Dr. Lipton is a great gynecologist hands down! I've been going to him for 8 years and have never had any complaints.

I wish I never stepped foot into this practice. I chose them for my pregnancy care and it was a…read moreterrible decision. My first annual visit was so pleasant I was excited to receive care here but once I became pregnant the problems started to arise. I did not receive a pregnancy packet of information for a healthy pregnancy or the REQUIRED discussion with their nurse until my 20 week appointment. I was asked if my morning sickness continuing into 20 weeks was a "me problem" I did not receive information meant to be distributed at 28 weeks, until 32 weeks Their website was 10 years outdated and had incorrect information about birth practices at Phelps hospital, when I found this out I tried to contact them to get answers and was pacified being told they would "get to the bottom of this and make sure to get you answers" instead I was scheduled with a new midwife who when I asked about this, I was told she had no idea and didn't know any of the hospital practices. It then took additional weeks for them to not correct their website, but completely remove it. When I continued to bring up my concerns over lack of information on hospital policy I was told I should look into home birth options (it was too late in my pregnancy to find a home birth midwife who was accepting new clients with my due date). I never ended up meeting all the midwives before my delivery I went to the hospital for prodromal labour and was told I should stay since "they were going to induce me tomorrow anyway" but I was never informed of this previously. I opted to leave and was informed by a nurse I needed to sign an AMA that I was choosing to leave. I asked the midwife on call if this was true and she said she did not know the hospital policy. I was constantly being hounded to schedule an induction despite multiple refusals and a MFM doctor telling me my placenta looked healthy and he had no concerns about me waiting until 41+4 to induce. When I did go into labour (not induced) I was terrified to find out that the midwife who I felt completely uncomfortable with due to multiple negative appointments was on call. I told myself I just had to wait 12 hours and a new midwife would be on- nope! Kathy Herron was on call for 24 hours and made my labour so uncomfortable. She was rude, hostile and honestly traumatizing. She laughed at me while I tried to work through labour pain and was having a difficult time. She continually asked me to break my waters which I constantly refused then they "just broke in her hands". I fully believe she broke my water without my consent even though I made it clear that was NOT what I wanted. When it was time to push, I told her I needed a moment to prepare myself mentally and she said "most women would be happy right now". She wanted me to give birth how she wanted and when she wanted. I wish I could give my experience 0 stars and am genuinely afraid for other women to have this same experience.

I felt at ease and prepared for my delivery . This is my third baby. I've delivered with both an OB and another Midwife practice. This has been my best experience, not to mention my best recovery, definitely because of how my delivery went. It was not easy to find a midwife practice in westChester but I'm glad I landed here and found a practice that aligned with my vision. From wait time, insurance, prenatal and post natal visits, I could not ask for more.

This was after being on hold for about 15 min, which is normal for this place. The facility itself is very clean and comfortable, but the staff and process is an atrocity. I think we can all agree It's not exactly fun to see a gyn. These people make me more ok to die before making another appointment. My dad was an ENT surgeon, I was always around hospitals and I know there is certainly a considerate way to manage patients. Unless u love being treated like crap do not go to this place. Horrendous.

I was told there was 1 person before me and she wasn't sure how long everything would take. I waited another 45 mins and was finally taken for vitals. While in the room the staff did my weight and blood pressure while asking questions that were already answered on the form. I answered them anyway. She then began taking out the supplies to draw blood. The single glove was the last thing to be taken out. She wrote on the vials and urine cup, needles, alcohol pads, etc all without putting on the single glove. She flicked her hair with her bare hands then took the alcohol pad out and laid it to the side. Sprayed the tie with hand sanitizer spray again in her bare hands. I told her to start again but this time with gloves on both hands. She got up and left. Thr doctor came in and asked what was the problem. I told him what occurred. I did not see how this had to do with me but again I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking she's just making small talk.To clear things up this was my first time visiting her. She started to take my medical history however she started listing things so fast I could barely understand her nor did she give me a chance to answer. What really started to get me mad was when she asked me if I had ever had a certain vaccine before but it was said in all medical terms which i didn't understand so I proceeded to ask what that vaccine is for. (Vaccine=Human papillomavirus vaccine) She responded by repeating the name of the vaccine which again i didn't understand. I just stared at her because I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND. When i didn't respond she repeated it again for the third time. I said I'm sorry i don't know what that vaccine is for. Then she lets out a big sigh and says to me "Well if you don't know what it is then you probably haven't gotten it" (which yes makes sense) HOWEVER the way she said it to me was so rude and degrading. Thinking about the vaccines I HAVE gotten I remembered that when i was younger i did get a set of vaccines to prevent certain types of cancers so on a whim i told her about them, which she reacted by looking at me rolling her eyes and saying "Well that is what Human papillomavirus vaccine is" KAY?! I am not a doctor and even when i asked her to explain it to me she did not. Next she proceeded to ask me if i was on any medication, I told her that i was on birth control due to PCOS (affects my hormones), she proceeded to turn her head and ask me if i was sure i had PCOS. Now for those of you who do not know in order for this to be determined you must see an endocronologist, which i have FOR TWO YEARS. I responded saying yes I'm sure. Which then she asks who is my endocrinologist which i had to explain that mine was actually moving out of state so i would be seeing a different one in two weeks. She just stared at me and asked well what helped you guys determine you had PCOS, (again A LOT of tests have to be run for this). I explained that i have had acne since i was 10 and when nothing was working to cure it my dermatologist referred me to an endocronologist to assure my hormone levels are okay, which we found they are not (aka PCOS was found to be the culprit). Now i might add that my acne has not disappeared but it has gotten ALOT better compared to 2 years ago. So then she says "Well your acne is still ongoing so maybe you might not have PCOS. TO ADD TO ALL THIS MY ACTUAL REASON FOR BEING THERE IS SO THAT SHE CAN CHECK MY LADY PARTS NOT RE-DIAGNOSE ME ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MATTER. I just stared at her and then she asked me if i had to use the bathroom (Since i knew i was going to this appointment i literally used the bathroom before going into the exam room) When i told her that she looked at me and says "Mmmmm well maybe you should reuse it just in case." Again i was shocked but whatever anything to get me away from this women before i reacted in a really bad way." Went to the bathroom," and came back to the exam room and she left me waiting for 20 minutes, TWENTY. when she came back in she did the examination. While doing so she decided it was a good time to give me a detailed explanation about what PCOS is and related info. She talked to me like i was stupid and i did not even look at her or respond. Again ive known about my PCOS for TWO YEARS and i know EVERYTHING about it. Not only has it been explained to me by my endocrinologist SEVERAL TIMES but i have also done my own research. Once her little rant was over and the exam. She told me everything looked okay and i was all set (THANK GOD). But of course she was not done being obnoxious, she then proceeded to say "Im going to print out your exam info as well as (get ready for this) A LIST OF NUTRITIONISTS AND EXERCISE FACILITIES FOR YOU." Now yes, i am a little overweight and i do need to lose weight, but was this the way to approach me about it? This is how you treat a patient? In my head i thought it must be a joke. I said "Excuse me?" and she turned around SURPRISED and goes "well you are overweight so I'm trying to be helpful." So now she tries to turn it around on me. I go "Yes, i am very aware and I do not need your help at all." She looked shocked like i just cursed at her or insulted her. I closed the door, changed and left. I HAVE NEVER been treated in such a way by any medical professional EVER IN MY LIFE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE. I will not be going back. By the way she printed out the recap of the appointment and included packets about changing my eating habits, ways to lose weight, what PCOS is, and obesity.

Despite having an issue with this office (front desk) in the past, I still continued to go there for my yearly appointments. I made an appointment for June 9th at 2:30pm with NP Jessica Abad (Mt Vernon location). I was on my way to the office and realized I would be running 5 mins late, so I decided to give them a call & let them know (around 2:10pm). As I was driving to the office I made the phone call and nobody picked up. A voice recorded message came on & the phone continued to ring out. I eventually hung up as nobody was answering the phone line ... Anywho, I arrived at the office at 2:35pm (on the dot). There were no patients in the waiting area. The office was empty besides the 2 receptionists sitting behind the front desk. Anyways, I gave them my name (Shannel P) and I was told unfortunately I cant be seen because I'm 5 minutes late to my appointment & Jessica Abad NP leaves at 3pm on the dot.... I asked if an exception could be made since I already completed the pre screening forms online and + I'm a returning patient... I was told No due to me being the last appointment for the day. The receptionist then stated she always tells patients to not book the last appointment for the day because there is no late grace period for the last patient. Um ok.. if I called the office & nobody answered the phone line... & If I booked the appointment via online (which it doesn't inform you about last appointment bookings nor is that written anywhere in the pre screening forms) then how was I supposed to know that 2:30pm is the last appointment for the day and that there is no grace period?? This made me very infuriated. When you guys saw it was 2:30pm and I still did not arrive, you still chose to not even call me over the phone & communicate the "no grace period policy" for being the last patient. You rather wait until I arrive at the office for that to be communicated to me. Nobody decided to give me a call & inform me that there is no grace period for being late if you're the last patient & nobody decided to answer the phone line when I called the office. You guys lack basic customer service skills & unfortunately I will have to make the sad decision to switch GYN's. Made me waste my time driving 40 mins. Very upsetting experience. . just for being 5 minutes late.
