We are extremely disappointed with this company's workmanship and lack of professionalism. In late…read moresummer of 2022, a two-person crew was sent by Jim Brown to install Rosetta steps and a paver landing at our front entry stairs. However, the steps were installed with an unintended curve and significant gaps between the steps and the ground where it was not backfilled. Additionally, the paver landing is unlevel and not centered to the entry stairs. Basically it looks like a DIY job. We contacted Jim, who took over a month to come out to assess the situation. He quickly acknowledged the job needed to be redone and promised it'd be fixed by end of season. However, this did not happen but we remained patient, assuming time constraints before winter caused the delay. In March of this year we reached out to Jim again and a week later he responded, saying he hadn't forgotten and was working on a schedule and would soon let us know when he'd fit us in. As of July 2, 2023 he has neither shown up nor provided a timeline for the repairs. Furthermore, he has stopped responding to our messages altogether. Because of this, we have been unable to proceed with a permanent railing installation and landscaping while we work to figure out a solution without incurring additional costs on top of the over $6,000 already spent. Jim has left us no choice but to seek help from The NYS Dept of Consumer Protection and the Federal Trade Commission in order to ensure that his company rights this wrong.

One of their employees unlawfully trespassed on my property with a truck and snow plot attached,…read morepushing snow into our house, damaging our yard and property. When asked to stop and leave the property, the driver reversed the vehicle and gassed forward, plowing more snow up onto our yard and into our house while nearly running me over with the vehicle. Left unanswered voicemails for the company and went to their office to talk to the owner. Sign on the door claims their office is closed until March, 2021. The town and local authorities have been contacted. This company was NOT contracted to be on our property nor will they ever be referred to.

Blandings was hired for a residential electrical job. Clean up the existing electric which still…read morehad fuses, upgrade the system, install new outlets and light receptacles. They never asked me what color outlets I wanted, and proceeded to replace them, and then they put the old cover plates back on. Some outlets were white some cream, some covers were brown and over 50 years old. You will see from the photos, after Blandings "was done" and requesting payment. However first the inspector came in and checked off all the things they were supposed to do and didn't. Blandings had to come back and correct everything. Not only did they not do much of the work, they overcharges for what they did do. 2 guys, $42.50 an hour for a total of 40 hours to change 24 outlets, 4 motion flood lights and 2 bathroom fixtures. See photo of portion of bill. I could have done this myself in less than 8 hours with help from YouTube. This was a grant project, and I feel confident in saying they took advantage of that fact.

Called, set up an appointment and the service repairman came . His name was Dean. He called before he was to arrive, he knew exactly how to fix the issue. He gave me a hint on removing the filter. Told me to make rabbit ears on the filter with duck tape. That way I can pull the filter out. I told him I was disappointed the installers did not show me how to remove the filter. After all, I really was not thrilled that I had to have a service call. The best part of this review is that there wasn't any charge, he gave me a pound of hummingbird coffee , a fabulous tip on removing the filter and we shook hands. Very thankful for the rabbit ear tip, everyone should learn this! Very pleased with Hummingbird, the service repairman Dean and my pound of coffee. But the best part... no charge. They…read moretried to scare me by saying that carbon monoxide leaking from my old furnace and need to replace right away. They shut off the furnace in the middle of winter and refused to turn it back on, saying that you don't want to see a big headline on the local newspaper. Of course, anything burning will emit CO and I have CO monitors nearby. Another company simply did maintenance on the furnace and said the furnace still works great.
