They said they could get someone out next day and there would either be a non-refundable travel fee of $75, plus the cost of repair, or I could sign up for a "membership" for $100 to waive the travel fee, get a 10% discount on services, and also get priority services. I opted for the membership and paid that fee over the phone. The technician arrived the next day during the agreed time window and inspected our washer to determine the part needed and provide a quote. I had to tell him about the 10% discount, after which he adjusted the quote. He said he'd get the part in a day or two and would give me a call. After 2 days, I had to call them the next company, who had to leave a message for the manager, to try to get a hold of the technician. I tried calling back the next day, same deal. Finally a week after he first came out, someone called to let me know the part was ready and to schedule. A different technician came out, bringing his 13 year old son to translate. The part plus labor came to $318 (with discount) on top of the $100 "membership." Then I got an email alerting me to the fact that the $100 membership was a *monthly* fee and I would be charged again the following month. I promptly canceled and will not use this business again.

The actual appraiser only takes calls for rough 2-3 hours out of the day. However, they will make time for you and give attention if you write a bad review. Then and only then will the appraiser reach out to you and give you the time you deserve as a basic human being. My appraiser absolutely lacked attention to detail which I identify as laziness. He missed obvious items in my home such as HVAC vents going into rooms. Because he missed this the square footage was not used. 341 square feet was dismissed as a result of his laziness. He did not includ updated HVAC systems or appliances. Nor did he initially value the proximaty to downtown compared to the comps used. His assessment was less than the appraisal done 3 years early. Even with my specific property taxes going up twice by Fauquier County in 2 years and nearly 100k dollars in upgrades. I can't emphasize to our community enough the lazy work these people do. The appraisal had to be redone and he once again left out square footage of the home. This caused a two week delay in getting my home refinanced. Time I didn't have which pushed our renovations back. Additionally I had to give him comps in the area since he used homes with lots half the size of mine. He also used comps with less square footage. As a veteran I warn all companies and individials to go somewhere else for their appraisal needs. If you are on a tight time line also go somewhere else. They have no sense of urgency. It was only after I stated I was writing negative feedback that the appraiser reached out directly. It's pathetic we couldn't start talking to them directly. They don't value your time or the multiple hundreds of dollars you spend for their 1 hour of work. Mortgage companies also be warned. Go somewhere else for your clients. I have also written a formal letter to the Veterans Administration.
