedation is INAPPROPRIATE. I WILL NEVER EVER VISIT THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!!!! Later, I did call the RN's supervisor which she apologized and said she would address this issue. This is not the first time this particular receptionist has been rude. She appears to be totally unpleasant and unengaged with patients (especially those patients in a great degree of pain). read more

Office visits with your perscribing doctor is limited to TEN (10) minutes. Get them in and get them out. During this Covid-19 stay at home order, they went to Telehealth appointments, nice right, thinking about our safety and financial crisis. Nope, they lied and said the DEA requires a them to have us make Telehealth appointments every two (2) weeks, and ONLY legally able to prescribe a two week perscriptions. This is an outright LIE. I was concerned having to have, myself and my elderly mother to have to venture out to the pharmacy two times a month verses once a month, like before the order. It took WEEKS to get an answer, that it was not a DEA regulation, it was a company policy. Hmmmm...why would my doctor's office INCREASE the probability of their patients contracting Covid-19, by making me go to the pharmacy twice a month??? Simple, they don't care that elderly people DIE from Covid-19. They saw an opportunity to squeeze in TWO billable appointments a month. DO NOT GO TO THIS RIDICULOUS PLACE!!! I had an appointment yesterday. The physician in Annapolis, MD, did not know how to write a prescription, something I did not discover until my Pharmacist said he could not fill the Rx as the prescriber's name and contact information were not on the Rx. I tried to reach the Kure location and it is impossible. They have an offsite call center. The phone rings at the call center for more than 8 minutes before anyone answers. You then have to ask them to connect you to the specific location. That takes nearly 10 minutes. The local Office Manager said there is no way to call the practice directly. Really??? They have not corrected the prescription yet. After more ridiculousness in reaching the office manager again, I was told that she would TRY to reach the physician but that the physician was seeing patients at a different location. I figured it wouldn't be so hard to reach a physician, but this apparently has not happened. I sincerely hope they go out of business soon. This is no way to carry out customer service, especially in a medical practice. Simply unbelievable. My last prescription for pain meds was issued in February 2018. 6 months later I just took my last pill (Tramadol) when the Rx, if taken as prescribed, would have been gone in February. I hate taking meds but need them for longstanding pain issues. I'm delaying surgery as long as I can. This is to show that I do not seek pills as some think people in pain do regularly. This is no way to run a business. I was told by staff there that they have no choice how the business is being run as a corporation has taken them over. I went to the White Marsh office. Before I saw a doctor I was ordered to submit a urine test. I asked why and I was told that it was done because they prescribed opioids. I was not prescribed any medication or opioids and I don't know why I was tested. Later I received a bill for over 400 dollars for the test of numerous drugs. My insurance was billed over 1100 dollars. It was clearly not needed. I question the motivation for ordering a urine test. If I was receiving opioids I understand testing me but charging over 1500 dollars is extreme and intrusive. I did not ask for medication and I did not ask to be sent to pain management. I was sent because of chronic back pain and results of an x-ray and MRI. I was referred by my general practitioner and I will be finding another one because this was one of the worse medical experiences that I have had. The only thing that I got out of this experience was two co pays and a bill for over 400 dollars. . read more

I have had degenerative disk problems that result in sciatica for years so when I woke up in the middle of the night on Monday morning with severe pain I knew what the problem was. My previous experiences were that if the pain was not too bad I could just wait it out and it would go away. There was however one instance when it didn't, and I ended up getting epidural shots to ease the pain. On Monday during the day the pain subsided quite a bit so I figured I had lucked out again. However, the pain came back with a vengeance during the night into Tuesday morning. So I called our family doctor. We decided to try Percocet to control the pain till it hopefully went away. Again the pain diminished quite a bit during the day only to return during the night and into Wednesday morning. It was then that I decided to search for pain management doctors. I located Kure pain management specialists in Annapolis. They had an impressive web page so I called and set up a 9:00 appointment for the next day. Of course that meant another night of excruciating pain. My wife took off work on Thursday and we drove to Annapolis and were at the office at 9:00. It was then that we were told the appointment was actually for 10:00, 9:00 was check in time. So we waited for an hour or so. Eventually my name was called I anxiously went to meet the doctor. I told her the situation and that I did not think I could tolerate another night of such severe pain. We agreed I need an epidural shot. I was so relieved. I asked when I could get it and she told me it might be the next day (Friday) but probably next week. I could not believe it!!!. I told her I could not stand the pain for another night and I needed the shot that day. With that she stood up, picked up her pad and pen, looked me in the eye with a cold blooded stare, and told me in no uncertain terms to check with the front desk and walked out of the room. The bill for that wonderful experience and no pain relief was $386.00. I was beginning to think this was a big mistake. An outfit that claims to be great at pain management tells me I have to put up with excruciating pain for at least another day but probably for four more days for any kind of relief!! My wife and I went to the front desk. Again we stressed the point that the epidural had to be done today. We were informed it could not happen because they had to check to make sure our insurance would cover it. And It turns out that this so called pain management center does not even provide epidurals, we have to go to a place called Bay Surgery Centers LLC, but only after they check out my insurance and call to schedule one. And it is unlikely to happen tomorrow. It was then that the woman we were talking to offered to call and see what could be done. She was informed by another woman behind the desk that there was no one there today. She tried anyway and got no answer. It turns out they are only staffed when they have a procedure scheduled, something we would not find out till later. She then said she would schedule me for Friday morning at 9:00 and hopefully the paper work would get there in time. I reluctantly agreed and we left there absolutely astonished and, to put it mildly, very upset. It was then that we decided to go to our family doctor, Dr. Dobin. We arrived at his office, without an appointment, and explained the situation. The receptionist said she would talk to the doctor. When she returned we were told we would be fitted into the schedule. We actually had only a short wait. When the doctor arrived I told him how the pain did not subside and was not bearable. He immediately gave me a shot of an anti-inflammatory medicine and had a prescription called into our pharmacy and told his staff to locate a doctor to do an epidural that day. They located a doctor, Dr. Merritt, who gave the epidural and a prescription for an anti-inflammatory. I have relatively been pain free since. Compare that to what the fancy Kure pain center did. I think they ought to be sued for false advertisement. We left there and got the prescription filled and went home some time after 4:00. It was then that I tried to call Bay Surgery Centers several time to cancel my appointment for the next day. The phone just rang and rang, not even a recording. So on Friday morning I tried again, same result. Then I called Kure and told them I already got the epidural and I needed to cancel the one they had scheduled. STAY AWAY!!! I was sent to this place as a referral from my primary care physician based on my insurance. Kure is on the 3rd floor on the building and my doctor is on the 4th, so they told me to go downstairs and make an appointment. I went to them and walked up to the girl at front desk and said I need to make an appointment, I stood at the front desk while the girl behind the counter counter money several times over a 10-15 min period, which is hard since I have spine and ankle issues, then she told me to go sit down and wait. I sat down and during another 15 mins she helped 3 other people, they she began to play on her phone, I eventually got fed up and started to walk out and said to her "I guess I just need to call the phone number" She then took my documents and handed me a card with a phone number and said to call to make an appointment and that HIPPA prevented her from helping me before. REALLY! You could have just said that in the beginning! What a lying sack of you know what, I know what HIPPA is and that does not make it so I stand there for ever just to be made to sit down and be ignored. Then I called the phone number and was placed on hold for 20 mins, so I hung up, then called back, I was then transferred to someone who picked up and hung up right away, so now I am making my 4th attempt to make an appointment with another phone call. I told the girl on the phone this time that I have never spoken to her before but that this is F ing crazy that I cannot make an appointment. She got it done for me right away that time. I show up for my appointment and the ridiculous amount of paperwork needed almost made me leave. I was eventually taken into the exam room to wait for the doctor and when the doctor came in to see me, I will not mention his name yet because I maybe forced to go back there, but he is at the Glen Burnie Location, treated me as though I was a punk kid just wanting to wast time and get some pills. He even went as far as to say "I only see people I think I can help, if it does not look like it then I do not even see them" He quickly started to talk about getting injections in my spine. He also was examining my neck and spine and in the process was getting angry at my natural movements to the pain when he would push on my neck, back, and head. He pushed so hard on my head, like he was actually trying to hurt me, if I was not hurt before I sure would be after his exam. Bad staff, bad service, bad attitudes, horrible all around. We will see how this progresses but I will probably file the proper complaints with the insurance carrier, state, and any other government entity needed. Kure also provided the highest level of care for me! They went above and beyond at every turn. I was so happy by my physical therapy. I had been to 2 other places and thought it was not that helpful. I am way ahead with Kure PT. The physician believed me and did not discount my complaints. I was not treated like I had an issues with pain meds. The doctor explained with more receptors are created and this is not good long term at the amount I was on. It made sense and we decreased the dosage and I felt way better. Travis Lee is not a good doctor, at the Novi Michigan KURE pain management office. all he wants is to recommend and implement procedure after procedure on you that's his whole conversation. He don't care how much pain your in, it really not his concern. All he wants is money. He only stays in the room with his patients 6-10 mins tops and at the end of every conversation in regards to your pain is. Let's schedule you for injections or let's schedule you to burn that nerve. Was given sample of Lyrica even though I have kidney failure and take Lizinopril. Big no no. Reception staff and nurse showed no respect for seniors. Horrible unprofessional practice! First appointment I drive from Bowie to Laurel and the office was closed. I called the call center and spoke with an office manager and she didn't understand why the office was close. Waste of time and gas. Next appointment was in Annapolis...I should of listened to my gut. I arrive on time paperwork complete I had to use the bathroom the receptionist said they need a urine sample wait for a tech. I really had to go I drive 20 minutes and drink slot of water during the day. I wanted 15 minutes to be taken to restroom!!!!! Finally the doctor (Asian) guy sees me for all of 5 minutes. I waited 30 minutes pass my scheduled appointment time to be seen. Follow up appointment I called to say I was in traffic ten mins away...call center contacted office and said that's fine he's running behind. Fine I arrive at 4:25 they could not see me...really you wait 20, 30, 45 mins for a doctor to see you regardless of appointment. Ok do not charge me a no show nc I've waited for him previously and I didn't charge him therefore no way I'm paying you 25 or scheduling another appointment give me my X-ray report good bye!!!! After reading Stephanie's review I'm glad I decided not to sign on with Kure Pain Management. Sounds just as I had suspected. See my experience below: The billing employees in the Glen Burnie location do not know anything about workers' compensation. I called twice and then even stopped in to help them and teach them what they have to do in order for me to be seen. All their ads state that they accept Workers' Compensation in bold print. However, they have no idea what they're doing. The receptionist did say most of the billing employees were new. Don't they train them? Both times I called and spoke with Carshea (sp?) and explained to her exactly what she had to do. She didn't follow my directions and wasn't able to get through to anyone at DOL on the phone. The first time we spoke, she was a hurry to get me off the phone and said she was leaving for the day and would call me at 10 the next day. She never called so I called her. She still didn't get approval or even get through on the phone to DOL. I physically drove to their office and was planning on calling DOL while in Kure Pain's office and teaching them what to do. However, this woman was not in. I was told to call back on Monday (this was Friday - I had first called Thursday - if she followed my directions, I'd have been approved Thursday). Dr Foo is absolutely Fabulous! I fell off my porch with heavy weighted bat bags, one on each shoulder. When I fell my left leg slipped off the porch into the garden, my right knee collapsed under me, putting me into a split position and the weighted bags arched my back, hyper extending it backwards and injuring my Sciatica nerve that debilitated my left leg entirely. I was in excruciating pain. It took me 3 weeks dealing with my insurance provider who was not cooperating. Once I found Dr. Foo at KURE my prayers were answered! He was absolutely awesome! He and his staff are extremely kind and patient. They listened to me as I am detailed oriented in my description as most patients are in the doctor's office to explain our condition. He listened intently asked his questions, physically evaluated me, created a plan and explained it thoroughly answering every single one of my questions in a systematic manner, which I appreciated very much. Thank you Dr Foo!!! I highly recommend Dr Foo to anyone interested in getting healed in a timely manner. He did everything he could to get me into his busy schedule for an epidural of cortisone because he realized I have been in severe pain for over a month and he worked face to face with me and the scheduler to get me in ASAP for the procedure which did relieve my pain. When I hobbled into his procedure room his staff was very cordial and explained every detail. Once I got onto the table Dr Foo had a tremendous "bedside" manner. His kindness exudes in his expertise while performing such a touchy procedure of shooting cortisone into my L4, L5 & S1. It was a pleasant experience thanks to Dr Foo and his assistants. I think this place is great. It's coincidently located and the staff has always been nice to me. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because there schedule is not very flexible. I've been going to the Glen Burnie office for years. I see Dr. Saraf, and I used to see Earle Grey before he moved, but now I also see Dr. Steve. They are great both are funny and nice and make you feel comfortable. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because sometimes they run a little bit behind but they always make sure to spend enough time with me when I am seen. read more

I had to get authorization for medications and it is not always easy. The staff at Kure Pain Management was fantastic. I learned that the authorizations had been sent and that my Insurance Company had not reviewed the fax that was sent thoroughly and they found the documentation. When you do not feel well and are in pain it is not easy to navigate the issues with getting medications approved. I cannot thank all of the staff at Kure Pain Management enough. If I was not able to see my doctor I was always able to make an appointment with another physician so that makes things much less stressful. If you have to be seen by a Pain Management Provider it's because your in pain. My medications have been changed in a step wise fashion that have allowed me to have a more positive outlook on my future. I can only say that I cannot wait to get private insurance through Health Choice by October 15th 2015 and see when open enrollment begins. Thank you Kure Pain Management for dealing with Maryland State Medicaid and my MCO. I know it is not easy. Sometimes when your not feeling well you just have to have faith in people. I have always been treated very well. My Doctor really took the time to understand what was happening and reviewed all my records thoroughly so I was able get the right treatment until I can have a more comprehensive medical evaluation done for a very complex healthcare issue. read more
