The Potter HVAC appeal is 'professional", but they are scamming customers/deceiving customers to accept their proposal and financing as offering misleading, non existing terms of 0 % financing through Wellsfargo. Once the proposal is accepted, they email a link with no other terms than 29% Carrier Card, and the customer is misled to look into the application for other terms, and this is false. The customer is finishing with a hard inquiry on his/her credit, lowering his/her credit score, and a Wellsfargo $xx,xxx new credit which definatly increases the DTI ratio. In other words, Potter HVAV is messing the credit of good people.... Be aware of it. read more

Thieves and scammers! Charged us $690 for 46 minutes of work plus materials ($75.). When I questioned Rick, he said he charged me $340 to go pick up a part. That is known as a scam. Why would they carry ANY parts on the van if they could charge the homeowner an extra hour to go pick it up? So, what should have been a 45-minute job costing about $300, it turned into one BIG scam. 5 yr customer. Annual tuneups of furnace and a/c. Quality service, swift response to all requests. Yesterday experienced furnace quitting on me. Thermostat not responding despite battery change. Called at 8am and had tech in my home by 2. Ryan replaced existing thermostat with one far simpler, and with large lighted font. Proceeded to completely tuneup and clean unit. Even helped me with suggestions on redirecting excessive heat on my second level. Immediately put on booties to keep floor area free of debris, vacuumed everywhere too. I had a problem with my heating. They spoke about the charge included one hour label ahead of time. They spent around half an hour and the bill was charged for one hour and half for label. The problem, however, was not resolved and the house did not have heat after 2 days again. They sent another repair man saying needed a part which was on warrantee and I was not charged for it but for the label. When the heating was repaired installing the new piece, the company charged me a high amount for the part and the label . They did not assume any responsibility for the poor job of the first time and charged me two times, a total of a high amount using my credit card registered by them ahead of time. read more

I've lost track of how many times I've called this company/these companies for help in either HVAC or plumbing situations -- emergencies, remodeling, standard maintenance. My line in recommending them now is simply, "They've kept me warm and dry for years." Suzanne DeFuria, the owner, is scrupulous about being up-to-date with her equipment, the condition of her trucks and installation. She has never hesitated to tell me, when needed, "No, you don't really need that, do this instead." Her workers always have been prompt, efficient and clean (oh, those little footie things!). Highly satisfied! Our AC decided to stop working yesterday and of course on one of the hottest days of summer. Got home last night after 7pm to a warm and toasty house. Received a call back from Tim, the on-call technician, described the problem and made an appointment for morning. He arrived before the scheduled time, looked at the AC unit, fixed and tested it and was done in less than 1/2 hour. Answered all my questions and gave me some tips about air filters. Couldn't have asked for better service. Highly recommend this company, and plan to call them back for furnace maintenance in the fall. read more

Not satisfied with the service we received at my elderly mothers home The plumber was unable to remove the sink for repair, ended up cracking a wall tile, claiming the bathroom sink was "caulked to the wall really well." Left without repair and charged us full price. My complaints to management were dismissed. I subsequently removed the sink within ten minutes without cracking any additional tiles. This company had sent over a plumber with a bad attitude, was unable to determine the exact problem of a leak from a bathtub faucet, and did absolutely no work. He left saying he still had to charge me. I was in no way advised of a service call fee either on the phone with the two women I called and scheduled an appointment for, the first girl never got my service call listed when I called the first time. Now they sent a bill I refused to pay to collections. Not a very reliable organization. read more

Punctual, professional, really know what they are doing, reasonable costs. The dispatcher was great. We called because of a water leak from our kitchen sink. Randy responded to this call the next morning. He quickly identified the source of the leak in the water supply shutoff valves. He replaced them and... no more leak! The wood cabinet began to dry out. Unfortunately, after a couple of dry days we again noticed water in the cabinet below the kitchen sink. The water was not coming from the new shutoffs. We called again. This time Bill came out. He verified that the first repair was fine. Working in tight quarters did not deter him from finding the leak in the stem of the faucet. Not only did he fix this leak, but he took the time to reroute the drain pipes to make the plumbing in the cabinet more accessible. This isn't the first time Bill has helped us with plumbing issues. I know that he will take the time to do a great job. Because of people like Bill, I refer friends and family to Perrone Plumbing. read more

Furnace went out on a Sat morning, tech Don told me it was an electical issue and I needed to call an electrician. After paying $200 for 18 minutes (that's more than $600/hr, people!), he left and I was still without heat. I decided to change out one fuse in the panel and viola! I have heat but still feel like they need to fix their rates, not competitive for suboptimal service. Call someone else. read more

I had countless issues with the work performed by Potter/Perrone. Their quality is sub par and staff is EXTREMELY unprofessional. When I called to talk to a manager regarding my issues, he stated "you are just one of those Hillary Clinton types who have work done and don't expect to pay anything". These people screwed me over. Do not hire!! Their tech left a bleed valve open on a radiator. It leaked for four days while I was out of town. I came back to find paint sloughing off the walls of the room under the leak, original 1918 woodwork warped, ceiling and walls wet and full of mold. I called the guy back from potter and he saw what had happened and said, did I leave that valve open? I'm so sorry. We had a talk about how I hoped he wouldn't lose his job. My contactor and insurance adjuster agreed that the damage was $9500. My insurance covered all buy deductible, thanks travelers! But I'm left 1k out of pocket. My insurance asked theirs to compensate and Potter said no, that we have no evidence it was their fault and that my conversation with the guy was only hearsay. They know what happened and they are in the wrong. All I can do is warn others about them and that a company having insurance doesn't mean they will use it fairly. I can't believe business owners could be so unethical. I still hope the worker did not lose his job. read more

I returned home from work on a Friday night to find my furnace broken down, of course after having had a sizable snowstorm the night before and very frigid temperatures outside. I called Potter Perrone and the on-call technician, Kevin, called me back very promptly and was at my house probably within an hour. He identified the problem as a seized inducer motor. Being late on a Friday night, none of the parts suppliers were open to provide the new motor, although he did make several calls to attempt to locate a part that evening. He assured me that the part would be available in the morning and that he would be back after picking up it up. Saturday morning after picking up the part, my furnace was back up and running again with 15 minutes of arrival. I am very pleased with my overall experience. The technician was polite and got the job done in a very timely manner and at a reasonable rate, especially for an after hours call. read more
