His dorm is lovely (much nicer than my other son's dorm was at another school), his friends are fantastic, and he is thrilled to participate in activities. The campus has a genuine community feel. Academically, the professors care about students and make connections with them. The small class sizes and accessible faculty have meant that he has been offered opportunities that would not have been available to him at a larger schools. We feel confident that he is developing strong critical thinking, research, and communication skills that will prepare him for graduate school, which is his current trajectory. We are thrilled with the choir program (if your kid sings, join their choir!), which has been both enriching for him. We are also excited about the study abroad program he has applied to, as it reflects the school's commitment to global learning and academic exploration. If there is one area for continued growth, it would be investing in additional faculty and modest campus expansion, as the school's strong programs and close-knit environment would benefit from slightly increased capacity. Overall, this has been an excellent choice!

The oven and fridge in the common room had spilled food in them and the counters were not wiped down...and this was on day 1! I expect that kind of thing mid-semester, but this seemed a bit much on the first day. Our son went to the gym and he said all the equipment looked like it needed a good cleaning as well. The people have been very nice so far and I have been pleased with the interactions he's had with administration, but I was disappointed on the cleanliness.

I was forced to pick a random suite with people I don't even know let alone trust around my medication. As an animated arts major who loves to do fine arts in their free time, I could use a little more space AND QUIET to focus on my work since animations take a hell of o long time to finish especially if you want them to be good. Emailed housing, they gave me a bs answer and got nowhere. Now I have to search the campus for wherever the housing office is just to speak to them in person since email goes nowhere. ------ For some extra complaints: Don't trust the rice unless you like it as chewy as sour patch kids. The chicken has so much fat pieces and all that left on it when cut that it's practically all your eating. Sausage with a nice helping of ground up bones left in. The second floor of the south dining hall doesn't even have clean lettuce of any kind, I tried some with my taco and it tasted rubbery and dirty (but apparently downstairs they actually wash the lettuce). According to some people I've talked to, old main is full of black mold and asbestos and lytle hall has high radiation. At least from my experience, the dorms aren't safe from black mold finding a nice home all over your shower. They seem to lie a bit on the tours and I honestly don't like this school as much as I used to. Maybe I should've gone to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) or RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) since those schools are actually respectable.

I graduated in 2016 and have returned for a few wedding ceremonies. I've written extensively about…read morewhether Lehigh is a good deal and what college life here was like, so this review is more about the food and the setting. This is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States of America. For weddings, the chapel is breathtaking and there are dozens of spots on campus at which a group could take nice pictures. While the hillside setting is the envy of hundreds of colleges, it's been said that some of the freshman residence halls are at the highest elevation east of the Mississippi River. Daily journeys involve awkward undulating paths and hundreds of stairs (none with consistent spacing), and "seeing campus" is not a feasible quest for a huge portion for the median out-of-shape American. Regarding the food, dining on campus was controlled by Sodexo, the company that provides food to prisons. Pricing was extortionate and quality was awful. I recall a constant rotation of "breakfast for dinner" where the morning's food was re-heated for dinner, and a mad rush for basic foods like pizza when the main protein offering would be disgusting salisbury steak. I believe this terrible marriage began in 2010 or so, as when I started at Lehigh in 2012, older students reminisced on a slightly-better food scene that included an on-campus Chik-fil-A. There was an elevated tier of (Sodexo branded) dining options in the building where the Chik-fil-A used to be, which all charged a premium in "meal swipes" (of which students maybe received 250 per semester) and prepared passable ready-made dishes formed out of frozen, preservative-laden ingredients. You would be hard pressed to find an alumnus whose underclassman experience wasn't affected by how bad the food was. I was lucky to meet people at Lehigh who were similar to me in terms of their outspokenness, and one guy submitted a detailed complaint and suggestion sheet to Sodexo "management." They sat down with him and thanked him and then proceeded to do nothing. The extra meal budget I had to beg my parents for to eat mid campus-edge food (The Goose and Johnny's Bagels) was probably $400/mo, which really hurt back then. The school has some things going for it, just not the food.

Cool campus. Lots of neat buildings. Neatly tucked campus. Seems very safe. Small town. Enjoyed our…read morevisit.

She has lived in an environment not conducive to learning. She has been bullied by her suite mates for months with nothing being done. She has gone to countless ra's. Rich roommate whose daddy was paying-NONE of the rules or policies applied to her. NONE. My daughter was told by the RA to "suck it up". The 3 times I emailed the president, he NEVER responded. Not even an auto reply. I wish I could put everything down here to tell you how God-awful our experience was with them, but, not enough space. So don't feel obligated to sign any paperwork saying you acknowledge the rules & policies. The Roommate Agreement is also crap. So go ahead and light up vapes & joints, have alcohol in your room, blast your tv & music, have guests overnight 3-4 nights, every week, party, skip class, use your roommates stuff, don't forget to damage your roommate's stuff and don't own up to it or replace it, and your MU experience should be a pretty good one, Do not recommend this place if you are intelligent, respectful, mature, & want to get an education. Oh-a heads up: if you un-enroll or transfer to another university, GET AS MUCH AS YOU CAN OUT OF YOUR DORM FIRST. They lock you out of your dorm immediately as soon as you un-enroll, and you can only get back in during certain days/time frames, that are very short. They do not inform you of this. It's happened to other people we know, too.
