I have watched 9 news for many years. I love Kim, she does a great job. Professional, sensitive to the way that news should be delivered. I would love it if Jennifer Meckles could take lessons from Kim & be less expressive in the way she delivers the news. I find myself turning the channel when she is on because she sounds preachy/opinionated, and just too intense when she delivers the news. I'm sure she's a nice person, but could really use some work on her delivery. read more

I love 9 news, but over the years the advertisements are annoying.. Why do you have to have the same advertisements over and over and over again, then they get louder. You can mute but then you have to unmute with the news. How about they are muted, and if you want to hear them, unmute? I watch Channel 9 almost all the time - they are the best overall. I like Chris Tavares, and Jon Tritch on sports. They report the facts without all the acting and theatrics of Scotty Gange. Scotty Gange is a disaster. His prancing in front of the BIG board is ridiculous - is he trying to be an actor? Too much hand waving, smiling constantly, left eye squinting when he tries to be serious, always looking down at the end of his on-air desk sign-offs so he can see himself on the monitors below the big clear desk. I haven't watched 9news in 4 yrs. However, I saw debate between Gabe Evans and Yadira Caraveo last wk. Kyle Clark was horrible. This was NOT a debate, there was absolutely NO debating. No back and forth discussion between candidates. It was an interrogation by 2 rude, disrespectful, arrogant leftist journalists way out of league attempting to act as moderators and as objection journalists! Kyle Clark definitely has TDS, completely obsessed with Trump, didn't care at all about digging into Gabe Evans beliefs, policies, background etc... My family member was killed in Denver, Colorado under suspicious circumstances, and the Denver Police Department was found guilty of not performing an adequate investigation. I spearheaded the effort of our family to get justice and accountability for our family member by exposing this story through the media because the department of public safety and the mayor's office would do nothing. After having the story covered by the Denver Post, I relentlessly tried to contact multiple individuals at KUSA because I had respect for their reporting and did not receive a call back for a number of months until one of their benchwarmers, Mr. Jeremy Jojola, finally returned my call. I provided Mr.Jojola with an enormous folder, full of evidence and information regarding the case. He responded by telling me that because my father was not shot that they were not interested in the story. So in other words because of the fact that my father was either run over by a hit run driver or beaten to death in assault, that wasn't a good enough story for their "what bleeds leads," news philosophy. Needless to say, I have lost all respect for this news agency and its reporters. Specifically, Kyle Clark and Jeremy Jojola as well as their producers should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I don't live in Denver, but if I did, I know that these people are not serving the community. read more

I finished a show I'd dvr'd and had the bad luck to have their newscast on tonight. Their anchors are crowing and gloating about how they weren't wrong about this storm. Um...so, they are saying it started Friday night and we had 5' of snow? Not only were they wrong, their hype caused healthcare providers across the metro area to cancel vaccine clinics yesterday. I quit watching their morning show because they don't bother to actually report news, they just ask their viewers to fill the air time with their opinions. Obviously, their evening crew is just as useless. A real news station would have put community concerns before ratings. I have watched 9 News for 34 years. I read 5 newspapers a day and watch some national news channels. Basically, the only interesting thing you have left is local sports. I have stood by the station's revolving door of sports reporters. Scotty Gange was a good high school reporter. It appears that you are changing the diversity of your staff which is not a bad thing, but most of these young 'uns don't know how to do their job. Your good staff like Danielle & Rod are fleeing to other stations or retiring. And all of these recent changes are making me uneasy about your future. The new kids on the block don't have the feeling of fellowship & friendliness the stars you had on staff before were bursting with. The photo is blown up large enough to read the half page of notes, then second rate reporters begin speculating on what just happened. Kyle Clark joins the fray when he reports on 9News, and on his own show "Next" that Trump was consulting with "the My Pillow Guy" about Marshall Law. Shame on Kyle Clark for reporting as fact what is nothing more than media speculation, and for 9News for allowing him to turn their network into to a broadcast tabloid. Did anyone even consider that Trump's Twitter and Facebook accounts have been shut down? Mike is a long time supporter of Trump, with a very large Christian following on social media. Did anyone at 9News even consider that Trump may have asked Mike Lindell to help put out his message out to Mike's readers? It's all speculation, but 9News chose to broadcast the most shocking, although least likely story as news. Possible? Yes, but clearly unlikely. But I am sure it stirred up a base of anti-Trump followers who turn to Kyle Clark for an explanation. Classic tabloid! I was horrified by the sensationalism. As a trauma counselor I work daily with vicarious trauma. PTSD caused by hearing / reading / seeing violent stories. 9 news click bait attitude is appalling in the sensationalism of a dog killed by being dragged. ( I will leave out the details) 9 news has turned into a click bait online news station. With all the trauma of the pandemic the last thing anyone needs is a heart crushing story about a dog. It is unprofessional and shocking. You have lost a 20 yr reader. I understand its news but you just gave a lot of people a serious case of vicarious trauma. I have been a fan of Channel 9 News for many years, however, it has become increasingly trivial. One example is a very lengthy story about a women in Boulder who plays guitar for and hikes with her Guinea pigs! Another example was a story this morning about Gummy Bears. While I appreciate that we are spared much of the vitriol that is prevalent in the news, there needs to be a better balance. I have watched 9news since the days of Carl Akers and always knew that 9news was far and away the best, but over the past year or two I have noticed a lot of technical glitches, grammatical errors in graphics and liberal slants that never used to be there. I've been watching NBC LA channel 4 for at least 30 years. I do not at all want to be rude, but I can't watch it anymore because of the morning weather girl. The voice and the hand and arm movements are way over the top. Only saying something because over the holidays so many family and friends felt the same. The others are great in our opinions. read more
