Yay! Kuts N Kisses! I recently adopted a 2-year-old female dog that I knew nothing about. I soon discovered she couldn't stand getting her nails cut. A co-worker told me that she brings her dog to Kuts N Kisses, and is very happy with the work they do. I was also pleased to hear what they charged. They were cheaper than the pet stores. I called them and they said I can bring her in it anytime, which just amazed me, so I brought her in. They did a great job while I waited, and I loved the price. I got bad marks on my report card for not brushing under her arms. Second time I got better marks. Love the pictures we get to add to her scrapbook. Highly recommend this groomer. I think Kuts & Kisses is under new management. We have been going to their establishment for several years with out a problem in fact I appreciated their service initially. I missed one appointment last year, and they Fined me 25.00 no warning. I paid it in protest, and still tipped the groomer 25 plus percent. Whoever the new women is at their front desk has no idea how to handle authority. Fast forward today I handed my dog over to the young gal that was actually going to do the grooming and told her she really does a good job and we appreciate her. As I was leaving Miss Attitude calls me over to chastise me for being 10 minutes late. Needless to say we had some words. I have noticed my dog has been a nervous wreck lately when I have taken her there since the change in management. I was asked to leave and quite frankly I was getting ready to anyway. I used to be happy with this place. Not anymore. Took my dog in for a haircut and her chest was literally raw and without hair. Sorry they said. OK. Took her for her next haircut and guess what, this poor dog is going nuts dragging her butt crying, running from room to room. When I looked at her privates they were raw. She looks like she has a little cut on where she pees and her anus is raw. Never again will I subject my poor dog to that torture. Think twice before taking your pet there. read more

We have been taking our dogs to Kuts and kisses since they have first opened. Renee has always been so kind, loving, and treated our pets with excellent care. She is so passionate about dogs, and she has gone above and beyond for all of our babies. When our dog Lucy passed away a few years ago, she gave us a frame with some of our favorite photos that she took over the years with her name. I live in ferndale now and drive all the way to Shelby Township just to take my dog there. They always do an amazing job and take so much care of our babies. This place is TERRIBLE. Do not take your dog here. They tried to tell us our Labradooble was matted to the point where he needed to be shaved. We know if our dog is matted or not and this was definitely not that in comparison to what he has been. This was a case where they clearly didn't want to spend the time to brush him and thought shaving him down would be the faster option. Like we wouldn't know the difference. The lady who groomed him wasn't even there when my husband picked him up and when I went to call 15 minutes later they were closed. For $80 we could have done this ourselves. I was recommended to this place. Making my first appt I was disconnected from the call (s) 4 different times. I took my dog there for a first puppy cut thinking I was looking for a place I could continue doing business with. I was happy with the first cut and got a good report card regarding my dogs behavior. It was never recommended to me to make my second appt at that time. My second attempt was just as bad. Called several times leaving a message to call me back. According to the website they were opened on mondays. Now it's Tuesday afternoon almost 4:00 and I still have not heard back from them as the tell you in the recording. The receptionist told me "oh yeh we haven't gotten to that yet"! it's April 4 and the earliest appt with my gal is the beginning of June. The receptionist never offered another groomer to meet my needs. This is the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Needless to say they lost a client but most of all I will let people know about my experience. Kuts and kisses definately does not need another client! read more

We have been a loyal customer of Kuts N Kisses for about 2 years now an in the last 6 months we have started having issues. First they had an influx of new groomers and they where having issues. Our dogs came back with razor burns on them from the clippers. We chalked it up to the new groomers and our dogs being squirmy. We have always been happy with their grooming in the past so we were not too concerned. We continued to go to them and were often called to come in early to help with their schedule, which we accommodated them. We are also very quick to pick up our dogs and we always tipped very well. Until today....... Today we found it odd that they never called to confirm our appointment that we made two weeks ago so we called them. They had no record of our appointment and they said they would dig into it and call us back. Thirty minutes later they called back and said we cancelled the appointment (it was erased in their books) and that we would now have to wait another 2 weeks to get in. First of all only one of us even makes their appointments and they sure as heck didn't cancel it, and secondly, we were always flexible to their schedules to help them out and yet when they blatantly screwed up they refused to accommodate us. Our dogs are already overdue for grooming and we cannot wait two more weeks. Their customer service has been going downhill for a while now and we feel its time to move on. I caution anyone looking for a new groomer, Kuts N Kisses is not the same as they used to be. read more

Can't speak for the grooming itself, but the dog daycare (where your grooming dog will be staying) is DISGUSTING. I took my dog exactly twice, and on the second day I asked to look in and see the other dogs. What I saw was poop, pee, and shredded towels all over the floor. No toys, no beds, just a hard dirty floor. The dogs weren't playing, just kind of sitting there or hiding in the corner. The man inside that was supposed to be watching them was on his cell phone. I felt really bad for the big dogs, who have a super small room to sit in. Definitely not enough room to run and play, and again there were no toys or beds. The owner was also very pushy about getting me to come back, saying my dog had "the time of his life." Well, my dog came back to me smelling like pee, and was overjoyed to be home again. I think I'll try a different dog daycare that actually has someone watching and playing with them. read more

Took my lab here a couple of times. They really didn't do a good job. Every time she still smelled afterward like they didn't shampoo her very well, instead they just sprayed her with stinky perfume to cover it up. The first time I picked her up they had cut one of her toenails too short which started bleeding in the parking lot. The LAST time, it had taken them well over four hours to bathe her, and she was still damp! Worse yet, her feet were wet with pee. I once paid extra for a deshed package and saw no difference in the quality of her groom. This place really isn't worth the price and it seems dirty. The owner also rubbed me the wrong way when I asked to see where the dogs were kept - she seemed hesitant to show me. I have every right to see where my dog will be kept!! Can't say I was impressed. We've been talking our Golden here for two years now. We loved the idea that the dogs weren't caged and that got even better when they expanded into the space next to them for even more room for the dogs. Everyone that works here is always super friendly. Our Golden is up in age and they are very attentive to all of her skin sensitivities and older dog aches and pains. In the beginning we went through a few different style of cuts and finally got it down to a short cut so that less visits for an elderly dog are needed. They give the dogs a report card, a treat, and a photo of your dog dressed for the season, sports team, or special event! Our Golden usually always gets A's and the one time she didn't she raced to the back yard to do her business as soon as we brought her home. That explained immediately why she was "squirmy"! We have also taken our Maine Coon sat to Kuts N' Kisses. He has never been to a groomer and was getting matted due to dry skin issues. They shaved him down and she he did a great job. Super polite animal loving staff No cages Taking the time to listen to the owner regarding your pets need A happy dog! I Recommend this place to everyone! They take adorable themed glamor shots of your pet after the grooming session. I don't know how they get them to sit still to take such a great photo with cute background/props. Bonus little bandana when finished. I have a tiny dog that can be shy sometimes, but she doesn't have an issue and likes the groomers. They pamper them and it shows! I have been to a couple groomers, but these guys are my favorite. If I could rate a zero I would. Never take a Pomeranian there. After specifically telling Natalie to shave his butt area and summer cut his body showing a trimmed section of one inch with my hands, she shaved him jeopardizing his coat for life. I hope it grows back full. I am already looking at alternatives to help. They refunded my money as the manager was apologetic but it's no good when they have untrained groomers and write notes on scraps of paper instead of having some level of quality control like an instruction sheet and a customer sign off . What a wonderful salon for your pup! Been bringing my English Springer Spaniel, Abigail, here to see groomer Katie (who is equally as awesome!) and have not yet been disappointed. Renee, the owner, is nice and always has a smile for you. Can get busy (because they're wonderful!) so I would call ahead for an appointment, however I have done a last minute "same day" feet trim and it wasn't a problem. Highly recommended!! read more

I was extremely disappointed! They completely poodled my doodle even though I specifically asked for a short trim and I specifically asked for them not to shave around his face and to keep him looking scruffy. As you can tell he is completely shaved around his face and they even shaved his eyebrows and eyelashes completely off! Ridiculous! When I came home I also realize that they cut his tail so short that he was bleeding and his skin was red! They forgot to mention that they cut his tail! How unprofessional! They weren't even supposed to trim his tail and obviously they did not follow directions with that either. To make matters worse it took them 6 hours to groom him and another hour for them to fix the cut once I got there and saw how uneven his body and face was. The cut was uneven with patches of long hair around his bottom and legs. To make things worse this was the grooming we had done for his first birthday and for his first birthday party which is the only reason I went back for them to fix him. I wanted him to at least look decent for his pictures. It was by far the worst cut he has ever received in the whole 10 months we've had him. I will never return to this facility even though they refunded my purchase and offered a different groomer! Completely traumatized and so disappointed! My little Rat Terrier is back from her first visit to Kuts N Kisses. She can be a little timid around new people and dogs. The staff was very sweet with her. When the time came to pick her up she was free, roaming the open area. She loves to sniff around and generally be nosy so it works out great. I opted to get the "de-shed" treatment and it seems to have worked. My black pants don't have nearly the amount of hair on them as usual. And she smells like sugar cookies! Yum! The report card and photo are great. The staff really goes the extra mile and you can tell they love what they do! As long as Lola is getting dirty and her nails are growing, we will be visiting Kuts N Kisses! read more

I took my dog to Kuts N Kisses for the very first time last week. I had informed them that my dogs last grooming at another place had made a mess of her coat. Choppy, uneven, a true hack job. I made an appointment with Kathy and when I picked her up she looked amazing. I was so thrilled because we had a Westie event the following day! Kathy explained everything she had to do to even her out and it would start coming together after a couple more groomings. I scheduled her next appointment that same day. We have been taking our dogs here for a little over 2 years and we love this place. The best thing is they don't cage the dogs. Sometimes they are a little slow and it take 5 hours for them to call you saying your dog is done but other than that our dogs are happy and smell great after going here. read more

I took my dog Sophie in for her first grooming in 11 years. She is a pure bred Papillon and had all of the makings of a show dog. I say all of this to let you know how important her looks and her health is to me. Never the less not only her but I was a little nervous about her first time at the beauty shop. After spending several minutes telling them what I thought I wanted I left her in their care. After several hours they called me to say she was doing and I could pick her up. I arrived and could hear her playing with the other customers. When she came out I was so surprised. She was gorgeous. She looked ten years younger, happy and running around with the rest of her new friends. I could not have asked for her to look any better. I am so happy with the groomer and will tell everyone I know what an outstanding business this place is. They are not only great groomers but they no how I would want me dog treated. They don't have cages they just let the dogs play with each other or beds if they need to take a nap. I can't brag enough about them and will do everything I can do to make them number 1 in their business practice read more

Very high priced. Was not satisfied with the quality care of my dog. Within 48 hours of my dogs visit, she became extremely ill. After a pricy vet bill, it was determined that she probably contracted a bacterial infection from this salon. Won't put my dog through this ever again and I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. I wouldn't trust them to properly wash my pet gerbil without putting it in harms way. Disinfect the floors on a regular basis for Gods sake. Please take pride in your establishment. I'm sure corners are being cut. I'm just glad my poor dog didn't die read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. No personal service at all! Very defensive about everything and Yikes this place does NOT like dogs with any tangles! I have a 7 pound adorable Shih Tzu (who does not like to be brushed) so I bring her to the salon every 3 to 4 weeks. Mind you she is an inside dog - literally never goes outside and I carry her everywhere. And if she would let me brush her every day I totally would hence the reason I have to take her to be groomed every 3-4 weeks. I used to take her to Shag & Swag since she was born but the owner sold her salon and the girl who always groomed her (who loved my dog and never charged extra for anything) left when it was sold. That place felt like family and knew my dog by name and called me by my name so maybe I was just spoiled. So I started going to Kuts N Kisses. The last 3 times I have taken her to Kuts N Kisses they have charged me extra for a "matt fee" . Now I would call them tangles maybe - but matts NO. If my dog would sit still for me I could detangle her in a minute so for actual groomers this shouldn't be a major deal. And I would be curious what they charge for 100 pound dogs that actually have big matts? And you would think I would be treated nicely since I have been going there once a month. Anyhow, the charge wasn't even my issue and I never complained about it...until this past Saturday. My appointment was for 2 p.m. (and my dog obviously gets very stressed out about going) so the girl came out and had my dogs card with her and first thing she immediately started feeling her for tangles and said "oh I can feel some matts here - (like my dog was flagged or something for matts) then said it would be over 3 hours because she was still working on another dog - so I said can I bring her back in like 45 minutes I would rather her be with me instead of waiting all that time there. She was like well ok so I went home then they left a message right away and wanted me to call and when I called back she was like I know you have had one of the other girls groom her the past few times so.. and I was like so you don't want me to come back? Now I do admit that I was not my best self over the phone (and was going to apologize for being so crabby when I got back) but I was confused as to why she was calling and upset about the wait (they could totally text and say can you come an hour later or whatever). Anyhow when I got back the owner Renee was there and rudely said Im the owner and asked if she could hold my dog and immediately started brushing her (I guess to see if she had tangles???) I didn't get a hi how are you, sorry for the wait or confusion - nothing. Not good customer service at all. Then when she called to say my dog was ready (which was only over an hour or so later) she said I'm charging you a matt fee because it took me so long to get her matts out?? And when I got there to pick her up Renee said how my dog doesn't like being brushed. - So $61 dollars and an awful experience all around. I would hate to see how they treat owners and dogs who actually have real matts?? - I won't be taking my dog back there - and I don't think they will mind. read more

A friend of mine has been going to kuts and kisses with her dog, who mind is about 5lbs with short hair who is regularly bushed, cleaned, and cut. She, due to traffic was a few minutes late to her wash and cut appointment and THEY TURNED HER AWAY! They actually turned away a two year loyal customer who had a set appointment. Been going here for a few years now. Today was the last straw for us. Through the years, we have been accommodating to their schedules (often receiving calls on the day of a scheduled appointment to see if we could bring ours in earlier than scheduled), we have been prompt with pick-ups and drop-offs, always tipped our groomers well, and turned our head when quality of care may have been slipping a bit. We had previously scheduled an appointment for today at 11:30, a weekend appointment needs to be booked well in advance. We usually receive a call to confirm a day or two before the appointment, not this time. Thinking that was odd, I called them this morning to confirm our appointment and the girl couldn't find is in the books. She asked to call me back while she looked into the matter more, which she did a short time later. I was told that she could see my name in the books but it had been erased, my appointment had been canceled. No details as to who canceled this appointment could be given (we have NEVER canceled ANY appointment with this business prior to today). Her remedy was to schedule us again, two weeks from now. Our whole morning/early afternoon was already all scheduled for our appointment. Today was the last straw for us, you lost customers today. read more

Been going here for 2 years and won't ever go back. I have a small pure bred dog who is extremely trusting and sweet. The groomer's asst. called that my dog was ready so I went to pick her up. Upon entering the establishment the groomer informed me that my little dog got a "little" nick on her ear 'just now' and that it wasn't bad. She put a band aid on it. I trusted this woman, my 1st mistake. After I got home, I looked at the picture that they took of her before I came & my little baby was sporting a band aid in this pic. This was the 1st lie, that 'nick' was done way before I got there. I left the band aid on for a few hours and when I removed it I discovered that, that 'nick' was in fact a gouge, a large piece of her ear was missing! I called my vet and they said they could try & stitch it but they would have to remove more of the ear. I will not subject my pet to more pain, nor will I ever take her back to this place. And they had the nerve to charge me for maiming my dog! This should never have happened, I don't recommend this place, unless you want your pet disfigured. read more

I've been getting my dogs groomed here for the past couple months and I recently moved to royal oak and decided I needed to bring them back. They are great and give you great customer service. They let the dogs play with all the others instead of crating them and they put seasonal bows/bandanas on them. They send you home with pictures and treats and my dogs smell like vanilla! Their prices are fantastic and they do the best job. They connect with their customers on Facebook and upload pics/videos of your dogs. I don't have a single complaint. I took my Scottie here for the first time today. It was a wonderful experience. I called last week to get some info and the gentleman who took the call was extremely helpful and polite. I was very impressed so I decided to take her in. Maddie did a wonderful job grooming her. When I picked her up, she was very calm (never happens when picking her up from her 'spa' day). I love the fact that they do not have cages and they are very reasonable priced. You get the cutest picture of your pet along with a report card on how they did. Very unsanitary conditions. 24 hours after being groomed my YorkiePom was very ill and I was told she had a bad bacterial infection normally contracted through feces. My dog is an indoor dog and does not eat poop. I then called the business inquiring to schedule an appointment for a dog who had no shots and I was told it would be fine to be groomed without shots. Which proves that they accept dogs with no shots and allow them to run freely. They muzzled my dog and she doesn't even bite her throat was sore. And they were giving her milkbone dog biscuits and my dog has a very sensitive stomach and is on a strict diet. They never mentioned about using a muzzle and never asked if my dog had any food sensitivities. I brought in my on Shampoo because of the severity of my dogs allergies and it was never used my dog came home stinking like cheap perfume and whatever they used triggered all her allergies. I love my dog with all my heart and that is why I will never return to this business and they do not deserve one star. And the day after I write review I look to see if Kuts n Kisses had responded to my review but there was no response. 9 negative reviews and 6 positive please keep that in mind. read more

This is a free roaming groomer. This means all pets roam the grooming area together. This seemed fun and relaxing for my pets at first. I brought my pets vaccination records and they didn't even look at them. Then within a week my Bichon needed a vet appt to find out she had a respiratory infection and double ear infection. $243 later (not including the grooming fee) and she is finally better. I use to love this place until their work starting getting shady. I use to take my beautiful pocket pitbull there for nail clippings as well as daycare. My cockapoo went there for his grooms for many years both my dogs were serviced by Andrea. At first I loved her and I loved that facility was cage free. However one day when I dropped Darla (pocketpit) there for daycare and a nail clipping I decided to come get her early and they were cutting her nails and she was really having a hard time. Instead of comforting her the lady who cut her nails was scolding her and being abrasive with her needless to say that was the last times he went there. My mother still took Peppie (cockapoo) there for his grooms, then things starting happening. The first incident was Andrea had cut several of his nails so short that they bled as well you could tell Peppie was upset about them as he constantly licked them for a few days. The next groom she cut his butt horribly that she had to put glue in order to stop the bleeding. The next time his tongue was cut and now he has a minor split that is healing slowly. On top of all the incidents his grooms were getting horrible, the last time I had to find another groomer who had to re-groom him because his cut was horrible. Andrea has severely downgraded her grooms. My dogs are my family and I would never put them in a situation where they were going to get hurt, kits and kisses has stopped caring about the animals and caring more about getting your dog in and out. To make matters worst when in called to cancel all of Peppie's auto grooms I never received a call to apologize. read more
