An all around great nail salon. From a quick glance it doesn't look like much but they are currently making renovations. And while larger and more modern salons can draw you in with their attractive looks and high tech equipment; this one delivers better service than most around. The technicians here are genuinely nice to everyone - not just the regulars. This isn't my usual spot but every time I do choose this salon for a manicure or pedicure I always leave completely satisfied. They are very accomodating to walk-ins and I've never had a long wait. They do very thorough work; checking as they go along and making each nail look uniform. I never get that "rushed thru" feeling and know they are doing a complete job. The entire salon treats each customer with warm care, not just the person working on your nails. When I visited today three different employees responded to me - one offered me water, another gave me a massage, and the last brushed oil on my nails while they dried. The tech that did my nails not only put my jacket on for me but pulled my hair out from the back and smiled at me saying to have a good day. I left with a fresh set of nails and in a great mood. Very disaapointed in the service & lack of loyalty to long time customers. You make an appointment and you are still kept waiting & given the run around. There is no respect for a client's time or schedule. There have become rude since under new management a few years ago. I developed a infecrion after having my nails done there and the owner did not accept any liability I had to see a doctor on my own dime & obtain a precription to clear up the infection. I expect some loyalty after more than two decades of being a Faithful customer there. I had been told by many that used to patronize this establishment after their bad experiences who went onto other local nail salons. I went here after work one day hoping to get a new set of acrylics with a french manicure. I have had this done before but was looking for a new place since I have recently moved. They took me right away when I came in and were very kind. I showed them the picture of what I wanted which is attached. They told me they could do it. While the manicurist was very kind, I noticed they did things differently than I did before. Instead of attaching a tip at the of the nail and using a polygel, they glued a fake full nail to my entire nail. This ended up messing up my nail bed completely when I tried to remove them. After she was done, I noticed my nails were see through and the shape was off but I paid and went home to sleep on it. By the time I got home, I could see better in the light that I was unhappy with the work. I called and asked if I could get a refund and they told me to come in the next day. I came in during my lunch break and talked with the manager. He acknowledged my nails as they were and laughed when I asked for a refund. I asked for a refund because I paid $80 for the set. They kept trying to tell me they could fix it, but truthfully I didn't have the time to fix it, nor did I want to, because I wanted to take them off. Due to the fact the nail was attached to my whole nailbed, the nails hurt. They told me they'd give me a credit. This consisted of taking a scrap piece of paper and having me write down my name and number. I appreciate the credit but will not be going back as I didn't like their method and wouldnt want to get another set. If I could give zero stars I would. The owner is very rude. They do not care about customer satisfaction what so ever. My nails broke 4 days after I got them done and the color looks nothing like when I first got them. They also left my nails to soak for an hour and a half. Which is not necessary. I have been going here for years. I love getting pedicures here as they do last a long time, and they do a great job. Recently though, I decided to get a dip powder manicure. My nails had chipped 2 days after getting them done and I went back to have a nail fixed, for free. The next day more started chipping and they eventually looked like a wreck. I thought this manicure would have lasted 3 weeks--as they should, but turns out it lasted 4 days. This means it was not applied correctly. It was a waste of my money, and $40. I have been going here for years and have never walked out disappointed with how my nails looked or upset with how I was treated. It can be very busy on the weekends, but calling ahead is never an issue. It's always clean and I've never gotten a bad manicure. The gel is very afforable ($30) and easily lasts 2 weeks. Went there to get girlfriends nails done and they charged me extra for the nails. Owner was standing behind me and saw amount on my debit card and charged me the exact amount i had. Literally the BEST pedicure I've ever had & I've been on the hunt for the perfect place for a long time. For around $20 (basic pedi) you get a bottle of water & it includes a 10 minute massage! Timed too so you get that entire 10 minutes. They don't rush through it & everyone there is super nice as always. For $10 more you can get a timed 10 minute amazing shoulder & back massage as your toes dry & they give you a punch card to save money once you reach your 10th pedicure you get $10 off of your 11th one. Was in Black Rock doing a little shopping wanted to get my nails done. This salon had the most stars on Yelp so I decided to try it out. So glad I did. They were packed when I walked in but I didn't mind waiting. I waited less than 5 min to get started and they offered me bottled water while I waited. Now I'm not the type of person who goes to relax. I go to the nail salon so my nails will look halfway decent (I have 2 small children and cleaning those messes up destroys your nails). They asked me if I would mind getting my gel manicure while I got my pedicure which for me is a dream come true. The women who did my nails were very thorough and pleasant. I was an L&G regular for about a year, but the manager Ken is really mean! I put up with it because he did a great job with my gel nails and I loved the massages. In the end he was just too rude and insulting, he actually embarrassed me in front of the whole salon. Bad business. I can only imagine how he treats his employees. Since then, I have met other people who have left L&G for the same reason!!! So I know it's not just me. I couldn't believe when I ran into someone else who was really upset by Ken. She put up with it for the exact same reasons as me. AND she is in the beauty industry and owns a hair salon righ near L&G. If Ken was smart he would have coddled her and treated her like gold so she would send all her clients to L&G. I'm really sorry but this review isn't going to be at all positive. My visit started out by walking in and picking out a color and my nail tech literally stood over me and impatiently waited the 30 seconds it took me to make my decision. I sat down and say I want #2 ($35.00) and she says sure. One minute later she says something about the callus remover and since I couldn't really understand, so I say o.k. and she says sure #3 ($45.00). No, I don't want to pay more at a salon I've never been at before and firmly say #2. I don't at all recommend the seaweed mask (#2), it's slimy and wasn't all washed away so I had to hop in the shower after my pedicure to get it all off. The worst part was the 15 minute 'massage.' Honestly, an unwilling and untrained boyfriend could have done better while watching the super bowl. The massage was as light as a feather and offered no relief at all. If I had more guts, I would have got up and left right then and there. After the pedicure finished up, they walk you over to the dryer and start a 30 second back massage and ask if you would like to pay $10 for 10 minutes. Umm, no thank you based on the excuse of a foot massage I just received, I don't even want to consider spending more money here. I paid my bill, left an average tip and went home. After getting out of the shower an hour or two later, my big toe was already chipping ... a waste of $35.00. I won't ever go back and I'm actually surprised about other positive reviews. read more

We're out of town and came here for a child's mani and adult pedi. I really wish I could bottle this place up and take it home to Vegas! The pricing is excellent along with service which is outstanding! I really enjoyed the 10min massage plus a mini massage when my toes were drying. I'm updating my review of this nail salon, based on my last few experiences. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but now I realize that whenever the owner's not around, standards slip. The last time I was there was the final straw for me and I will not be going back. It was busy due to the holidays, but that's no excuse to rush through an expensive powder gel manicure. The woman didn't clean off the previous powder gel all the way on my fingers, didn't clean up my cuticles, dipped over stray cotton ball on my fingers rather than clean it off, and rushed through filing down. The result? My ~$40ish manicure chipped the very next day. When I went to another salon to have it taken off and fixed, they even commented what a bad job had been done. The worst part is, I spoke up during my manicure and was told I was being ridiculous! I have been here a few handful of times for basic gel polish and pedicure and have never had a real problem. So I decided to go for a gel powder change. I thought it would be easy enough. I went in for an appointment that I had set at five and didn't get seated until probably closer to 5:30/5:45, which I was okay with, I understand that things get busy and they can't necessarily control it. So they finally set me down and she starts filing away at my nails before realizing that it's gel powder (which I had told them) at which point she pulls out her metro north car and starts peeling them off with that. The girl next to her and behind her are kind of looking at her and chuckling as she's soaking my right hand with the acetone. Still I'm in the mindset of well things happen, let it go not a huge deal. The owner and my manicurist start going back-and-forth in a language that I can't understand when she immediately stands up another girl replaces her. She's looking at my nails shaking her head the entire time but gets them done and I feel confident with her work. Now not even three days later my gel powder is cracking and chipping off when it should last at least two weeks. I can't explain how disappointed I am for the price that I paid on these now... I went here based on the prices for an acrylic manicure. I asked for acrylic when I was seated. Once the tips were put on, they were ready to go ahead and do a powder dip. I mentioned again that I was interested in the acrylic not the powder (because there is a $10 price difference for the set as well as $10 price difference for a fill each time as well). They then told me that they no longer offer acrylic. Too bad. Would have had a repeat customer. The women who did do my nails did do a very nice job but could sense I was disappointed. It is great especially if you go monday through wednesday because you can get a mani pedi for just $25! They do a very thorough job with the lotion and massage. Very friendly and give nice designs if you ask! They give you free water and offer wine, so nice of them! Loved my nails when i was done but they didn't do a great job cutting my cuticles... wish they did better because i bite my nails and it makes them look smaller when they don't cut my cuticles as well!
