This is located on an Industrial Estate about 2mins from Swadlincote town centre so it is easy to…read morefind and has ample of parking spaces but that is all that it has going for it. Yes the prices are cheap but so are the products.really wouldn't go there again. The wallpapers that they sell are very thin see through types and that is if you are lucky enough to find enough rolls of the one typenot to mention the pattern numbers. The tend to sell the cheaper brand of paint or paint that you have never heard of. Like most things you get what you pay for. The building is a wharehouse building with just box after box of wallcoverings.little choice really but if you are on a budget then this could help you out.

This place offers competitive prices, especially if you are looking to purchase furniture on an…read moreaverage budget- as not everyone can afford to go to the lavish stores. It's great if you're looking to purchase items like tables, TV stands etc. Don't get me wrong there are a few pieces which do cost more but it's still reasonably priced. Me and my boyfriend were looking for a place to buy a TV stand for our flat and he suggested we visit the Soho Road area because they have shops where you can buy things for much lower prices than other parts of the city. When we were driving down the road, we came across Alexandra Furnishings and it looked like they had a large selection of items, so we decided to stop and take a look. It was a good job we did stop, as we managed to purchase a TV stand for £50 which was really nice- now our TV has a happy home
Trident Housing Association's remit is the the same as other housing associations, in that they…read moreexist to help homeless people and other people in vulnerable situations find safe homes, and eventually purchase their own homes. I ended up living in Trident House, a large apartment complex, for the tail end of last summer. As you might expect, it's not exactly shining with luxury, and bits of it definitely look like they could do with some attention. The small newsagents definitely seems a bit sorry for itself, with only a handful of items for sale. However, the atmosphere outstrips the upkeep - it definitely has a community feel, with most people that you meet in the lift being happy to talk to you and help you out if necessary. Despite the upkeep issues, Trident should be commended for the good work they do with the people of Birmingham. (I'd like to point out that I visited one of their house recently and that was in much better condition than the apartment block). One can only imagine that the current economic climate only makes their job harder.

You can click onto quite a bargain at Devlins with their offcuts. They provide a free measuring up service, carry a lot of stock and tend to be able to fit quite quickly. The store used to be in an old converted petrol station which always looked a bit scruffy, when they moved to neare the canal it improved their appeal considerably. I have had an off cut of carpet edged here and made into a runner style mat for the hall. This means it matched the carpet and i got to choose the size so that it fits the space instead of making do. I recomentd this store.

I have to admit when walking into this shop for the first time, it did look like a tip and the appearance in one half of the shop was not great. Especially as this is a carpet shop, you would expect the cleanliness and appearance to be first-class. I didn't get that impression when walking into the shop. But the other half of the store that had all the carpets was in much better condition. There were a number of different carpets in terms of designs and colours. I have to say the carpets on sale here are for sure affordable and not too expensive. The staff are OK but I still think Britannia Carpets could do with being refurbished. Just by entering the store, people could so easily be put off and I would understand.

Looking for a place that specialises in decorating? Home Zone could be your answer. With hundreds…read moreof wallpapers and paints to choose from, you really are spoilt for choice. This is supposed to be a decorating store and yet the carpets do appear tacky. Not exactly what you want if you have someone inspecting the store. I do like the wallpapers on sale and there so many designs. There are also wallpapers for kids when it comes to decorating their rooms. The paints on offer come in all different colours and sizes so you cannot complain. Prices are reasonable however I did find some of wallpapers to be pricey. The staff who work at Home Zone do know their stuff inside out and they can also provide you with samples of wallpapers for you to look at and take home. Decent place to come to in my opinion if you are looking for decoration equipment/products.

In their showroom they have a wide variety of double glazed windows and doors to fit any style of house. They also fit fascias, guttering and garage doors, as well as installing flat rooves. The salesman and the staff that measure up are friendly and helpful, allowing you to make you to make your own decisions, rather than using the hard sell that blights so many other double glazing firms. The fitting staff that installed the windows and doors were proficient at their trade, keen to get on and produce a quality finish. Swadlincote Window Co are a professional company that pride themselves on their finished product. We were so happy with their workmanship, we also employed them to fit us a new garage door. The price is also competitive, which gives them another edge over their rivals.
