We came across this gas station and not only that. We were able to find some hot chicken and thee best potato wedges ever. I believe Chester's Chicken is a big deal in Trona with the small towns residents and travelers. The few folks working there were so cheerful. I just wish we asked a few more questions from the locals. It's always a plus. We filled up on gas , sat and ate in our vechile not only that we went back in for some honey buttered biscuits. I devoured those on the road to furnace creek city. On the return trip back to Los Angeles as I cannot check in twice. We filled up on gas, restroom and bought a few souvenirs.

Gas is only low grade 87 but if you're in a pickle it'll do. Been here a few times by car, motorcycle, and with the jeep trail riding. It's an oasis! Don't complain about the prices; you're 1.5 hours either way to civilization so be grateful. It's right next to a market/gas station with clean bathrooms (that have sinks!), and a little inn, so it's actually a great little pit stop. They have a billboard with park info, and the newsletter for Death Valley so this spot served my needs perfectly. Even the wifi signal was pretty good - I attended my meeting no problem from their large parking lot right in front of the place, and had 360 views of the stunning scenery. So glad this station was here!

Apparently the owner hasn't been able to keep up with the place due to his age and health condition and has barely held on to the property in this economy hence the donation requests and cash only policy. Unfortunately the property will not be around for long and will be taken down and replaced by a Pilot Travel center. I encourage you to make stops here while you can & support this business. The man who attended us was pleasant and kind enough to share the history of this place. Restrooms were clean and functional and your basic gas station needs can be met here.
