First, the basics: students are required to buy a meal plan and pay over $11,000 a year for housing. That's comparable to renting a decent apartment in Allentown -- except at Cedar Crest, you don't even get working AC. Recently, the AC in my building (Curtis Hall) was turned off overnight without any notice. I take SSRIs and overheat easily, and I live with a registered ESA. No one warned us, no one checked in, and there were zero accommodations made. Just silence. And it doesn't stop there. The summer dining situation is bare-bones at best, with limited food availability and barely any hours. Even though we're paying for a meal plan, it often feels like an afterthought. The shared spaces? Also neglected. Bathrooms and kitchens are never deep cleaned. The cleaning staff occasionally vacuums but often just hangs out in the lounge talking. As residents, we're expected to keep everything in order while nothing is actually maintained. It's frustrating and honestly unsanitary at times. This isn't my first time living in campus housing, but it's the most disappointing by far. For the price we pay, the expectations we're held to, and the fact that this is a doctoral-level program, you'd think students would be treated with professionalism and basic respect. Instead, it's been a pattern of poor communication, ignored maintenance, and a total lack of regard for student well-being. If you're considering Cedar Crest for graduate school -- especially if you're living on campus -- think carefully. You'll be paying premium prices for minimal support.

The dispatch Shal..... is constantly late and rewarded for it, Officer Steve caught sleeping while on duty, probably dreaming Not to get caught and the assistant, a clumsy individual with NO police/ security skills, directing a NON safe fire range. The core of the events are at Fairmount Feast kept "safe" because of the high rent paid. Definitely I wouldn`t sand my dog there. Enjoy the non safe environment.

The second time I should have only owed $235 for withdrawing from one class but they charged me for 2. I have emails showing that I only had one class that I withdrew from. It's a consistent thing and they don't have their act together. Their classes are not built for working students like they claim. Go somewhere with experience like Drexel, Lehigh or Moravian.

This is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States of America. For weddings, the chapel is breathtaking and there are dozens of spots on campus at which a group could take nice pictures. While the hillside setting is the envy of hundreds of colleges, it's been said that some of the freshman residence halls are at the highest elevation east of the Mississippi River. Daily journeys involve awkward undulating paths and hundreds of stairs (none with consistent spacing), and "seeing campus" is not a feasible quest for a huge portion for the median out-of-shape American. Regarding the food, dining on campus was controlled by Sodexo, the company that provides food to prisons. Pricing was extortionate and quality was awful. I recall a constant rotation of "breakfast for dinner" where the morning's food was re-heated for dinner, and a mad rush for basic foods like pizza when the main protein offering would be disgusting salisbury steak. I believe this terrible marriage began in 2010 or so, as when I started at Lehigh in 2012, older students reminisced on a slightly-better food scene that included an on-campus Chik-fil-A. There was an elevated tier of (Sodexo branded) dining options in the building where the Chik-fil-A used to be, which all charged a premium in "meal swipes" (of which students maybe received 250 per semester) and prepared passable ready-made dishes formed out of frozen, preservative-laden ingredients. You would be hard pressed to find an alumnus whose underclassman experience wasn't affected by how bad the food was. I was lucky to meet people at Lehigh who were similar to me in terms of their outspokenness, and one guy submitted a detailed complaint and suggestion sheet to Sodexo "management." They sat down with him and thanked him and then proceeded to do nothing. The extra meal budget I had to beg my parents for to eat mid campus-edge food (The Goose and Johnny's Bagels) was probably $400/mo, which really hurt back then. The school has some things going for it, just not the food.

The certification isn't worth anything because of the "pay and you get papers" reputation of the place. When I went we had people coming in without any of the work done, openly cheating during testing, eating their lunches in the classrooms. Even one teacher who spent most of the time talking about getting a boob job. I spent lots of money to be put in a class full of racist people that didn't care what happened to their Pell grant just to get sub par training that was mostly outdated or unneeded once I went out to the field. Within 6 months of landing my job I had to retake most of my classes at "a real training program" as my boss said. Looks like it's still the same thing years later.
