You're going to get trapped in a web with LA TAN. Please read this entire review!!! You need to see the crap they do on the regular basis and stick there head in the sand. #1) They are not going to tell you that you're in a 90 contract with them and if you want to stop tanning you HAVE to PAY to stop your membership!!! #2) Then the prices GO without even telling you!!!! I walked in and the prices just went up and my bill went up and I said something and they said yes just every year or few months... ??! what? #3) Then I asked to freeze my account after the holidays because of obvious reasons. I had to wait for the calendar period so it got pushed to the following month to Feb 15. When I wanted to freeze in January. The front desk girl said it was done and frozen. Well Feb 15 rolls around and I have NOT tanned to restart my membership- yet I am charged 70$ and when I contact the store she can't help me. I have to send an email. And Wait.... Long story short today is March 21st and I still do not have my refund. I was not going to leave a bad review because I care about reviews in my industry as well. But there was ample amount of time and opportunity to fix this and even offer some sort of solution. Maybe free month tanning or lotions? Nothing. La Tan is the worse place to tan. Also if you want any color do not tan in any bed under level 4 it's a waste of money and time. I am half Indian and Italian and didn't get any color. They want you to PAY for minimum beds. I now tan at my gym for 35$ a month and work out and my tan is beautiful... go figure. March 16th she said they mailed a check out ... 2 months later for a charge I wasn't suppose to have. Fees they don't tell you about. Then they charge to unfreeze your account. They charge you while your account is frozen. It is the worst tanning company ever. RUN read more

I've been a customer of LA Tan since 2018, when I was still living in Chicago, and have never experienced any of the issues here in Largo some of the less stellar reviews mention. On the contrary, each of the young women I've dealt with there have been professional, courteous, and genuinely attentive. Is it silly to go to a tanning salon in Florida? Perhaps, but given my schedule, it works perfectly, and the staff in Largo continually justify the monthly expense. I could not be happier. read more

Worst experience ever. Bought a package of 3 spray tans and apparently they expire after a year- something I was never told or I wouldn't have purchased them to begin with. The manager is condescending and rude. I can't honestly believe how poorly I was just treated. Will never return. read more

This place is fabulous! I've been going here for about 7 years, and I must say this is the best group of girls this far! They are all very knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly, so in response to Tara F... you say you own a franchise, so you should know how to conduct YOURSELF while out in public. Before bashing Shae you need to ask yourself what made her feel the need to as or tell you to leave, these girls don't make the rules, set the prices or own the place and should NEVER have to defend themselves against people who conduct themselves the way you did. After four years I've finally had enough. I do not give bad reviews though this one is way overdue. The last three summers I put my membership on freeze. When I went in the beginning of Sept I was charged fees that were unacceptable. For example my credit card was hacked. No calls no emails though I was charged a fee for 'missing a payment of 3.09' . Then other fees that no one had any idea why. My account this month is over 50.00. I have a package that is 39.99. Go figure. Also, stand up beds have been put for weeks possibly months, bulbs are always out in the lay down beds. Since I can not go back and change my typos I'll retype that was lay down bed lights are always out. Doors to lock are a joke! They close for fixing up the place without any notice like an email, they closed a couple of weeks ago because it was too hot inside. Ok??? On top of all this Patrons are to bring their own towels. Though I do. I've been in business over 30 years and this is not acceptable. Try calling them! read more

The one, and only reason I did not give the salon a five star review is because of one of their young female employees, and her extremely poor attitude. I've been going here for several months now and every single time she's behind the counter her customer service couldn't be worse! However, all the other employees are extremely pleasant to work with, and very helpful in answering any and all questions I've had! I've gone 5 or 6 times and have very little color, either their bulbs are very old or very poor quality. Purchased a monthly plan but canceling today which stinks because it's really convenient to my home. Not worth it and the help is not welcoming or kind. They seem more put off to help than helpful. I hope the owner reads these reviews, he or she needs to know how unfriendly the help is. I did like their spray tan, it's just the beds that aren't worth paying anything for. I really do love this place and I've tried a couple different tanning salons and this is the one I always come back to. The staff is always nice when I walk in. More recently (I wish I knew her name) but the girl upfront with the red hair has been super friendly and helpful with regards to tanning lotions and any questions you have. I am signed up with their text messages so they always text you when running sales or promotions. Which is pretty often. Good deals too. One downside is the #4 bed, which I usually use, is cracked and all the buttons are broken. Also, all the rooms I've been in the radios are broken. I hope they fix these issues soon, I know they said they were working on it. Once fixed I would give them 5 stars. read more

I wish I could give negative starts. My spray tan was so messed up and I was told they would comp my next one because of it. They never told me I had a time limit and I had to wait till I got all the bronzer off HALF my body and I have work so it was 2 weeks till I tried coming back and they told me they can't help me because I waited too long. The underage looking girl behind the counter was EXTREMELY rude. She shouldn't be in customer service at all. I hope she gets fired along with the girl that didn't put my comp in the system as you should when you promise someone something. I'm a mother and I work a full time job she told me to come back tomorrow to speak with her manager. No sorry I have real responsibilities and can't just go to a tanning salon whenever I feel like it. The beds get the job done (when the buttons are working) but they are not cleaned well. Top acrylic is always dirty. They can't seem to keep employees. The worst is the snarky and unfriendly behavior of most of the employees there. Have frequently overheard current and past employees being talked about. I was here a week or so ago and i walked out. I had to sign up for a package. The cashier told me she was going to take everyone ahead of me. She was rude and not friendly. Didnt smile or say hi. I stood there for 15 minutes waiting to be helped. She took people who walked in after me before me. I couldn't believe it. I had left my lotion and keys up at counter from when i was about to be helped so when she decided to take another person ahead of me i grabbed my stuff and began walking out. Unfortunately I am here to post a poor review about this company, their charging and response time to their customers. I had a month left of my "contract" with them before Covid hit in March/April. The company shut down when quarantine happened. Things started to open back up again and I didn't feel comfortable going back into a tanning salon given that I work in a hospital and directly with covid patients. They charged me for the month and basically said sorry because I signed the contract. Oh.. and did I mention the spray tan I lost out on the month of them shutting down, they told me I had to use within that month they reopened. I feel like this decision is completely wrong given the circumstances. I sent emails back and forth for 3 months before the last emailed denied the refund for that last month. I feel at loss for the money they took from me and it's disappointing they're not willing to work with me. read more

Signed up for their email, got one week free on any bed the offer. It's a great intro deal! Level 1- really nice, brand new Level 2- more circular, feels more encased and maybe a bit older Level 3- seemed like level 1 but upgraded, both level 1 and this were by far my favorite Level 4- the only reason I didn't do 5 stars. Definitely needs to be replaced. All the buttons inside the bed are missing, the label on the outside is gone, the finish is chipping off. The fans were blowing hot air and at a low speed that couldn't be changed and then there was the cracked bed. Something about laying on a cracked tanning bed scared me. I lasted 7 minutes before I finally had enough of that. I will continue to enjoy their new updated beds that are amazing, staff is super friendly and place is really clean. Just stay clear of level 4 bed (might even be room 4) yikes!! read more

I only use standup tanning machines, and LA Tans has just one. Sadly this machine looks like it's 20 years old complete with dim, dead bulbs and missing a bulb up top all year now??! No chair in the tiny room to sit and change comfortably. The staff is so sweet, but other than that, this place is dated as hell. Very expensive, paid for a month and can only tan at early in the morning three days a week but there were no better options. I've been sitting here since 9a.m. and no employee has shown up to open the doors. It's Monday morning, 10:18a.m., the doors, the internet and your Facebook says your hours are 9a.m. until 9p.m. Monday through Friday. I don't live right across the street so I sat here waiting hoping someone would be here soon. I've watched nine patrons walk up to tan so far and had to turn away. NOOOO! Don't go there. I just went to sign up for monthly tanning. Signs everywhere with the pricing. .. $59.99 plus tax for all access. Ok sounds reasonable. When the girl rang me up it came to $73 plus! WHY???? Turns out that beginning January 1 the price increased to $69.99 per month and despite the fact that today is January 3rd and old prices are still displayed they would not honor it do off to the next tanning salon I go. The "manager" at the Tyrone location named Dana was one of the most disgusting and unprofessional people I have ever come in with! The spray tan machines are always broken and unattended to. The service was horrible waited a half hour tan while the young shitty bitch argued with 2 other women who's beds wouldn't work. Then I finally get to tan and the bed is filthy, and the old tanning bed buttons to control fans, etc don't even work. Horrible equipment and customer service. Went t la tan 2weeks ago for just a month. This place is the biggest dump I have ever seen. The beds are dirty and most of the beds have bulbs out. They put me into a bed the other day and 6 bulbs were burnt out. When I told the manager about it she could have cared less. Tried to get some of my money back but they refused. The lotions are way over priced. U can go to jet .Com and get the same ones for half the price. Tried t call corporate and pretty much got the run around. Do your self a favor and don't go there.
