A long-time fan of Indian Cuisine and self-proclaimed 'foodie', I decided to give this restaurant a first-time try. My take out order was the following: Beef Samosa, Veg Samosa, Lamb curry, Butter Chicken and Jumbo shrimp Vindaloo, one order basmati rice and regular Naan bread. When I went to pick up the order, I was pleasantly greeted by both servers. One server was sweeping and tidying up, the other employee efficiently prepared my order in bags. The restaurant appears clean and organized. The service was friendly and welcoming. I left the restaurant feeling optimistic and headed home with my order. The order was flawless. I opened the take-out containers and placed them on my table. After removing the lids, the sweet anticipation of a delightful meal ensued. The room was filled with a gentle aroma of spices and the beautiful smooth texture of the sauces adorned the table. My husband and I both tried the Beef Samosa's and the Veg Samosas. We were really blown away by them. They were perfectly fried and the ingredients were nicely balanced, the potatoes and veggies weren't mushy and overcooked, the ingredients were 'real'. We quickly moved on to the main dishes. The lamb was carefully braised and flavorful. The sauce was spicy but balanced, smooth in texture on the palette and well blended. I especially liked that all the foods weren't overly seasoned - in fact they were perfectly seasoned. A lot of places I've been to use way too much salt, but Kurry Houzz uses enough to really bring out the flavors but not over power. The chicken was of good quality, and appeared to have been grilled on a kebab with tandoori spices before being added to the sauce. I really liked this because a lot of places just throw cubed chicken breast into the sauce and boil it in the sauce. I thought Kurry Houzz technique made the chicken have a nice texture that wasn't rubbery with a nice reddish surface of spices. The amount of chicken in the dish was very generous. The jumbo shrimps were fresh and delicious and not over cooked. All in all, all dishes had the kind of spiciness that creeps up on you the more you eat. I ordered the spice Medium. I thought the Medium spice was perfect and exactly what I was expecting. The Naan bread was perfect. Somewhat crisp on the outside and that delightful tenderness when you pull it apart. Overall, I think this is definitely among some of the best Indian Food I've ever had. If you were thinking of trying it, please do! I highly recommend. I will definitely be ordering again. As a side note, this location was formerly the Kebab Hut. In my experience, the food was subpar when it was Kebab Hut. It's important to know this place has new owners and the dining experience will be completely different. read more
