The company lied about offering financing, otherwise I would never have agreed to the work. "The work" they performed was minimal: cutting some drywall and discarding it, peeling up my floorboards, spraying a substance on the subfloor, and running a fan for nearly six weeks. The workers were only in the house three times for a grand total of about four hours. Crucially, when they left, the remediation work was NOT complete. Another company had to be brought in later to finish the job, which involved properly replacing rotted, moldy floorboards with new ones. That said, around week two--before the work had even progressed a quarter of the way--they sent a bill for nearly $7,000. The person I met with initially had quoted a price of under $2,000. For reference, the actual proper remediation work they failed to do only cost the second company about $450. This company was called out for a flood in an out building, I told them to only pull flooring and trim as there was concrete under flooring @nd wall had metal backs. They proceeded to tear up 8 walls when my insurance called to tell me what they were doing. I called and told them to cease and desist. they left their fans and I came home to a mess, 4 days later they came for their stuff and wanted extra money for tearing up walls and leaving equipment that I had told them to take. so then they tried to do a fraudulent claim saying they did an asbestos test, which they never did as the whole thing wasn't even four years old. Insurance said they were going to deny it, but somehow they did get paid for it even though there were no lab results because there was no test. Don't call these guys...... dishonest. read more

A customer of mine recommended Kustom after my washer overflowed .....if nothing else, I was told, have them measure the moisture. So I did, and had the pleasure of meeting Miguel Lopez. He was on time, friendly & knowledgable. I've worked in customer service for over 40 years and Miguel knows how to give good customer service! He said he'd work me up an estimate. As a single woman, I am always leery about being taken advantage of, because some businesses have no shame. The estimate came. I had some questions, he came back...on time, just as friendly as the last time, but this time he had a co-worker in tow....Sylvester. I wish I got his last name, but what a guy! The most respectful & pleasant kid I have met in a very long time. (By "kid"...he was mid-20s) These guys were awesome. I can't speak toward the work or the finished product. This company stole thousands and thousands of dollars house. They misplaced some of my valuable I tried to negotiate to happen get back to me or pay me what they and what their damage and I never ever answer. There are sentimental value items like family pictures that I never gonna get back this is one of the worst things to me and I'm 57 years old they fought me to pay them to the last penny but I cannot get back thousands of dollars of damage items. They did a horrible job into my house. The insurance pay them to remove floor to even to the stats they put the floor on top of the linoleum they never any of the damage items. They just put stuff on top of the floor wet insulation is still in my house. This is one of the worst companies I have ever ever known. we and file a lawsuit against this bad company and get back what they us. read more

++We have been dealing with this company for going on 7 months now! I should have listened to my wife, when at 1 in the morning when we had our house fire (Power panel blew up, smoke damage upstairs and downstairs), this guy shows up to give us his "Business Card' for Kustom Restoration, and to tell us that he is "Here to help". My wife called him an ambulance chaser, She was right. After 7 months, we still do not have the right stove (3 try is a charm, right Pablo?) We are still waiting for the correct HW heater we purchased in January. I should have made a blog about this nightmare, but 1- I did not see this job lasting as long & 2-I will just upload screenshots and emails between us and Kustom. We lived 1 month with no water other than what we got from the tub, after Pablo told us "Sure, your ok to move back in!" My sone did not have a working bathroom for over a month, (This is after they caused the sewage to backup downstairs, and tried to blame us and attempted to file another claim. (We had pictures of the paper towels they shoved down the drain, AND video from roto-rotor tech pulling out the same paper towels from the pump. I could also tell you about they only put the front feet of the washer and dryer, not the back feet. Which caused the metal corners of the W/D to gouge the wood floor. Still waiting for that, the blinds, the floor molding, sealing my son's toilet, lights, screens for my windows, front door seal, (When the sprinklers came on this month, the water flooded the landing, as there was no weather stripping around the door. I can only get them to text, as they will not return phone calls or emails, is when I called their corporate headquarters. But I have to do this every 2-3 weeks otherwise the show up for 2 hours every 2 weeks on average. Still no mirrors in the bathrooms, Pablo?? they have been sitting in our front room for a month now!!. I will say. Their only saving grace is their electrical subcontractors. I don't know where to even start. They did a TERRIBLE JOB on their first day. Installed electrical outlets where they did NOT obviously go. When I asked the project manager about it, her response was "the assumed they went there"... They were in the CEILING OF THE BASEMENT. whyyyy would anyone in their normal mind ASSUME an outlet goes in a CEILING?!?! They Patched drywall BEFORE PLUMBING was even finished! So that had to be ripped back out, and re-done. What construction company patches a wall with dry wall with EXPOSED PIPES?!?! (Clearly this one). Ruined my baseboards when they took them out. LOST my backsplash and my kick toes to my counters. Did a crap job of restoring my cabinets. --THEIR CONSTRUCTION WORKERS WORDS, NOT MINE---- Kept delaying work and ordering products. After two months of WAITING for a PROPER job to be done, we fired the company. I complained to my insurance company for EVER recommending this "restoration" co. I've asked for TWO WEEKS now, for an ITEMIZED bill for what I'm being charged with, to assure I am not getting charged for the crap work the was done, or charged for work that was NEVER DONE. Still NO RESPONSE. They keep telling me they are "working on it" and will have it by the end of the day. This was 2 weeks ago. Suck GARBAGE WORK! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! We hired Kustom to help with a water issue in our bathroom. They came out and did the work after some time waiting on our insurance, but the problem was the random bills we have received in between services. 1200 in estimate fees. Absolutely Do Not use these guys. I had a relatively minor water leak problem in the basement. I called my insurance company and they called Kustom Restoration. All they did was come over, drop off fans, turn them on, leave, then return in 4 days to pick up the fans. No significant work such as opening up the wall, clean up excessive water on the floor, etc. The bill was $2000. What the heck??? I was stuck with the whole bill since insurance didn't cover flooding. I tried to reason with Kustom telling them I'm a retired veteran with limited funds and maybe cut me a break since insurance isn't helping. Their response? Tough luck, pay up. Bottom line, Kustom has very poor value for services rendered. Use them at your own risk! read more

These men came out to my house when my pipes froze and found several leaking broken pipes. They told me that they were going to turn off the water for me so that when it thawed, it wouldn't flood my foundations. They advised me to get a plumber out right away. I did as they instructed. The plumber who came out told me that they definitely had not turned off the water anywhere and it didn't look like even any attempt to turn the water off had been made. Unfortunately, it was even colder by that time and the valve was frozen at the sidewalk so there was nothing they could do to turn it off without breaking the valve stem. Last night, everything thawed at once of course, completely flooding my bathroom and the crawl space under my house and foundations. I called Kustom back to get help, and ask why their people had lied and said they turned off the water when they obviously hadn't. The man I spoke to Paul was incredibly rude and condescending. Said that his guys didn't do anything wrong. Said that they probably thought they had turned off the valve, but didn't get it. I explained that the plumber said my valves hadn't been even attempted to be turned off anywhere that he could see. The man made more condescending remarks implying that I didn't know what I was talking about. I said I didn't understand how they would think the valve had been shut when it wasnt especially when they would still see the dripping broken pipes? I said at any rate, I was now worried about my foundations and I told him that I needed the flooded water removed and they informed me that since I had accused them of lying that they were never going to come back to my house ever again, and I could expect their invoice in the mail which he actually stated rather threateningly. The men who did come out originally were also very creepy. They broke my laundry hamper and then hid it in my laundry room instead of just telling me about it and they also went into my bedroom and put one of their business cards under my pillow for me to find. I'm horrified at this experience. I would never ever recommend these people to anyone ever. read more
