I called around 1pm on a Sunday and he said come in around 3:30pm same day, which was great because it was my bf's kid's 16th birthday. Alex worked professionally and everything was clean. Marco's artwork is nothing short of amazing, and he's a totally chill guy. We worked out my design via email ahead of time--and, satisfied with the final draft, we set an appointment. We did a fairly large and detailed piece on my arm, and Marco managed to knock it out in one six-hour session. I'd leave 0 stars for the overall experience if possible. The man wasn't kind, nor apologetic for what I endured. I asked for 4 helix piercings, and he carried out the procedure to commence. He pierced me and hurt me for approximately 10 minutes struggling to place the jewelry in. He finished up by saying he needed to request the proper size from his jeweler, and pierced me for no reason. He didn't even know that the shop didn't carry the proper size before struggling for 10 minutes. He had a cold demeanor throughout, and failed to offer afterward care. I asked him, "so there's nothing you can do for me?" He said, "no I need to request proper jewelry." He didn't offer a follow up appointment to fix his wrongs, or anything following the painful, pointless procedure. He was training a young man who observed the whole thing... He's not someone who should be training anyone to pierce. I shrugged it off, and left shocked by the horrible customer service/experience. This review is my only consolation to advise others and be cautious of walking into 5 star review places... I figure someone needs to place jewelry/pierce me properly following this situation. Going to another place immediately hoping to avoid re-doing the hole at a later time. I choose "Oak & Poppy" on Ventura Blvd. expecting a better experience due to MORE positive reviews... Which totally recuperated my wasted time! 1) She assessed the anatomy of my ear and told me what I wanted couldn't be done completely. (Though as opposed to 4, 2 helix piercings would work) The man at Kustom Kulture drew up the holes without a forewarning of any kind. 2) The picture w/ markings were drawn by what can be done based on my request, and photo provided. She's honest and said he pierced it so shallow, and incorrectly. 2) She said that my ear was very swollen, and needed 1 week of healing. She drew me up, and said to return in 7 days. Bummed again because he ruined my enthusiastic plans for a piercing this weekend. She said the swelling may make the piercing look crooked when healed, so I agreed/understood. 3) She also mentioned to be a member of the Association of Professional Piercers. She shared thorough knowledge, an explanation, and treated me so kindly throughout. She was in disbelief by my experience, but said to have heard of the place... Such a contrast from Kustom Kulture in every aspect... I wish to have gone to Oaks & Poppy first. My sister who accompanied me also got a piercing at Oaks & Poppy, so they'll lose business every time I can share my experience. From his demeanor, to ambience, struggle, and ruthlessness following there is no comparison to any other local spot w/ good reviews... I'm sure of it. read more

So I got a tattoo somewhere else. It came out looking like crap. I decided to look around for another tattoo shop to fix it. They made look better. I got a second tattoo here. Then decided to add to my first tattoo. The word look bad. Then I want 3 small birds they change me the shop fee which is $100. I got 3 little bird. I go home take car of them like I always take care of my tattoos. Within 3 day the 3 little bird turn infected. The 3 little birds are still infected. I told the artists I have sever autoimmune diseases and no immunity. Infusions could kill me. The only ointment I can use for infections is proscription ointment because I'm allergic to everything else. I've been using it 4 days and the 3 little bird look no better. I had said while the artist was doing the 3 little birds that it hurt really badly. My other tattoos even fixing one of them never hurt like the 3 little birds did. I probably will never go back to this place. Plus I had to chase this artist dawn to get him to even do my tattoo. I came day 3 times the second time the artist made an appointment he did not honor and pushed me off to someone else who screwed up the color. I want a dark brown I got a lighter orangey brown. That artist told me I told him to use that color after I ask him why the color does mach. This place isn't as good as I though. Between the infusion and the screwed up color I will Never Go Back Ever Again!!! My health is more important then someone F*cking it up with an infection. I have had nothing but bad experiences with getting tattoos. I will never get another tattoo ever again. I spent $100 to get an infusion that could patently kill me. Because I have autoimmune diseases. I don't think you expect to get a tattoo and come out with an infection. I'm very upset. Many people have my kind of autoammun diseases and get tattoo lsd. I talked to people I know through a private forum and everyone who got a tattoo said I would be fine getting one. To make sure I gonto a clean shop so I Do Not Get An Infection. I was recommended this shop by several people one was a shop close to were I live that only deals with big tattoos. Here's a picture of one of the 3 birds that's influenced. I am very careful about aftercare. I clean my tattoos with no sent sensitive soap. Then I put on Lubriderm Tattoo Lotion alternating Aquaphor Healing Ointment. That worked every other time. I never got an infection before. I'm very angry about this. My health is at stake. read more

First impression when I walked in, the place was super clean and neat, which I loved! There were 3 guys there and they were very nice, had a welcoming vibe and most importantly, professional. I got my nose pierced with Alex who was attentive, professional, patient with me, answered all of my questions, was extremely detailed and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Also, he made sure that every step of the procedure was clean and sterile. He wore gloves and had everything sanitized, tools were coming out of sterilization bags which was nice to see and made me feel safe! Honestly, I hate giving two stars, especially since the service was awesome, but I feel like we were swindled. Before I came in, I called the shop to ask if they were having a Friday the 13th deal! I was told they had $30 flash tattoos and your own design starting at $50. So my friend and I get there and were looking at the flash tattoos and we didn't see any that we really liked, so we asked if we got something small (the size of a quarter) behind our ears if they would honor the $30 flash price. The owner Alex, who is super nice and friendly, said he would since they were small. It was my friends first tattoo and Alex made her feel super comfortable. He made the whole experience awesome, until it was time to pay. He charged us $50 each for a tiny little design when we were told it would be $30. It was super shady because he didn't even confirm the amount he just charged our cards. We didn't know he was charging us $50 until we had to sign for it. The size of our tattoos are not worth $50, and we would not have gotten them if we knew we were paying $50. For $50 we could have gotten two of the same size or used that towards a bigger design. I really hate that this happened because Alex was really awesome. But we won't be coming back for fear of being ripped off again. read more

Worst service of my life. I came in here to get a simple second piercing on both my ears. As soon as i get there the receptionist is eating with a customer who's getting s tattoo. Do your job as a receptionist and attend to customers that walk in, not that hard. Eventually we let her know what i want and she looks at some guy drawing a tattoo and he says okay after some convincing, then he tells us to take a seat, i thought he was going to get the supplies but no he goes to where the receptionist is at, back with the customer eating, and takes a few bites out of her bowl and then after a few minutes he tells me to go take a seat. After the piercing, im waiting to pay so im at the reception area and I literally had to ask thr guy who pierced my ear who's gonna charge me bc i was standing there for a few minutes waiting to pay. Then he says 50$ i have only a $100 bill which i hand him for the change and he literally takes it out of his own wallet then asks the receptionist for an extra 5$ since he didnt have enough for the 50 cash back. Super sketchy since he straight up pockets the money unless this is how it's actually run. Worst customer service ever. read more
